Title: The I'm Back thread
Post by: smokie on June 14, 2008, 12:39:04 am
Somewhat earlier than usual, I am starting this thread, having been to LM and now returned (Fri night) in order to go on holiday to the Canary Islands on Sunday.

Hope those still out there continue to have the fine old time that was underway when I was there...and safe and uneventful journeys back to all!!

Home again.  Another year, another hangover....

Great to see all of you again.  Pity the race ended in the way it did with a poor decision rather than a battle to the end but all in all it was a really good fight with lots of finishers.  Three cheers to Kruse for all they did - sad that the car didn't last given the work they put in.

I just got home, screaming hangover and firework and/or BBQ induced burnt fingers.
Great race and the weather was ace over in UK.
Shame the French surrendered to the Germans in the race- but thats history for you.
Have a safe trip home you guys and heres to next year.

Great way to break my Le Mans cherry.

Tetre Rouge at 2am, chips beer & cars - does it get any better?

Had a great time.

Thanks to Paddy and all of DfH for great party.

Oh and the Race was good too. :-)

Back at 0600 this morning, after a nice gentle run back up to Calais from Le Mans, then Dover to home, albeit slightly extended after a refuelling stop at Alencon when the MGA failed to restart.  Didn't take too long to revealed that the points had closed up, so a quick adjustment using the MkI eyeball to set the right gap and a screwdriver to tighten the locking screw got us underway again.  Hardly rocket science, but it livened up the usual run up the autoroute. A few hours kip then up to a wonderful hot shower, just finished the unpacking and sorting, followed by logging on here.

Fantastic week and great to see people at various stages of the week.  Many, many thanks for another outstanding evening at DfH (proving once again Paddy's theory that the DfH beer selection doesn't give you a headache, but just makes you feel like you've been run over twice by a steam roller in the morning).

An excellent and memorable race pretty much throughout particularly in LMP1 and GT1 just made it all the better, along with all of the many other things that go to make up the Le Mans atmosphere and memories.

Final task will be the depressing one of sorting kit out to head back to High Wycombe this evening for work tomorrow.

Suffice to say to whet your appetite that, indeed, the Commer made the annual pilgrimage there, with plenty of tales to enjoy - I will leave it to the man himself to make the full report of the trials and tribulations of the journey down to La Sarthe, in his own eloquent style.   As to the journey back, I have not yet heard......

everything seemed ok when I left Rouen last night....however the occupants of the commer are unlikely to be bothered about the condition of the commer today, owing to the fact that they spent the majority of yesterday evening propping up a bar in the centre of the town...

The stories of the commer being stranded, whilst other members of the team arrived in Le-Mans, and headed to the Stella bar with me, are completely untrue however.....

Great weekend, my poor broken body is very pleased to be home and in my nice comfy bed.
Thanks to all, especially Paddy and the DFH crew, top guys. The Baguettes and Vinnini's Vice were excellent, was also very proud of Brad's rendition of My Girl, he had actually stayed sober to about 2pm to make sure he got it right for Marius - did anybody get a video if it? I'd like his mum to see it.

Got back by 1 am last night. Drove 7 hours for 600 km, thanks to the terrible traffic round Paris.  3 hours to cross the Ring there, it's a freakin' nightmare.

Just got back and emptied car into yard to pack away. Great week, great race, excellent company but for some reason it flew over. Glad JPC is ok, Jimmy (Liverpool Boys) has been collected from hospital and is ok (apart from he's 50% proof). Nearly hit the concrete centre barrier on the way home at about 80 by falling asleep but a death scream from Wayne and him grabbing the wheel saved the day. Could'nt possibly fall asleep again with the smell of sh*t in the car after that.

Thanks to The Liverpool Boys for the hospitality and to DfH and JPC for Friday night. What a night.

Just got in, unpacked car, opened letter from tax man, opened beer - maybe I should have done the last two in reverse order!

