Title: 6th CA South Coast Meet - 17th May Post by: Leftie on April 06, 2008, 11:45:39 pm OK, it's a Saturday, but it is also my birthday - Heinz, so all are invited to The Spice Village in Emsworth.
It will be a varied bunch, ie my CA palls and my sailing palls. Oddly enough, the sailing guys (well some) are into cars (Mazda, Daimler et all) even an ex Harley' rider. Lord and Lady PigPen & F Spyder and Mrs FS have rooms booked. Robspot has a setee reserved for him. Fair will be similar to last Friday, but PP and myself will design a fixed menu for all and wil test in advance. Costs will be kept at £20 excluding liquids. Numbers will be be needed. So I will need to know preferences - veggie, hot, medium, English etc so the the meal satisfies all. Peter, hope your move is smoothe and uneventfull.. Rex, I'm frigging jealous, can I rent the currently vacant lodge? (forgot to say, and the unused cars). Title: Re: 6th CA South Coast Meet - 17th May Post by: Doris on April 07, 2008, 09:37:49 am Ooh, I'll be working in Portsmouth that day so I may pop in for a drink / bite to eat on the way home. What's the latest I can add my name to the list?

What's the latest I can add my name to the list? Dx The latest is actually on the evening if it's one. Three would be a problem, but you have been provisionally placed. It will be a set menu and therefore confirmed bookings are really required. What's the latest I can add my name to the list? Come on down. It will be a top night. The Restaurant is spot on and after last Fridays events I can guarantee that a few sherberts will be quaffed ;DDx Title: Re: 6th CA South Coast Meet - 17th May Post by: Black Granny on April 10, 2008, 08:40:29 pm Myself and Mrs BG should be able to make the feast. I can recommend the restaurant after out last visit there- even if it was a Brickwoods pub in a former life!

I am back working in Pompey as of Tuesday so we will be nearly neighbours again. Talk soon mate... last day in Wokingham tomorrow followed by departure to Kent for Pre Brands gathering. Should be able to talk properly by Monday ;D PP Title: Re: 6th CA South Coast Meet - 17th May Post by: Leftie on May 08, 2008, 01:15:21 am I have been reliably informed that there is a VIP amongst us and they are not too partial to seafood or Pork.
As it is my duty to ensure that all tastes are catered for, it was necessary for me to visit and sample more dishes. The things I have to do to ensure everyones happiness!!! ;D As mentioned in an earlier posting, there will be two 'clubs' attending. CA and some of my sailing friends. So we now have 24 in all. So charge the cameras up. I was toying with the idea of inviting an 'After Dinner Speaker' who used to get drunk with the likes of Burton, Harris etc. But Albert is not well at the mo' as he's worked too much lately and got a virus. His charge was reasonable - a meal for 2. (If you meet him, just don't ask about Alan Bates!!!). So, without further adoo, the fixed menu has been amended as shown below. Saturday 17th May 2008 Pre Dinner Drinks:- 7.00pm at The Blue Bell in South Street. Spice Village:- 8.00pm. Sitting:- 24 Costs to be kept to a maximum of £20.00 per person - excluding drinks. Meal is to be a Set Menu of varied dishes for each table so everybody will get to taste everything. PRE-ORDER. Pompadoms and dips including Lime Pickle. STARTERS. Lamb Chat. Single portion to be shared between 2 Samosa 1 per person Aloo Chat Single portion to be shared between 2 MAIN COURSE. A variety of main courses that can be easily shared; Jalfrazi Lamb Single portion to be shared between 2 Balti Shobuz Murgh Tikka(Chicken) Single portion to be shared between 2 Duck Tikka Shashlik Single portion to be shared between 2 Balti Jhinga Massala (Butterfly Prawn) Single portion to be shared between 3 • Nans and Rice are included with some dishes DESERTS. There are a variety of deserts available. The sorbet’s are very nice and refreshing, but bring a bench vice and a jack hammer! DRINKS. I will write down your drinks order prior to the meal so that on re-ordering, you just give your name whenever you want a refill. This makes life easier for the staff. (Remember I have a few other pals attending)

Footy in the afternoon? 8) Title: Re: 6th CA South Coast Meet - 17th May Post by: Leftie on May 11, 2008, 01:23:19 am We will be there :D Footy in the afternoon? 8) Kick Off at 3.00pm. I'm in a Win-Win / Lose-Lose situation here. Born and bread in the valleys north of Cardiff and brought up proper near Pompey. Both teams normally play in blue. On the day, all depends on toss of coin who is the 'home' team. I never expected Cardiff to get this far, but that could be a godsend to Pompey. OK, to the meal. Everything is sorted at Spice Village. Just need confirmations of attendees as Saturday is very busy there. Some have already confirmed but I really need something by 1200hrs Saturday. If no reply, you could be disappointed by not getting a space. Sorry, but you know the rules. Trust me, you will not be disappointed in the food, service or the company. I went there Wednesday and took 'Leftie Snr' - Vernon and just can't wait to get back for the full monty - so to speak. Looking forward to friends again and making new ones. Title: Re: 6th CA South Coast Meet - 17th May Post by: Leftie on May 17, 2008, 01:28:02 am Follow me, I'm right behind you (Best said in a hearty Valley accent) along with "Right pair of twats you three" Yep, I'm called a Sheep Sh*gger, You're meant to wear wellies and don't carry any mince sauce. But if you put thier rear legs in your wellies (it hurts) it's difficult to do because there is a 12 inch height differance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Isn't see, boyo. Title: Re: 6th CA South Coast Meet - 17th May Post by: Lord Pig-Pen on May 17, 2008, 01:38:18 am Pompey is home team, Cardiff in black. I said I thought about wearing my Welsh rugby shirt, then on top wearing my Red Drogon welsh shirt and then my fleece. I would then be hoping that you would photo me amongst Pompey fans. I will then say.... OK I'll take it off only to show the other shirt!!! I have been told I would be lynched. But I'm doing it. The Blue Bell is a very staunch blues pub, but then I am a local.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And then, I've got a 'Brains' Tshirt from the brewery. I need to wear that as I obviously haven't got any!!!!!!!!!!!!! Big Screens on Southsea Common for the match with party...etc,etc. Hope they dont pack up like others further North did!
