Title: Is Blue Nord the new Maison Blanche for 2009?
Post by: smokie on February 09, 2009, 06:35:25 pm
I've been told that 78 of the 90 tickets which Team Langoustine had for Blue Nord have been snapped up by Club Arnage members.

I fully appreciate that you may regard purchasing from an "agency" undesirable but, they would be very happy to take anyone's money:)  I also realise that this thread is bending the Club Arnage rules, but it is intended to assist members rather than be an advert.

So if anyone is short of a ticket and wants to join a load of other CAers on Bleu Nord then there they have 12 tickets left - but be quick! Mail theguys@teamlangoustine.com

I don't know price, or whether these are marked pitches (and therefore maybe contiguous)

Lastly, I am not on a bung from them, nor am I in direct contact with them!!

PS Having now typed this, I am curious who the 78 are, as most people had themselves sorted. I can think of a few, but how did we arrive at 78??

UPDATE: I was somewhat impolite about agencies in the original version of this, but having now seen their prices I think that they are actually very reasonable, and are a good solution to many peoples problem. SO I've modified it.

We're on Bleu, which is what I asked for, having found last year that it was really convenient - and it saved us a few Euros to boot.  Thus I can't imagine why anybody would pay agency prices.

By the way - why is it Blue Nord?  Bleu Nord or Blue North but a mixture of the two? ???

Post by: Rusty on February 09, 2009, 06:52:23 pm
They are marked pitches and are priced at £65 a pop which is a tad over but not the £90+ being asked by other agencies, also no need for 2x GA tickets per pitch as with other agencies which is generally where you get screwed. The ACO are asking €53 IF you can get them directly from them, lol.

I think it's a heads up for Andy there Smokster otherwise it was going to be BSJ for a great many bods.

£65 strikes me as not bad at all, for an agency, I have to say.

Smokie,

A lot of us didn't get any of our choices from the ACO.

Word was spread by PM and now there are a load of us in one site and we can make the best of it. BTW, DfH will be there are well.

So we are going to have the biggest non-stop party of the year, the 2nd being in August.

We were allocated BSJ (last year we were lucky to be on dry ground ie. not SWAMP) and some others on miniscule sites. We are now together and partying.

As the ACO didn't allocate what I ordered - they offered me BSJ instead - I was glad to be able to order 10 tix from TL. The surcharge is absolutely reasonable from my point of view and I hope they'll be able to get all pitches for CA members in the same area - which will most likely then be the epicentre of all Le Mans party activities.

So Team LeMansZone will be there, app. 20 people with our cooling trailer, fireworks, loads of beer, a giant BBQ, a chinese slave (our genny ;D), our new rain-proof dancing hall (a 40sqm party tent), flag pole and our stainless-steel-mobile-shower-unit with integrated fireworks-rocket launch pad.

Cheers

Werner

BTW: We'll arrive Wednesday

Once we find out that we'll all have adjoining pitches we might think about getting organized, e.g. like putting all gennies in one place so the noise of these will be restricted to one area and other things, just a thought.

Cheers

We should have some very exciting news to announce after the weekend of 21/22nd Feb so watch this space.

Last year was number pitches, but even the organisers could not work out where was where.  Even argued between themselves on the numbering system.

May be different this year

Post by: Rusty on February 10, 2009, 01:16:38 pm
It is all numbered and Andy said that they will all be together as much as the ACO layout allows. He'll supply a site layout once he has one.

In addition, he has also said that he'll happily sort this again for us next year if it all works out OK this year, hopefully taking out the worry and misery that most of us, particularly those with larger groups to organise have seemed to suffer at the hands of the ACO over the last couple of years.

Well I'll be dipped in dog sh*t!

My ACO allocation has just dropped on the mat - 6 x Blue Nord! - however, I've already sourced sufficient tickets for BN from elsewhere.
They've also allocated me 8 x Sommer and 8 x Lagache tribunes.

Customer number - 18*** / 154***

We did organise a genny, producing 100 kW of power and cheap diesel to run it on,  only a low humming sound, having said that, you would need a truck to bring it down and we do not have a big enough group next year to supply or bring it along me thinks. One could look into getting one locally, Bas knows some people who can organize it, give him a heads up if you want this to happen. Provided of course everyone is relatively close together. That year at MB there were no numberd pitches and we secured space for people coming late. So the lines were relatively short and power was in abundance!