Great meeting up with everyone again, had a brilliant time and managed to stay pretty much sober most of the week - with the obvious exclusion of DfH Friday Night which is a bit of a haze.

Estimated arrival: Monday 0400
Arrival: Monday 1900

Left HA at 1800, flat tyre in front of the showers. No spare wheel, just a Tyre Fit can. Used that stuff and it looked good. Tyre flat again before the Le Mans péage. No chance anymore, Tyre Fit already used, so called service and got towed to Savigny Le something. A small garage, but he had no tyres there and his machine to put tyres on rims was too old to handle modern 17" alloy wheels with 215/45's on them. No other chance than to spend the night there.
The town's pub already closed, a hotel available, but some sort of country club. He told me a room would cost 150-200€. Divided by two as I had a mate with me and the insurance paying 60€ per person it seemed worth it. I asked him to call them if there's a room free. It was, but as it was some sort of Ferrari and Aston Martin clubs staying there - one night 750€ :o
Spend the night in the car then, not able to put the back of the seat down as we were fully loaded. Never slept that good ::)
Took the wheel off at 8am as promised then today and the friendly garage men drove me to Le Mans Point S shop. Got a Michelin fitted for 200€ (160 tyre + mounting), back to the garage and as he promised me sunday evening I was able to leave at 10am.
Easy ride, through Paris at noon with low traffic, stopped at McD in Belgium and 5pm at Aachen to kick my mate out of the car ;D
Another 2h to my hometown then...

A nice experience and I damn this Tyre Fit stuff. Looked all fine following the Tyre Fit short instruction guide, we done all right, but questioning ourselves and having nothing to do at Savigny I had a look in the car's manual and it said there must be 1,3 bar left in the tyre so that the mousse can work. Sadly it was also the side of the tyre damaged which doesn't work either.
I don't but a new can of mousse, I put one of my winter wheels in now.

Never the less, it was great - even more so with a such a nice campsite like HA and such nice british lads all around

Hi all.

Our little group just got back minus the Ford Focus... We travelled by various means

1. Ford Focus to Rouen
2. Train to France
2. M.A.N. Flatbed recovery truck
3. Mercedes to Hotel
3. Legs to Rouen Gare, collect Alfa 147
4. Alfa 147 collect gear from broken Focus, continue to LM
5. Return 147 to Calais pm today
6. Sea France boat to Dover
7. Collect Zafira, drop it at Aldershot tomorrow.

Mate Nige awaits news on Focus repair and will fly to Rouen to drive Focus back.

Planning for next year already, Can't wait!! Our thanks go to our neighbours, the Independant Corvette Owners who ensured we got no sleep at all.

Best wishes all

D.A.

Back home safe and sound. The frogeye limped back the last 100 miles but as usual delivered me home unscathed.
Those of you who were there know how fantastic it was. Those of you who weren't probably remember from how good it was when you were last there.
Many thanks to everybody for making it great. Especially Steve Brown for sorting out the tickets (again). Termie for organising such a great drive through the French countryside and my fellow camping and Bagnole mates.

Not long arrived back home after a wonderful weekend. Nearly got caught up in a French lorry driver's protest on the N12 on the way to Roscoff but managed to avoid it - feel sorry for those in the miles of traffic that we saw because of it.

Glad to hear that Neil got his genny back and that the scumbags were caught. Shame that their actions would have maybe spoilt other's enjoyment. Just cracked open a bottle of Scotland's finest to celebrate my birthday before returning to work later tomorrow (sorry today, just realised the time).

Thanks to Wishy, Skorpio (and Mrs. Skorpio) Neil, Douglas & co. for a great brunch on Saturday morning and for their company. Looking forward to next year already.

Oh - and many thanks to Tom for the new ticket holder. Unexpected, but just in time as the old one was falling apart at the seams.

Pete B.

