Fabulo-so! Far too good for running up a flag pole I'd say.

Darling, the design is an instant classic. Clearly it pays an homage to the late sixties/early seventies McQueen era, 917s and Gt40s etc. In fact I think Steve would be proud to wear one whilst flicking the Vees at foreigners.

H, are you a fashion designer or graphic illustrator by profession? The Oswald Boateng of the sportscar world? Can you run us up some shorts too? And CA flameproof underpants? And a pair of WSs?

There is even room to insert next years ACO approved Commer poster on the back.

Mwah! Mwah! Chow beller.

Bloody excellant, I'll put my order in right now.

I also think the design has a certain England 1966 feel to it.

Wotcher Ian,

I know less than nothing about printing tee shirts. If we're going to go with it, then someone who does may have to step up to help out. I reckon it probably all boils down to mimimum numbers, so how about Smokie sorting out a mail shot to all of the 445 members, that should get some response, rather than rely on the select few who are visiting regularly.
Any volunteers to sort out the printing side?

H

Big game today boys...

H, I think your tallents are amazin, great design. But as for Andy Zarse, declaring that his modified version of Big H's T shirt, had a photo of my asrse on. I have to say after looking at it closley that my arse did not look that good.
Up the station.

Big H , preety damn good  son , top notch . Did you have any plans for the right sleeve , maybe leave it blank , then all the differnet clubs whose members login , can go down the local high street printer and get their club names put on , or even your CA login , although some would look silly...

I would be ready to order 10 for my lads.......

I was looking at about £10 each , when i considered them, will we be able to get them in XL sixes , to cope with the beer supporters ( english bellies )

I just moderate here, I don't decide policy. That's Chris & others.

Havng said that I think the design is really whizzo and I think we need to get doing something about it. Chris is US based but many of the regulars here aren't.

Any volunteers? Stu is a man with plenty of time on his hands usually - Stu, where are you? (Have I seen Stu recently?)

Brian

Actually this is a pic of a weightlifter who caused himself a massive personal trauma when he strained a bit too hard when lifting that extra two kilos. Basically the bottom dropped out of his world, split his pants and soiled those around him with what H would call "organic detritus". His wife said his was not allowed to go weightlifting again. Could be a metaphor for LM!

When I first saw this piccy, for some reason I thought of you and your lavatorial expolits on MB. Your grunting and straining noises in the morning were better than an alarm clock for us lot pitched near the bogs.

I would post a larger, better resoution version but it would be moderated away by the smoking one before you could say Soft Mick.

Great design, I'm jealous.  I think that if there is enough demand, we should definitely print these up.  BigH, send me a private message with your e-mail address and we'll refine the design.

I looked at www.t-shirts4u.co.uk.  It looks like a start, but I'd like to see more options (i.e. more companies doing the same thing).

We also need to figure out how many we need.  Smokie I'll leave this one up to you if you want it.  We need an exact number.   Maybe some women’s shirts too?

I can set up a paypal account to collect pre-sale money to pay for the costs of printing.

I'll run this all by Dave (He has the final word).

Quite right too, it's not for posting on a family website, although it's now doing the rounds on the net anyway.

However, if anyone wants to see it properly and also the very interesting script that gives the medical blow by blow account of the ruptured sphincter and prolapsed bowels of our weightlifting friend, then let me know. Pretty it ain't and you can't help feeling sorry for the guy. Whilst having a good laugh at his expense.

Only if they can be torqued up with an electric Philips screwdriver ;)

I'm sure Wishywashyman and I could persuade the rest of our crew that the Tee shirt is an excellent idea and we would be at or near the head of the queue to order some. Might depend a bit on the featuring of the weightlifting guy though.

What about different sizes? I realise this can become a bit of a nightmare with loads of differing requirements but XXL is fine for Wishy (and maybe some others) but I am of a smaller frame, despite having worked on the beergut for decades.

Didn't want to disappoint now did I ;)

Just had a look at the full quality version of the weightlifter - same curiosity as those rubberneckers who slow down to look at car crashes I suppose - but I wouldn't recommend looking whilst enjoying a sandwich at lunchtime.

Hi,
I like the design too, so would be up for a shirt. However, it might be better if it said Le Mans 24 Hours, rather than Le Mans 2004. That way we could wear it again in 2005, 2006 etc.

