The 2008 poster is available now, thought we had already seen it, all thats missing is a commer between the Audi and Pug!
-
Exactly what I was thinking :D
-
well my parents arrived there today so fingers crossed they can get me some more info on camp sites :)
-
??? ???
-
??? ???
:-[
It's being worked on. All I can tell you is the Pug will be disappearing in continued protest at the closure of the Ryton factory last year.

I would think, Andy, that Bob was questioning Kev's apparent non-sequitur

My :-[ was agreeing with that! ;)
Kev, put your non-sequitur away!
-
Never had to google a word on here before, can't really believe that in fact I even bothered, but Andy Z made me curious.
The Latin term "Non sequitur" means, in a UK legal context: "an inconsistent statement, it does not follow".
So it seems Del boy is very learned and can quote latin at the drop of a hat and Andy Z just has a dirty mind.

And you had to Google to find that out??? :P

Sorry the poster made me think of the fact I leave for Lemans in 55days and I cant wait! :-[
-
I can't wait to see the real version of the poster. >:D

I think there should be a rethink of the Commer-concept, and maybe get BigH on his bike photoshopped in there ;D
-
Blimey, we'll all be queueing up to get in at this rate.
Andy Z being lapped (oi! careful!) by Big H on his pushbike, Dave Arrowing over the hump and Mark's Super A in close formation with a Ferrari Spyder. Me and Gary diceing for a "place" with Toby's Boxster pushing us aside under pressure from a dozen Cobralikes...
Nah
rather see the Commer back in place of the Pug, myself
;D
-
Best poster they have done for years, love the night /day, sun/moon reflection.
IMHO would have looked even better if they had left out the Dunlop bridge.
-
Andy Z, ready to host it again when it's ready!!!

Paddy, you need your eyes testing!! 8) (Stevie Wonder smilie) 8) BigH was on last year's poster!

I think it'll be later than normal this year Mark, I'm busy writing a Le Mans (not just for Dummies) Good Lavatory Guide for Werner. :o

A great tale. Is this this year's first sighting of the famous CA sh*t stories, started back in 2003.
A search under... Anyone bringing a push bike? ..... will bring back memories for a few of the 'regulars' on here.
The story is perfect reading for a LM virgin we are taking this year, and serves to warn everybody of the hazards of the circuit.
Praying for a hot one in 2008.

Bryan - perhaps this needs some qualification bearing in mind the subject under discussion ;) ;)

Happy memories Bryan! Are you anything to do with Team Shittysocks? I'd like to take a chunk or two out of that article for the lavatorial "guide within a guide".
I further assume that none of the happy contributors to this forum object to their stories being used, both in, and possible out of, context?

Jules, great Tale, was you that person ???
Pete, nothing to do with me, I stumbled across it a couple of years ago whilst surfing the net.
The story is perfect reading for a LM virgin we are taking this year, and serves to warn everybody of the hazards of the circuit.
Thanks for reminding me, I will send the link to our LM virgin next. >:D
It also reminds me to scout out a new chemical loo for this year ;)
-

No - I have my own team memories - thats why my LM Michelin road map has the lower half missing. That reminds me to get another.
Happy days..........

Great read, everytime I go to terte rouge I glance fondly over to where the allotments used to be and recall the small loos that used to be there by the fence.
Saved my bacon once I can tell tell you.
Few feelings compete with the cold clammy sweat of an impending sudden motion.

I hate that feleing too, I call it a 'Robopoo' as you get about nine seconds to comply.

Fantastically written tale - I suspect that it may not make it verbatim into the Guide, but boy it has really made my start to the week in the office! ;D

It is fantastic. I read it whenever I need cheering up, and looking at Donald Trumps hair doesn't quite do the job.

Hi everyone
Just registered after being a saddo and following my referrer links. Its great to find another good le Mans forum! Ill have a good look through everything tonight, I am sure there is hours of interesting stuff here:)
Andy: Yup, I was the poor misfortunate person who had the socks episode, and took it upon myself to write about it to liven up what is a decidedly dull website :) Anybody who wants to quote it, copy chunks etc, feel free, its all yours. Do email me a link to the finished article, I am sure it will be great!
Cheers

Hi, excellent tale of woe, but pleased your typical British Dunkerque Spirit saw you through in the end. I'm glad you've pulled your sock up and joined CA too. Feel free to post any other humourous travelogue type stories.
Thanks for the copyright offer. Toilet Tales of Le Mans, AKA Gripping Yarns, will be sat constipated somewhere deep in the bowels of the 08 CA Guide, so look in here nearer the time and download it from the link at the top of the thread.
-
Thanks Andy, sounds good, I look forward to reading it!
-
noveyron,
emailed your story to my group, one has already phone up crying with laughter all he could mutter was oh so true ;D
I think I might have put off our LM virgin though as he's a bit funny about WC's ::)
-
Hi Jules
Glad to hear about your mate enjoying the story :)
We were back on Expo last year, and will be there again this year, and I have to report that the toilet facilities there last year were absolutely first class, the women there kept them spotless, they did a fantastic job. Oh and they are portaloo blocks now, so no long drops !
Now I think about it, in the years since the unfortunate episode, we have camped at various places, Annex, Technopark etc and the general standard of facilities is actually pretty good. I must just have been in the wrong place at the wrong time under the wrong circumstances back in '98 :)

Andy,
Will the Good Lav Guide contain details of how a certain Zarse lost his CA t-shirt in 2006? ;)
Dx

Yes...
No...
Maybe...
I don't know...
It's not so much the use that the teeshirt was put to, foul though that was, it's more where it ended up that troubles me so.

My mate Neil the PE teacher has a bit of an accident in his sleep.... I will see if Sean still has the photos of his walk of shame from tent to shower block with Khaki shorts in hand of outstretched arm.... and he still denies it to this day!! ;D ;D
-
Houx Annexe in 2003 springs to mind!! ;D
Where's Stu??

Enamoured as I am of toilet humour, how's the poster coming on.
(Maybe a pair of sh*tty socks could be hanging off the bridge)

Excellent. I see you appear to have lowered the suspension a tad. Is this to assist top speed on the long straights?
-
No, it's just the tires are flat :(
-
Anyone know why the Audi has such a prodigious amount of left hand lock on?
Has it been given a friendly hurry up by the Commer?
-

Probably because it is a left hand turn into the esses after the Dunlop bridge. With the Commer drafting, it should be able to overtake at Tetre Rouge ;D

But will Andy pull over for a swift Leffe at the Stella Bar and, hence, lose his advantage?

Andy,
Top stuff, as ever with the annual production of the CA poster ;D ;D ;D. I do like the way that the Pug and Audi are obviously on the point of being blown into the Armco by the mighty Commer coming through!

GREAT POSTER.
Is it Mr Z at the wheel because the driver looks like The Stig.
-
The original Stig came to Le Mans with us last year. If you want to know who he is, he was the one at the friday DfH party dressed as Darth Maul. I'm not sure yet what he's dressing as this year.