Well, I can tell you we're back safely with the grand old lady, no tow trucks were required to get us home, although I was flat on my back at the roadside an hour ago clearing another blockage in the fuelpipe. Rouen was good value, we had an early night, in bed by half three!

So so tired, I'm giddy with fatigue. Thanks to all, full sports report later in the week, but too tired now. I need to be up and out the house by seven tomorrow, so what the hell am I doing wasting sleep time typing this?

Got home at 16:30 yesterday very tired and dusty. Thanks to all for a fantastic week in our CA enclave which turned out to be a perfect example of friends sharing and enjoying each others company.

Paddy/DfH, as usual, absolutely brilliant, thanks guys.

Nick, what a star. BBQ bombs spectacular, the funniest thing all week.

Good news that Mark is OK with no permanent damage.

The only downer from the week is the cars getting keyed. Mine isn't too bad but Doris's Alpha and the Merc are a mess. Bastards.

BTW. Are moderaters allowed to change log on names? What ever happened to Vegas rules?

Got home after towing the DFH bar back to the netherlands last night at about 9 pm, bloody trip took us 12 hours. But we got back safe and sound and absolutely shattered. Thanks to everyone for making the week what it was, it was different beeing so far away from most of you guys, but we made do. The brethren DJ battle was the bomb, really good night that was. The DFH party, good as per normal. Tropi pong by Mark (glad you and your buddies are OK) and the two containers of tropicoma we finished on sunday, great as usual. Still hungover now and thank god I do not have to go in to work today, we'll see about tomorrow. Time to clear up the mess!

Arrived Home yesterday at 23:30 via the Dieppe-Newhaven ferry.
I Spent almost the whole time longing on deck in one of the few deckchairs enjoying the sun until about 5 miles from the port when it clouded over.

Then a 6 hour journey back to Newcastle. I'd reccomend this route as its only 3 hours in France and even Rouen wasn't bad with Satnav (they seem to be building a new bridge which will probably make it easier still).

Yes, it's like mutually assured destruction, or the Deer Hunter if you prefer. If you tell everyone about that terrible thing I did, then I'll tell them about your own major transgressions, which in turn will drag others into it, multiplying until eventual mass annihilation occurs. This could become one big goatfuck. >:D

Terrible things. Such terrible terrible things...  ;)

I'd go along with that, too.

We did the Newhaven-Dieppe crossing and the drive on the French side was good. Even Rouen was painless.

And once we got bored of the peage, south of Rouen, the country roads provided a fast cruise with nice scenery.

Got back around half 11 last night after a supersonic run down the road from glasgow airport fueled by red bull.

3rd year at the race and probably the best yet. Many thanks to the rest of the Liverpool Boys for looking after us young'uns,Stu and for taking us down to arnage at half 3 in the morning to watch some cars crash and spin in the rain and thanks to everyone else round about us for making Le Mans the experience it was.

It was little brothers 1st year and quite probably not his last.

It was also good to put some faces to the names on here aswell at the dfh friday night party which was great as always.

All in it was a great weekend had by all and roll on june 2009  ;D

Oh,and thanks to Ade(ajw) for meeting us in the airport and guiding us through the maze of frenchness.

All would appear to be home safely and pretty much in one piece apart from The Pig Pens who are still en route.

I'm sure he'll add a full account of the activities on his return. I myself will add my account later too.

Great to see everyone and many thanks to all who lent a hand/beer/extra wattage (Mr. Robspot) etc all through the week when it was most needed.

Houx Annexe Nord proved to be a superb location particularly after the ticket problems earlier this year, I feel the ACO did us a real favour in the end by f**k*ng up. We will return.

Peace

All the English based Liverpool Boys arrived home at 12.30pm yesterday. This included Jimmy who had spent the whole weekend in Le Mans hospital due to the fact he took a funny turn on Friday morning, scaring the life out of us. He has had a good proding, poking and a cat-scan and has been given the all clear. He has now got to face the wife, who going to examine his head with a frying pan for giving her a fright. ;)

I would just like to thank all those people who asked about Jim, during his stay in hospital also the staff at the hospital who were all very helpful and looked after him so well.

