I've just had the bad news........... I've got Trunnions again.

I originally got these in 1972 but by 1977 I was clear of them.

My Dad says that since November '06 I've been suffering as there were obvious visual symtoms. He says it happens to people who go through a 'mid life' crisis.  I presume he means those over 50.

I've tried to analyse my life and it transpires that on or about that date I was flush with money and pissed (relatively speaking).

So, does drink give you Trunnions? Because the first time I was stone cold sober. Is it age that brings this condition on?

Before I seek specialist help, I thought I'd ask you learned people of the world.

				Searched Google and
"The Trouble With Trunnions" ...is feeding them!

And I've finally devised a simple (and cheap) way to force feed them their regular 5,000 mile dose of Cod liver oil ;-) ...or AMSOIL [or name your favorite] 90W gear oil.

Using a small "oral syringe" - no needle, just a plastic nib. I got mine (1 teaspoon) for free at the local pharmacy.

Put a rag under the trunnion to catch the extra fluid, so it doesn't run down the sidewall of the tire (if on). On the eclat/elite, it's easy to do with road wheel on, just turn the steering full lock and get to work...

Siphon up a teaspoon of gear oil, uncap the trunnion, put the nib into the hole and jam the front end tight against the trunnion, squeeze *quickly* and watch...

You should see some nasty old juice slip out from under the rubber top seal. Keep shooting until you do.

If you have trouble getting a pressure seal, slip a neoprene flat washer over the nib -- small enough to seal around the hole, big enough not to go in.

Remember to cap the hole again. Tada!!!

There was me thinking you had problems with your drivetrain!

You need to keep a closer eye on your spiggots in future.

While I pour myself another 'north of the border' amber drinkie and suffering. My original was contracted in 1972. I was cleared in 1976.

However, with remission, in 2006 these came back.

I have founf a specialist just around the corner that can assist.

What are 'lugions'? Hope I don't get those as well.

I think Doris is trained in such matters..... clear the kitchen table.
I have latex gloves in the car if needed, but not shoulder length ;D
