Was washing it today, and sort of kept going. Couldn't help myself. CA stickers going on nearer the time (Sacrilege I know, but it's SWMBO's car, but frankly, I'm surprised I got all 3 circuit outlines on without a cooling of relations)

Can't make my mind up. Fuel prices and a 1500 mile round trip is going to hurt so I have started the long awaited bare metal respray on my Alfa Bertone coupe (16mpg) but if its not ready I'll have to choose between a freshly rebuilt series 2 Interceptor that I have in stock and my gloriously scruffy '67 Mustang GT 289 Fastback (both 10-12 mpg at best).
Whatever happens I'll be going for the friends of opec award this year!
-
I was hoping to be taking the trusty Alfa 156 until a few weeks ago when the handbrake failed on the driveway whilst I was out shutting the garage door. Being a lazy sod I left the door open - handbrake fails, car starts rolling down steep driveway ripping off door on gatepost and bending door into front wing. F**K. Should be getting it back from the bodyshop in time, but it then needs to visit the garage to get the handbrake sorted.
-
Thats spooky Jay. The monkeys at the MOT centre ripped the door off my Interceptor last month!
The young idiot who works there slotted it into reverse when it was on the ramp with the door open.
I've just dropped them a nice £1500 bill off funny enough.
Hope you get it sorted in time.

I wished I had'nt posted now.
At about 3.30pm today some Irish t**t on a motorbike came around a blind bend on the wrong side of the road, completely out of control, on a motorbike. I was ok (although am stiffening nicely in the neck region), he seemed ok, but there is major damage to the Porker, his bike is history.
So it wont be going to LM this year or possibly any other year either. 2564 miles on the odometer !
Jem
PS He confessed all to the police.
-
Jem,
Sorry to hear that.
If you need a lift over, our team comes from Llandudno.

That they do go would LOVE the 2ltr turbo special edition one they made a few years back but fat chance on my wages

I've had a Vectra 2.0 Turbo petrol and now use a Signum 2.0 Turbo petrol for work. Yes, that engine does have some grunt.
The Vectra was an estate - 4 up with full camping gear onboard to the 2004 Classic doing naughty speeds on the Alencon - Le Mans motorway ;D

my dad has the 1.9 cdti (low bhp model) and that zips down the motorways and still gets silly MPG! :o nearly 900miles to a tank last year to lemans sat at 90 ish on the auto route.
The Vectra C is a very over looked car, incredibly comfy but some have issues as smokie has found out :(

But only because he could afford the petrol. Even taking an Aston you'll be about £100 poorer than last year.
And the Galaxy is the only car to offer, as an optional extra, a bike rack - that goes inside

Hi Martin
Thanks for the offer dude, really appreciate that. Fact is, Rick, Janine, Mark, Neil and Chris stocked me up good and proper at Sebring, so I'm replete with PG Tips - thanks again.
What I suspect I might need - and this is a miracle potion that I find difficult to source here in the US, is Resolve. Second only to the fabled Mars bar chocolate drink as an instant hang-over cure, it is waaaay better than Tylanol and a damn sight easier to imbibe. So, if your feeling generous, a couple of sachets would be much appreciated and rewarded with a similar quantity of cold tubes of Nigerian.
Hopefully I'll bump into you during the course of t'weekend.

God you poor sod. American Airlines, if McDonalds did airlines, this is exactly how it would be. The last time I flew the steward was about eighty and he sported a pair of braces covered in stupid badges, just like staff in TGI Fridays. When you pay $5 for a small Heineken I swear they ring a bell. AA, a ghastly way to travel.

Perhaps you'd better ring a bell in the bar so I know how to find you

-

I am indeed - met Leigh at Japfest a few weeks ago, where we had 48 NSXs in one place... probably about 20% of the total UK population.
Leigh is known as "Kowalski" on the NSX forum, and his car is monster loud - on the Castle Combe track, you could hear him when he was at the end of the straight, over the other NSXs that were just entering it. How he passed the noise regs, I'll never know :police:
And Steve - you're more than welcome! Come on over to BN and see us ;D

We are on Maison Blanche Ewan. Please come over and see us for a beer. We'll be next to Drinking for Holland on E11-21. We'll be pretty hard to miss!!

I hear you Andrew, but beggars can't be choosers - and this was the most affordable route across the Atlantic. AA are not my favorite carrier by a long stretch, but I believe the Miami/CDG route does afford an upgrade possibility that won't wipe me out, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for some availability at check-in. Using Virgin Atlantic from MCO to Gatwick was about the same money (around $1500), but would have left me in, well, Gatwick.
Safe travels everyone - and heartfelt commiserations to those who can't make it this time - I know your pain, having missed 2006/7 editions.
Randy - raid the nipper's college fund and call me for departure gate information.

Going Virgin might also have left you in Upper Class. You met my pal Andy at Sebring, he'll be in LM too. He coulda done a number for you I'm sure. You'd still have been stuck in LGW though. Mind, we coulda squeezed you in the Commer... nah, second thoughts, AA is probably a better bet...
