To quote Andy Zarse, BASTARD BASTARD BASTARD
My big (4 GB) CF card is corrupt, I can view some images on the camera, but accessing them takes for ever, and I CAN'T transfer them to the computer.
I don't have a dedicated CF reader as yet, (Should arrive on Fri) but in the meantime, is there anything I can try?
Cheers

There are quite a few CF card 'repair' gadgets but they all rely on direct access to the card, so you'll need to wait for the reader. I've manage to fix corrupted cards quite a few times and generally I go and download whatever repair tools are offered by that specific CF card manufacturer.

You will need a card reader and then a photo recovery program.
In all likelyhood you will have to pay for it, unless you're lucky; but I am only thinking £20.
Won't recommend anything as I'm on Mac OS X so uncertain of Windoze progs.
Thought I'd lost all of my pics of Prague but easily recovered them.

Be aware this could take up to 24 hours to sort - I had a 1gb card that bailed on me completely, and it took 5 hours to recover the data photo by photo.....
Good luck mate!

Success (Of sorts)
Now I have a CF reader, the photos of the kids on the card have moved over to the computer without too much hassle (It's these ones I really wanted) and the LM ones may, or may not be unaffected.
Thanks for the pointers / encouragement etc.
I'll post the best LM pics (If indeed I get any) when I get them off the card. (My photography is very much a 'percentage' game. But then I did take over 1200 pics this LM)
If I get a dozen decent ones that will wear blowing up, I'll be a very happy man. Particularly if some of the group C's are worth keeping.
