Fancy walking around Le Mans with one to make life easier, just put it in the fridge beerfore you use it.
BUt more importantly where's the cheapest place to buy?
-
Its probably more to do with my shocking ability to pour a pint but i find i either end up with a glass of froth or a pint thats as flat as a fart with those things ::)
-
Neil, I have one of those kegs about 6 feet from where I sit as I type this. It's calling to me "open me, drink me". The fridge is a bit full at the minute though.

seem to work well, i used a smaller one at a VW show the other weekend while camping :)

They are pretty good Neil. The pourer with this one means you get a decent pint too (as long as it's been chilled)
There have been many other 5 litre kegs around, and with thise you very often get the problem Mike says about a glass half full of froth.
As for price, Makro had them on special a couple of weeks ago at £10 inc the VAT. Don't know what their current price would be though? But they're not cheap. Most supermarkets are about £12.50 to £14 I think.
(IIRC, 24x250ml Stella/Kronenbourg = 6 litres for about £6 in France)

I think I might take a gallon or two of Knight's cider - at approx £5/gal from the farm shop its cheaper than that fizzy stuff!

It'll probably doubly up nicely as petrol as well if we run out ;D

I experienced the same problem as mike when i last got one of those kegs, but it was slightly different design to the one pictured

Brought one today, see what its like.
Another question, as some people have problems pouring a glass, can you just run a long plastic pipe from the nozzel to my mouth and just press the button when adrink is need?
Not sure, but may try at Le Mans. When the keg is nearly empty.

I think you should try it for charity at the DfH party Neil, with a full one!!
DOWN IN ONE - DOWN IN ONE- DOWN IN ONE- DOWN IN ONE

They sell them here too so you can drink the lot on the ferry and stock up again on arrival.
What's wrong with bringing PROPER beer over here? At least then you don't have the fridge problem.

I'm trying to get time to visit a local brewery for you Deb but lack of time could cause a problem! If I can't get there I'll try to at least grab a few bottles (not the same I know!)

What were those big cans that first came out in the late 60's early 70's when you bought one you got the free opener with it,
Party six?

So close -
It was the Watneys Party Seven - I bet people still have the can opener in a draw at home.