Glad to hear he got the all clear Brian.
Personally, I think it was the finest case of 'round avoidance' I've ever come across.
Drinks are on Jimmy next year, and it's green tea for him.

I got back home last night, and can I just say

It was bloody brilliant to meet people I really should have met years ago.

Glad you liked the pops Bob. Feel free to post pics when you get them.

I had a great time at DFH, and Mrs nickliv has been completely understanding about the whole brake disc thing.

Well, I've been back since midnight on monday but the mist has only just started to clear.

Firstly can I thank the ACO for f**k*ng up the allocation and allowing me to spend one of the best Le Mans ever with some truly great people.

Upon arrival ice cold ones were thrust upon us by Rick Cutler, tent erection help was given by Steve Zarse, Andy built our BBQ and then the lovely Melans took up refuge on my three piece suite to provide the necessary eye candy.

A few ales later and it was time for the Brethren DJ Mash up which by all accounts (once we had managed to prise Sgt Major Chop away from the decks) went down a storm. I was unable to see at this point so can't comment (thanks Rex!)

Andy was again on hand saturday to deal with a very temperamental generator (I don't think she liked that French diesel sh*t - it's yellow FFS) and then, after several very pleasant naps on my sofa, off to Azerbaijan the DfH party. Great night as per usual but the evenings more amusing events didn't occur until back at Team Zarse. The less said about that the better I think sufficed to say for a well aged man I thought he was particularly under developed  :o

What happened saturday? I think I went to the track then turned back for another sofa session followed by the Poo Bar. Reasonably enjoyable then moved on to the Guinness Bar where I think it's fair to say things got out of hand. I hope that photographer took it all as a joke  :-\ Back to the Zarses again and things get very sketchy here, a theme that continued for the rest of the weekend.

Sunday was going to be a quiet day wasn't it Vicki? Good job we didn't start the red wine at lunchtime then. Unfortunately missed the piano wrecking on saturday night but myself and Lead Pianist Steve Brown managed to get some wonderful tunes out of her in the afternoon before the ritual burning in the evening. Which I missed. As I was taking a nap. Something to do with Sausage and a "special cigarette" I think. Woke again a few hours later raring to go, just in time to burn the sofas with Weena and Claire dancing around the fire (wearing VERY flammable wigs) like some sort of fire fairies. Bob wasn't there and definitely didn't do anything inappropriate  ::)

Shame MB was so far as didn't get to see JPC and DfH very much but the HA Nord posse more than made up for it.

Thoroughly superb weekend with some rather unpleasant images now burnt into my brain. I will definitely never be the same again.

That's hardly suprising considering that the said person had spent 15 minutes squatting under a cold running tap with a kitchen roll trying to make himself look presentable.

Oh the shame the shame :-[

Shame MB was so far as didn't get to see JPC and DfH very much but the HA Nord posse more than made up for it.

Thoroughly superb weekend with some rather unpleasant images now burnt into my brain. I will definitely never be the same again.

This summary, largely, is my recollection of events in approximately the right order.

The race was the best for years, those Audi chaps are masters of racing tactics and beating cars who were six seconds a lap faster in qualifying has to go down as an amazing feat of strategy. Loved the Group C, it made me feel very old, and of course standing opposite the Aston pit at the finish brought a lump to my throat.

We arrived later than planned, and the Zarses pitched in with BobU, Niclivs lot, the Frogeyed folk and of course our old pals from the SPS. Our communal camp at HAS was, by popular acclaim, a huge success. So thanks to all and sundry for making it what it was. Enjoyed St Saturnin very much, a nice dose of civilisation and thanks to Doris for driving us there. Someone left some bacon and sausages in our freezer, what would they like me to do with them? I guess I could have them sent on?

