Back in 2005, just after dawn the #91 T2M Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 RS had a
massive accident at Indianapolis, Xavier Pompidou sliding backwards off the
circuit through a access gap in the barriers and wrapping his car around a tree after the wheel broke.
There are very few pictures I can find of the accident and wondered if any CA's had pictures of the incident ?
Here's a reference on Planet LeMans to the situation I'm refering to :

On http://archive.dailysportscar.com/ (it's free) select "Race Series" from the menu on the left. Then select "Le Mans" and then "2005 Le Mans Race Archive >>" and then "Race Index". Then you will find a picture of the bent car on the bottom of the "Race Gallery 3" page. In a comment DSC said: "Poor old Xavier Pompidou: the left rear wheel on the T2M Porsche apparently broke at Indianapolis, and the Frenchman opted to go down the escape road at the left ander. The car hit a tree side on. He's OK apart from a graze on his arm. The Porsche is rather narrow and taller in the right hand door area - and a bit shorter and taller too.". Very nasty but lucky, too.

Nah, it shows how you shouldn't ever hit a tree. No matter what you're in.

Especially if you don't have protected no claims discount... I understand M Pompidou only had TPFT

Probably great at right handers. Designed for oval racing maybe! :D

Actually I think it was Road Traffic Act only.
