I know this is mostly a sportscar racing site, but I also know that we have a few drag racing fans on here as well. Two time NHRA Top Fuel Champion Scott Kalitta died of injuries sustained in a crash at the Lucas Oils Nationals, in Englishtown New Jersey yesterday. His death follows on the heals of Eric Medlen's fatal accident last season, as well as the shunt that seriously injured NHRA legend John Force.
Scott was 46.

A sad loss. His dad Connie helped Shirley Muldowney achive her wins, and the film is both a classic, and a good insight into drag racing.
At least he died doing what he enjoyed.

Thanks for the news John. Indeed, the Kalitta clan were pioneers in drag racing.
Here's one of Connie's early 'Bounty Hunter' cars.
