Following on from previous posts about Shelsley Walsh, Montlhery, Reims, etc I visited Brooklands a couple of weeks ago for a look around the museum and to crawl through the undergrowth for a look at the remains of the circuit.
I was (pleasantly) surprised to find there is a lot of it still in existence. However, for various reasons, it has been sectioned, built on or buggered about with for about 1/4 of the length of the outer circuit.
If you're interested, have a look here
http://www.brooklands.org.uk/intro.htm
and here
http://www.brooklandsmuseum.com/
for more information.
Plus I'll subsequently post some photos of the circuit as it is today - pictures in the order of the original anticlockwise direction of the circuit.

What a brilliant idea! A lawnmower grand prix that will clear the weeds as well ;D

Thanks for the pictures :D I used to sneak over onto the banking by the River Wey when I was at college nearby. It was British Aircraft Corporation land in those days, and technically tresspass :o
I didn't realise there was so much of it left, although it's a bit worse for wear that when i saw it last :'(
