As a non-attender I just wanted to gauge peoples' reactions to the CA Camp on Blue Nord (particularly from the people who were on it :) )
Will it happen again, bigger and better next year, or do people have other plans in mind?
It's never to early to start planning you know!
Feel free to add comments regarding what was good and bad about it.

If it gets bigger and better I fear many of us will be arrested, in hospital, or dead rather than returning back to Blighty at the end of the weekend as happy healthy (kind of) people.

I agree, the devil on my left shoulder thinks bring it on and lets do it again... The angel is saying never again - I don't know what to make of it all just yet, I think I need to continue to reflect.

The only drawback I can see is that you can't say your farewells to everyone. Well you could be you would be there till a week next Tuesday.
In another thread someone said not so many CA shirts about this year. Well I think they were all concentrated in BN.

We had our base camp within sight of the brethren, melans, dfh ... it was great to be able to walk over iwth a beer in your hand anytime - as far as campsite atmosphere is concerned it was one of the best LM ever - and I'm going there since 1985!
Bleu Nord was a first one for me and all of us were positive surprised: A nice lawn, so no deep see camping when it rained, the toilets were really kept clean and I do have the impression that security was excellent - didn't see a single pikey and haven't heard of someone being robbed.

Rob, are you familiar with the work of 16th century artist Hieronymous Bosch? Well it was very like the Garden of Earthly Delights above. It was terrific fun of course, but Doris is right, someone's going to end up dead if this carries on. I'm utterly exhausted and smashed to pieces.

Also the "Gin Lane" engraving comes to mind

I have been to many CA gatherings over the years and seen many strange things but in my wildest dreams I never thought I'd ever see a grown man with a live crab gaffer taped to his bollocks :o

I must say the entertainment from the next door neighbours was interesting at times.......especially ther crab!!!!!!
It seemed to me that nobody wanted to be outdone and therfore a number of out compatriates ...I think by Sunday were a little burnt out.....but hey ho thats what it is all about ,after all we are all there for one reason.........the race.......everything else is incidental ,or is it a side show LOL ;D
Only a couple of moans......only because I am slowly turning into a grumpy old man,iit would be nice if the music perhaps was turned down a bit at say around 3am and not blaring until 5am.I do appreciate the younger generation do have a tad mor stamina than me :)
The other moan was the torture chamber showers......................"what no hot water"............Neil and I nearly had heart attacks....the water must have been fed through DFH's a beer pump ,it was that cold.

Even if anybody was sober enough at the time to use a camera, we were laughing so much it would have been out of focus.
But just imagine the scene, you realise that some one is behind you, you turn, and there is a bloke dressed is his underpants.
You then realise that emerging from each side is a claw.
No, it's not a terrible mutation, it's ***** with a live crab down his pants.
I'm not saving the crab abusers blushes, it's just that I was so wrecked I am confused which one of two people it was.
It does not take much imagination to draw up the short list though.
Jeremy RIP.

Hi all,
I stayed with some not CA friends at BN for the first time this year - sorry to miss the CA camp, but I didn't really see it. (Trouble with the eyes when exposed to alcohol...)
But the toilets where very fine in my opinion. Cleaned almost every hour during day time, from 6.30 in the morning until 7 at night. (Have never found out, which is AM and PM? 7 is mornig here in denmark, 19 is evening, it's so easy...)
Showers...they were fine - but there were not enough. Really, six cabins for all of us? Luckily woke early up for a piss both thursday and saturdy, only few people in line, got the shower, went back to bed. - And hot water both times! Or should I say, boiling hot for one minut, then icecold for 30 seconds, and then boiling hot again. It worked for me, kept the hangovers away ???
But all together a very nice capsite, great to get the tentpegs in, not too hard or soft, and fine security all over, saw only the 6 french jugglers there were camping up the road, but they didn't make any trouble, only a lot of noise.
And then, this year, I was sp lucky, to have my english vocabulary increased. I really did not know, that "f**k off, you cheese-eating surrender monkeys" ment that the french gendarmerie should go somewhere else and blow there whistles ;D
Thx for a great week.

It was great to be all together - but it would be nice to be back on MB for next year, so we don't have our complete group on Sunday afternoon staring at 3,5 inch screens with RLM shouting out on the radio. It gave me the feeling we might as well camp at a truck stop on the A1 to Paris :-\
I wanna walk out of my tent and see, smell and feel the cars come by!

Paddy, you still can. You've just got to exercise those little legs a bit further ;)

I say, bring it on!! (But would prefer 'infield', MB, with the traditional DFH stage et al.)

Well, if it was fed through our beerpumnp it wouldn't have been that cold, as the bloody thing wasn't working as it should be! This is the second but also the last time this beerpump will be seen in Le Mans!

Third time actually, it was a loaner once for JPC's keg!

I know, but it's the second time we used it, and got fed up with it!

I do have photos but after the discretion and restraint shown by those that have photos of the unfortunate incident that I was involved in last year I will apply "Vegas rules" to this one too.

Correction again. First time it came to Le Mans was in 2004, and it worked correctly then on Heineken. I get the feeling it just doesn't like German beer - so my guess is it's just a discriminating piece of machinery. German draft machines tend to like German beer better, let's stick to that from now on!

If it's any consolation, the beer pumps in the Members' Grandstand bar failed on Saturday afternoon, just when the sun was at its hottest! The queue got a bit long while they found an alternative!

I too have photos, and no Bob U style incident in 2008 means I have no reason to not post them. >:D

Minor correction. It was loaned to us for our kegs........but didn't fit!!! ::) :o :'(

Big thanks to Lord PP for the car pass so we could get a shower, as we were unable to get past the gate police due to our pass only letting us trackside where no showers were provided !!
Although they did see fit to provide us with two toilets for about 50 and a water tank that ran dry on Friday !!
As we didn't get over during race we missed all the action there but it certainly seemed a good gathering if a bit remote from the track unlike mb.