30 KW Roy, not 100. Bas has some contacts in the region, who might be able to help us, the 12 of us joining this year won't be able to bring down a 1,5 ton genny, sorry. I'll give Bas a call/mail later this week about it, let'S see what we can arrange!

Peter is unavailable this year obviously.

I've agreed  to undertake this based on a spreadsheet. We need to keep this format due to the amount of people and campsites.

But, should you decide differently and just have numbers, you will not know where people are, thier numbers etc unless you know thier personal contact details.

2007 was pretty busy with a big Brethren group, a big DfH group, a reasonable size Team JPC group. a similar sized SPS Crew, plus Team Zarse, Vegas, Delboy etc all within generator distance of each other. Then The Liverpool Boys, Stu, Big H, Sav, etc were not to far away over the road and Piglet and KK, Smokie, Canada Phil and Gab just down the way too.

I think there will be more groups together this year.

Numbers wise.......I think it's going big.  :D

Fun wise, I think it's going to be manic!!!!  ;D

Fun wise, I think it's going to be manic!!!!  ;D
So do I................ >:D

We've just got our allocation, and we've not got MB again, so Blue Nord here we come.

After last years little problems, does anyone know where we can get telegraph poles from?

For that real Steve McQueen security fence

Better get a bloody big steak to secure my generator this time.

In fact - better get it working  ::)

err.... good luck with that, it wasn't sounding too great the day before it was "borrowed"

Prehaps they are going to turn it into a 'Driving Experience' track for all the nobs on corporate jollies.

They were fishing for info but nothing was given away... only that we will see them in June!

Someone had a Haras fenced area next to the toilet block and had running water and power (big generator), big marque and the stuff.

The Liverpool boys were camped near them so would know more, thats if it is the same group.

Full of MX5 when I went passed.

It would be terrible if we didn't have anyone to share BN with in 2010 .

Just to update the last post Team Langoustine now have another 7 pitches to add to the 10 already available, as the ACO have come through for our group and sent us a letter this morning offering us our allocation of BN having previously offered us Pincindere. So we have cancelled the reserverd pitches with TL and taken up the ACO allocation. So TL now have our 7 spots available again.

Ladies and gents.
This is a TL update on your Bleu Nord passes.
The tickets and campsite passes have at last arrived at TL base camp.
They will be distributed this coming week.
If you have not sent your mailing address to TL, then please do now. If we don't have it have already, then we will be in touch anyway, but it might save a day or so.

Look forward to popping over and seeing you all once in France and of course you are welcome in our dedicated site inside the circuit at the Tertre Rouge/Mulsanne corner. (Beer on tap etc)
Regards
Andy on behalf of the guys @ TL

What was the cost per pitch with TL, and did you need to pay for GAs at over face value.

If the cost per pitch was reasonable and no need to pay for expensive GAs then I'd go for this option for 2010 if it was available.

Don't see why we can't do this every year.
However, wait until you have had use of the pitches, as next year the same will be offered. If you are happy, then they are yours.

Andy sent it to me via email - here's where I think it maps...

The yellow area is the CA section - the red blocks are my bookings.

Title: Re: Is Blue Nord the new Maison Blanche for 2009?
Post by: ewan on May 23, 2009, 01:46:53 am
In more detail... the black blocks on the vertical & horizontal are the Rang/Place numbers - apparently the actual numbers in the cells don't mean anything ( :-\)

So all that said - anyone in the areas surrounding the red blocks, I'd be willing to swap with you if it could mean us end up with a contiguous section...

eg if you're in R22 P91/92 or R23 P91, how's about switching to R24 P79 etc... it'd be too much hassle to sort out on site, and too hard to coordinate a single group campsite with multiple driving lanes cutting through it :|

Title: Re: Is Blue Nord the new Maison Blanche for 2009?
Post by: JPS Beemer on May 23, 2009, 09:19:17 am
Barry

It works like co-ordinates.  To start, you are in Parcelle B which is obvious right?

Then, the larger numbers work the x-axis (left to right) and the smaller number the y-axis (top to bottom).  Ignore the numbers in the pitches themselves and refer to the black scale.  In this case your pitches look like they face each other across an access path and have the numbers 89 and 91 in them respectively (the 5th pitches up from the main red shaded blocks).

Smokie - you will be higher up (if you extend the y-axis in descending numbers) and further to the right in the same parcelle.  In this grid shown you are on the right hand most strip (the number in your pitch is actually 98).  Your sold pitches will be in a 2x3 rectangle above you.