Other than that, on the social side, some terrible things happened. Terrible terrible things. The Brethren set on the thursday was banging, had an amazing time, spoilt only by having to listen to Paul Zarse's rap rubbish, and worse still, his cantralto version of Ladies Night. Dreadful, I've a video somewhere of him doing it twenty years ago wearing a hoody!

The DfH party was equally a highlight, thanks for the hospitality ladies and gents, Mr Vice was at his finest. Got home on the beer scooter somehow, I think Chris was wearing a dress and Weena was by this stage sporting an exceptioanlly rude teeshirt. I found a pink feather boa in the back of the van when cleaning out last night. I can only assume it's got something to do with this, alternatively I was paid a visit by John Inman in the night. Regret the only L'pool Boy I met was Chris, mind you, he's looking fantastic these days! Loads of other people we didn't have enough time with, a function perhaps of MB being sooo far away from HA. Still, I'm glad we made the switch. Delighted JPC is still with us, sorry to hear of Jimmy and anyone else who had a small tale of woe.

As Rob says, matters nearly got out of hand at the Guinness Bar on saturday. This incidentally has become the new poo bar, like it used to be three or four years ago. We first met The Brethren and Melans late afternoon (very impressed with Weena's staying power, she appeared to be very close to maximum refreshment level, yet got her second wind and stayed out til close of play about twelve hours later). We had a few cordial pints before heading off to watch a bit of racing and back to base camp on HA for tea. Then more racing and off to the Poo Bar, which was good of course, but not quite like it used to be. We decided to cut our losses and moved on to the Guiness Bar.

Rob mentioned the French photographer. What a nasty little man, unannounced he stood on a stool amongst us to take snaps with his big telephoto lens of the idiots dancing on the tables with no clothes on (have they never jeard of youtube for God's sake?). Anyway, he kept showing us close-ups of other mens' winkles. What a pervy old sod, taking candid nude pics is not an attractive trait IMO. Finally, his presence became somewhat tiresome and the steps taken to remove him involved written curses, fire and finally what I can only describe as a whirlpool of liquid hatred. Even so, he took a little while to wander off. Oh, and Brad; you're in!

Presently, Rex Chris and myself decided, for reasons which remain uncertain, that what was required was the services of a wheelybin on the dance floor. Clearly we needed a dancing girl too adorn this unique mode of transport, Weena being selected for the task. After a little while, a path was cleared and in we rampaged onto the dance floor. The general hoypoloy went berserk and were upon it like a herd of babboons, whooping and screaming. We left them to it, also leaving them to explain matters to Security. All good clean fun, nothing got broken and nobody was hurt. After that, things really livened up. If only I could remember what happened, I think Hieronymus Bosch did a painting of something similar, it certainly looks reminicent, especially when Nicliv lit the thermite!

The Zarses want to say a huge thanks, a completely vintage year in all respects, sides still hurt from the laughter created by a fantastic bunch of fellow lunatics, we can't possibly name them all, but if we met you at Le mans, you probably made us laugh, or gave us a beer, or did summat ridiclous so whoever you are, well done and see you next year.

For the entirely seperate Commer story, I'll put something on the MCR thread in a day o two.

TEAM ZARSE - It's our pleasure!

Nice one Rob.

I would just like to echo Andy Z's appreciation to all who crossed our paths at the weekend - it was certainly my most enjoyable visit to LM.

I must also point out a couple of small errors though (President Zarse must have been more drunk than he thought at the time). While Brad was indeed accepted as a fully fledged Zarse it was Robspot who was welcomed into the family on the Saturday at the Guinness bar having undergone a vigorous and disgusting initiation ceremony, the details of which cannot be posted for legal reasons.
And although Weena did find herself in said wheelie bin on more than one occasion that night, it was I who was the designated driver as it was thrust to the centre of the dancefloor leaving a wake of scattered bodies and furniture in it's path, only to topple over as soon as it became stationary covering me in detritus.