Smokie I'll leave this one up to you if you want it.  We need an exact number.

Gee Thanks boss!!

OK folks, please mail me on ca.tee.shirt@ntlworld.com - I need to know:

How many you want (pretty definite requirement)
What size you want (let's assume L, XL for simplicity)

Until we know better, I think we need to assume that these might cost up to £25 each. I know I'm wearing a polo with a much smaller logo and they were about £15 three uears ago. So if you have a price dependency please include that too.

I'm not going to look into sourcing these at the moment, my life is just too hectic!!! So if anyone has a little time on their hands....

I am very busy at the momwnt and will be for a while . 11pm is the only time i slow down.

Robbo,
I've got to sort out something for the back side, if you get my drift, and also a slot for the website address. So it may be a bit more than you get a quote for.
I'll get on it asap, but like you, time's tight, and there's no real rush.

Oh God, just the thought of the stuff has made my temples approach each other. I think I'll avoid it till next year, it'll taste so much sweeter.

So you've been on the Absinthe eh? -brave man. On a stag weekend somewhere abroad, it may have been Portugal, I spent an hour or two drinking Absinthe slammers. It was a passport to the underworld. Shortly after I got involved in what I was told was 'the ring of life'. This involved sitting around a table with a bunch of your 'new mates' and a bottle of Sambuca. The unlucky first participant (me, in this case) dipped a finger in the Sambuca, set fire to it, and then passed the flame onto his neighbours finger. Once everyone on the table could simultaneously hold up a flaming digit, then the ring was complete.

Obviously things didn't go quite as planned. I had to set light to my finger many times, just to get the ball rolling. Each time, there seemed to be more Sambuca sloshing around, the horrible sticky stuff was all over the table and to be honest, my co-ordination and eyesight had been shot to pieces by the Absinthe. After about the umpteenth attempt the flame got half way round the boys, when it was pointed out that the table and pretty well most of me was alight. There was no real exit from the bar, and I couldn't feel my legs anyway.

There are still parts of my body where hair refuses to grow, and I'm forever in debt to the barman with the soda syphon.

Drink Absinth with care and only those you trust.

H

Big H
Next time you are in Portugal try madronya slammers, a very intresting local beverage, ie fire water.

It was the last night of my honeymoon, out on the piss with the wife, when we bumped into the reps in a local bar. Knowing I was a bit of a fan of the local brew, they suggested I try a slammer or two. A couple of hours later we were heading for a club dancing down the street arm in arm singing 'Star Trekking across the universe' as you did in foreign parts in those days, when we rounded a corner to be accosted by one the the local constabulary, who asked us to be quiet. I was just about to ask him to point his fazer elsewhere, when  I realised that a fazer does not need to be cocked, as he had just done, but an Uzi does! As the ugly sod looked more like a Klingon than a decent member of the federation, decided that a quiet continuation of our journey would be in order.
No moral to this tale, just be careful of the local brew, and if I'm about to sing, stick your fingers in your ears. :)

I personnally prefer the "Le Mans 2004" and have a new one in 2005, 2006,... to prove every year you were here. It's a new pilgrim souvenir.

Title: Re:Tee Tee FN
Post by: Robbo SPS on September 04, 2003, 05:36:50 pm
I called a friend who runs a printers and have spoken about exact requirements,
I spoke about Big H's design and gave him the printed page to look at . I know BIG H is still doing the rear but the printer has told me that to get the lines matching front to back will be very expensive and hard . He recommends that the lines are just on the front ?? . I told the priner that the idea was to have the CA logo / web address on the rear , but dont know if there was anything else .

I am guessing that with 450 members and their friends etc , the orders would probably be over 100 , and with a white t shirt, the cost would be:

£6.50 + vat = £8 . Dont know what you think about that or how much Gilles can source them in France , but that is a good price and the T shirt is good quality .
I will quite happily arrange them if required once rear design is done and the cost doesnt go up too much.
The printer is allowing for 4 screens , and the design at the moment includes 3 ( red , blue and black ) .
I live in Portsmouth , 500 yards from Ferry , so delivery to most is No problem ( pick them up on the way or can arrange a postage charge . I am hoping to go Wednesday night to Le Havre, so can take other to camp site .

The printers price may change in the new year , and they get busy in January for pre summer propmtions etc , so it may be best to get them in early ?
What do you think ??