For clarity, B1 would be the strip of pitches that run along the top of the picture.

I'm in Rang 1 so right up by the fence next to the airfield but further west in parcelle H.  Looking forward to seeing the marshalls try and control it if they've done a bunch of weird allocations.

OK, to ease some of the confusion, here's a pic with the correct numbers in the boxes... it just gets too confusing otherwise...

And well done Barry for starting up the Swap Shop  (http://www.clubarnage.com/forum/index.php?topic=9695.0) thread - suggest we all use that to coordinate.

Spreadsheet map is attached below.

I tried as a *.xls and a *.pdf. No go.

Please help.

Please help.

Click on 'Additional Options' at the bottom of the 'Reply' page - then insert the name in the 'Attach' box.  It won't show as a table in the reply - just the name of the file that anyone can click on.

Apologies for inflicting Google Docs on you (those who know me may realise what a wrech this is) - I've posted my XLS to http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=rvNu8cTjn0qphOgdsVFK6rg

Anyone should be able to edit - what I'd suggest is that you colour your spots and add your name to the "key" list.

Are you sure? Or do you have even more passes?

I cannot even find our numbers on the sheet

AFAIK we have 25 - 88, 26 - 88, 26 - 89

this spreadsheet doesn't seem to have us on it, if it did we'd be in a pathway according to it

I am still NO WISER

Sorry, just realised that I hadn't completely replaced the numbers in the boxes all the way across. In the original sheet, the actual coordinates are set by the black lines not the numbers in the cells themselves (why anyone would design it like that, who knows). I've updated all of the rest to show the right numbers IN the cells.

http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=rvNu8cTjn0qphOgdsVFK6rg

Perdu - I've added yours in.
Garyfrogeye - can you check your number? I didn't think there was a Place 97)

cheers

Brilliant Ewan

 :D

even I can work out where we'll be  8)

"Now, your next task should you be willing to accept it..."

Toby reckoned we have some friends on F26. 45 and 46 (and we'd love to get them into our nice little bit) but I can't see a 45 or 46 at F. Any chance of showing me where they will be?

Please...

AH WELL, er look see I think I have put them in, in the right place

can someone please have a look and tell me if I have screwed up the sheet... ???

OK edited again looks as if I screwed up (so unlike me...sorry)

I've now got Nick and BobT in line with 26 and in the right spaces, sort of retained the colour we'd given them before

So, now who got those adjacent spaces I wonder?
Who got the ones by us and will they swap?
Do they know I snore?

 ;)

bill

thanks again Ewan

Perdu - I've added 26 - 45/46 in on the map. For what it's worth the Parcelle letter is irrelevant - it's the X & Y coordinates that matter. I guess the Parcelle will be of use in finding the spot on arrival, since (if I recall) they have giant letter boards running along the perimiter fence with the airfield.

For those who'll be new to BN, take note if the weather is hot - with the air traffic that tends to leave the airfield right after the race, there are often twisters that can tear up the campsite - I've seen gazebos flying 100ft in the air in years gone by.

That's if the pikies don't nick em, right enough - last year, our gazebo had been dismantled and was about to be shoved into the back of someone's car before they were scared away.

We are here Ewan, happy to discuss. I've sent you a PM.

Russ

Ewan I hate to confirm everyone's (ACCURATE) impression that I'm a barmybugger but BobT says (in another forum, elsewhere):

I'm in G11/21 and my son in G11/22

Problem is I cant see a row11 at 22 or 21

Please help the aged!!!

looks to be empty spaces there or maybe even over the fence in MB...

 :(

Perdu

Well, the map I have doesn't show those numbers, nor is there a 21/11 and 22/11 ...

I'd imagine Parecelle G is on the left as you enter the BN site (see http://www.clubarnage.com/forum/index.php?topic=9365.msg133388#msg133388 for an idea), which would mean G would be bounded by the side road, not the MB fence...

Looking at the map, it seems as though the bottom of the camping area adjoins directly to the standard Bleu Parking?

Does anyone know if that is the case?

And if so, is there any seperation/fencing to stop just anyone strolling into the camping area?

Yes, the parking is between the campsite and the road, and anyone can stroll in and stroll out with any kit not chained down

I think last year there was a fence separating the parking and camping area's, although it was easy get onto BN through Parking Blanc by foot.

There is (should be) a fence, however I think there is a pedestrian exit along it at some point, there are no checks on who walks in.