My particular thanks go to The Brethren, the Melans, to SpongeBob, and to DfH for proving once again that alcohol is bad!

And finally a very warm and soggy welcome to new members Brad and Robspot who really don't know what they've let themselves in for...

Roll on 2009!

I just p****d my self in the office reading that.... it really was like a scene from Cannibal Holocaust. Normal folk turning into total savages at the sight of a bin on the dance floor. We sent people flying and diving for cover, some who looked cross, but when they saw the wheeled deity they they joined the rampaging pack of bin worshippers.
We calmly walked away amid a hail of beer and gutteral warcry sounds.

My god.... what a week.

Ok so we are finally home, the trip back to Norway took alittle longer than expected due to the fact that our car ran out of electricity just before the Belgium Border. So after being recovered at the side of the road and new alternator ordered we had a 2 day extention to our Holiday payed for by our Breakdown company, and i must thank The Norwegain breakdown service as they were brilliant, we just called the number in Norway and they had a french speaking person on hand to deal with everything thing for us, just called back 5 minutes later saying the recovery was on its way, a hotel had been booked and a Taxi would pick us up when we arrived at the recovery workshop. if we had to wait more than 2 days we would get a hire car to drive home and our vehical would be recovered to Norway for us  ;D cant say i ever had that kind of service from the AA.

Had a briliant year thanks to all the LiverpoolBoys for Looking after us and finding us a pitch right next to theres. Sorry that i did not make it to the DFH part or the Poo bar, but after suffering a stroke last year at Le Mans and only having a Heart Op just over a month ago, i was under orders to take it easy. I was just glad that i had make it at all this year. Hopefully i will be up to full strenght next year.

Good to hear the Jimmy was ok, hope it does not put him off coming next year. just have to take it easy on the lowflyers  :)

ok well im off for a sleep on the couch France to Norway in under 20 hours takes it out of you :o

I think I am finally in a state to report on the weeks events.
We arrived on Monday at 11.30ish, sneaked it throught the new concourse bit (avoiding paying for extra nights) and were greeted by Rick and Ricks dad with cold beer. Marvelous!
Delboy was still setting up camp and that was HAN.... just us.

We roped of a huge section of land and set up our kit, awaiting arrival of Wooly and Sausage with the caravan.
Lunch was provided by The Cutler Crew (Fantastic spicy spring rolls) Cheers chaps ;D

The Dodge rumbled into camp mid afternoon and yet again, the Cutler crew came to the rescue to help with some electrical problems in the Caravan.
Monday was a quiet night...
Rusty arrived Tuesday and camp Brethren was built.... and what a beauty it was. The best yet!
I think tuesday night was quiet too.... but cant really remember.

Wednesday is a bit of a blur but I know we had a whole Fillet Steak Joint on the BBQ and a fab chicken and Chorizo salad prepared by Russ and Sausage.
Steve Z and Paul Z arrived with the news that the Commer had issues and was being worked on at the roadside.
I think we went to the Stella bar and then watched some qualifying before heading back to HA sud to the announcement that the Commer had retired 4 miles away.
Bless Bob U for getting up and going on a rescue mission.
Shortly after, Team Z were in the area and it all started to go wild from there on!

Thursday bought the arrival of Robspot, The Melans and news of Marks shunt... (Glad you were ok)
My Piano and nasty red sofa were installed and camp Brethren was complete. (Thanks to Rob for bringing them down)

Thursday night had a different twist from other Brethren party nights as we had two world class DJ's spinning old skool tunes.... and f**k me did they do a good job of it! Just like I remember it back then but better... MC Pig-Pen had his first outing but I am unsure of his performance as the pints of Vodka and tonic made it all go a bit odd and I drifted off to an early 90's rave venue, the lights, smoke and bubbles made the crowd look fantastic. Shame I dont have any pics. Does anyone else??
Fantastic night and my god... can Russ bust some moves!