Title: Re:Tee Tee FN
Post by: Andy Zarse on September 04, 2003, 06:22:18 pm
Robbo,

£8? You little beauty! I think this is a freakin excellent price. You will definitly sell more than if they were £25, as was discussed earlier.  We obviously need clearance from Dave Davies boss of CA.

Go for it I say. Even if this does not allow for a prolapsed rectum etc, as there are more than two hues of red and purple in that. Still everyone can later customise their own teams shirts using a cheap computer/iron-on transfers.

Prepare to be bombarded!

I think my quote was ok , but i know the firm and they are good , they work via CAD printers. If people are happy ( dont want to step on any toes ) i will ask the printers to make one up . I will cover the cost, so if you dont like it then i will have a rather expensive one off.

How will you all see it , digital photos ?? or would it be a keep parcel force in business type operation .

BIG H - I presumme the CA wording on the rear will be in Blue ?? and if so , is it alright if its darker than the web page blue ( probably union jack blue  as this saves a bit of dosh ) .

I will see the people tommorrow and get it ordered , so you can decide .

I will ask about putting welsh dragons and stuff on , but because of posting to the US , is it better for someone Stateside to do it .

Will go as i have slipped into really boring mode and falling asleep at the PC .
The printers i am using are at www.tedclothing.com - havent seen the site so dont know if its good or not .

Ok, well we can assume 100+, Smokie might be able to give a more accurate number.  I know that Dave wants ten for the Club Arnage team and I think he or I should keep another ten for prizes or such.  Or helpful moderators should receive some too.  So that takes care of the whole CA team.

If you guys would like to print up examples and send them do Dave for review, PM me.

If anyone is familiar with Adobe Illustrator, we need a printable copy made in this format.  I have the logo in Illustrator format.  I just don't have the time to do it, but PM me if you do.

Title: Re:Tee Tee FN

I have spoken to the printers , and suggested that the cheapness may effect quality , and  that made the nice lady a little angry.. ::)

They will use a  screen for the design and the trial one being made will have the union jack on. I got very funny looks with the USA flag and Welsh Dragon thing , but have downloaded pics for them to print up and try .

As far as very large bellied people go and kids , they are waiting for their designer / boss type bloke to return mnday to see whats possible , so will let you know .

Why not have both ??

T shirt with the year on and Polo without the year , a little less flash ( ie no stripes ) that looks quite posh ??

I would be up for that , but i wouldnt be getting everyone in the group one, so numbers would be down to 1 or 2

I think that the great design that Big H has done would look best on a T shirt, I agree that a polo design would need to be a little less flash.

I think a large screen printed design better suits a t-shirt.  Polo shirts generally look better with a subtle embriodered  logo on the chest area.
I vote for t-shirts (as advised to smokie).

We would take about 6 tees, but probably no polos. Thats not to say they wouldnt look smart tho. We have Team Zarse tees as well and two shirts is plenty for a week away in France.

I agree with that Steve, and perhaps it might be more simple to just stick to T shirts.

Spoke to the printers today and they looked very squimish at the thought of a screen printed polo shirt , "cheap and nasty looking" was a reply given . They ONLY recommend stiching on polo's and will NOT print on a polo, it will effect the quality they wish to produce .....

So........

I'm wearing my Club Arnage polo right now "as it 'appens boys and girls" (to be said in true Jim'll Fix It stylee).

Vintage piece of kit this, donated to me by the Grande Fromage on the occasion of me helping out on the stand at the Autosport show a few years back!

Yeah rick I got two of those vintage polos this year, the whole team wore them the day of the race.  Maybe they will be worth something later?

I guess T's are the way to go here.  You  guys really need to check in with smokie on those numbers.  I'll set-up a pre-sale site with Pay Pal in in a few weeks when Dave gets back from the States.  That will hopefully pay for the printing costs.

OK at some point I'll merge emails received and numbers in this thread and come up with a total...email would be easier. Try smokie@stones.com

And don't forget to tell me your nickname here if you send me an email, it isn't always obvious.

The trial T shirt is  done. I just need to find a digi camera , to place the photos on the site . Hopefully i can get them on before friday ..

We can have different sizing , but they may affect the price due to quantities ordered . The motif will always be the same , it isnt really possible / sensible to down size the print as its a screen thing .

Pictures appearing soon on this thread !!!!