Friday was our usual trip into town for beer and idiocy with the added bonus of the tram as transport. COOL!

Friday night was DFH and Claire spent an Hour doing my hair... which I think looked superb, as did she, dirty little tart ;)
Was good to meet up with all of DFH and the CA crew, especially Kev. I think he may have been a little worried by Gimpy and myself... ahhh >:D

The walk back was fun... as was the afterparty at Team Zarse HQ. The Cabaret Act was not what was expected :o

Saturday involved the now legendary Guiness bar for starters, where some people bought the most hideous looking chicken and chips ever known to man and many beers were quaffed in the sunshine.
Lady PP and I watched the start of the race and then returned back to the fun.

Most departed for dinner early evening and then returned to the PooBar, which was rather dull.... unlike the G bar where we ended up.
The Zarse Family were on top form, as were the Melans. I was proud to be preggers Melan with my blonde wig and Tiara. Many a man groped me!

The bin incident was fantastic as was the photographers rucksack. (Big thanks to Team Zarse for all the fun) >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D

Sunday started late and camp was broken for The Brethren departure to Rouen.

Myself and Lady PP, Melans, Robspot, Rick, Steve Pyro Brown, Barry and Andy remained on HAN and saw the week out in style. We dined on a whole Rib eye joint provided by Robs crew, drank anything that was available and burned all the furniture and the piano.
Steve and Rob did a duet on the piano carcass that sounded better than when it was whole, Bob U made a fully clothed guest appearance and helped with the firewood ;), Claire and Weena danced like savages around the fire and then Weena deepthroated a massive black pudding before passing out in her chair.

We left on monday morning and headed to Dinard for a night of civilisation.... and very pleasant it was too, until morning when it appeared that every seagull in town had sh*t on the Chavalier. Fantastic, as it was parked right outside the hotel entrance. The best promotional material they could have wanted!

Thanks to EVERYONE... wont list all the names... you know who you all are.

Roll on 09... it will be even more mental >:D

Lord and lady Pig-Pen of The Brethren

Thursday night had a different twist from other Brethren party nights as we had two world class DJ's spinning old skool tunes.... and f**k me did they do a good job of it! Just like I remember it back then but better... MC Pig-Pen had his first outing but I am unsure of his performance as the pints of Vodka and tonic made it all go a bit odd and I drifted off to an early 90's rave venue, the lights, smoke and bubbles made the crowd look fantastic. Shame I dont have any pics. Does anyone else??

For your delectation...

Dx

PS:  Sorry about the size.  I have no idea how to resize photos being a girl and all ...

Somehow I think you will benefit more if I take you up on your kind offer than I will, but as I am happy to work on shoulders then I think you'll find we have a deal.

Extras?  Surely that's what Lady PP is for.  ;)

That is the most beautiful paragraph I have ever read. Brought a tear to my eye.

If anyone ever asks why you go to Le Mans show them that.

No corruption required for Mr B. I was pleasantly surprised by both his behaviour and piano playing ability.
A true English gent! ;D

I am humbled by your endorsement, Your Lordship.

Huge apologies for my inactivity and lack of attention to all your requests this past week.  Having staggered home from LM on Monday night, I promptly turned back around and headed off to France again (Cote d'Azur this time though).  I'd heard that a certain bar in Juan les Pins had Leffe Ruby on draft and were prepared to dish it out in 50cc glasses.  Well, it would have been extremely rude to turn down such an offer.

Any road up, LM 2008 was a huge blast, HAN was the NEW Houx Annexe.  Thanks to Rick / Rex / Brethren for saving us some space on the Eastern Front, Melans / Zarses / DfH for huge hospitality and Dick Pescarolo for putting up with my percussive snoring and farting.

Steve - did you visit Super U for breakfast at all? I had an omelette one morning, washed down with a draft 50 cl Leffe which was reassuringly cheap at under €3.
