Title: Rare shot of JLOC Lambo at Le Mans Post by: Grand_Fromage on June 17, 2009, 08:42:04 pm The JLOC car did not turn many laps at Le Mans so this is quite a rare shot....

Judging by this (hilarious) image, your photoshop skills are still pretty terrible! I see your photoshop skills are improving ;) Don't let Rex see this - he'll very much mis-read her name and who knows what we'll end up with!! And Monsieur Fromage - What, may I ask, were you doing sleeping in a house, and not joining the masses on Bleu Nord?? And Monsieur Fromage - What, may I ask, were you doing sleeping in a house, and not joining the masses on Bleu Nord?? I did a decade of staying in Bleu Nord and had a marvellous time, but then I moved to the other side of the catch fencing. Having a job to at Le Mans is not really compatible with staying on a campsite (however attractive the prospect of campsite camaraderie). I love to be at the heart of things in the press room and on the pitlane, but I also have pangs of nostalgia for the time that all I had to worry about was running out of beer! And how is Chateau Incomplete? ;D Or have they finished it? ;) Or have you moved your lodgings? :o Title: Re: Rare shot of JLOC Lambo at Le Mans Post by: Grand_Fromage on June 17, 2009, 09:55:09 pm ...... of the house where we were staying at Le Mans. And how is Chateau Incomplete? ;D Or have they finished it? ;) Or have you moved your lodgings? :o Chateau Incomplete is still incomplete, but sadly Sylvie and Alain parted company last year and the house is up for sale. Sylvie managed to find us a new place in Yvré Le Polin this year. It is slightly more distant from the circuit but has the advantage of an indoor swimming pool. Title: Re: Rare shot of JLOC Lambo at Le Mans Post by: Lee Self on June 17, 2009, 10:24:39 pm I still think everyone has completely missed the boat on the JLOC entry and Le Mans participation.
allow me to explain. I'm a rich Japanese businessman. I'm a member of the Japanese Lambroghini Owners Club. I'm asked by our treasurer to pony up "X" yen for a wonderful trip to Le Mans. So me and 50 of my best friends do just that. One of us writes a lovely letter to the ACO asking to compete in there wonderful race. We are Japanese (they really want us there) We have a GT1 car (ok, so it hasn't run yet, but we'll get to that) With our entry we get tickets, a block of grandstand seats, a hospitality suite overlooking the pits, a chef, parking spaces, etc. so the car doesn't make practice, hey we're working here, so we don't qualify, (see french love us above) We were on the grid and all had our pictures taken with the car. After our first (and only lap) our entry retires, damn shame, so, up into the hospitality suite for sushi and crepes, plenty of time to walk the grounds, a place to sit in the tribunes... sh*t sounds like a great day at the races to me. I don't see the problem. have you looked at the cost of a group package for 50 that includes this kind of access?? see, really quite simple. ;D Title: Re: Rare shot of JLOC Lambo at Le Mans Post by: Steve Pyro on June 17, 2009, 10:46:22 pm Yes Lee. Plus I thinks it's pretty poor form that another, more deserving team on the reserve list was deprived an entry because of the JLOC farce.

Plus I thinks it's pretty poor form that another, more deserving team on the reserve list was deprived an entry because of the JLOC farce. Exactly what I was thinking all week. "Real" teams didn't get an invite or were put on the reserve list, but those Japanese "nitwits" got into the race. I guess their wreck was on "warp-speed" when they pushed it around the scrutineering area ::) Title: Re: Rare shot of JLOC Lambo at Le Mans Post by: Lee Self on June 18, 2009, 12:11:30 am it was a joke. ::)
ha-ha ... :-\ oh well, joke 'em if the can't take a f**k. I thought it was funny -Lee Title: Re: Rare shot of JLOC Lambo at Le Mans Post by: knetter on June 18, 2009, 11:51:17 am I thought it was funny to Lee!
Title: Re: Rare shot of JLOC Lambo at Le Mans Post by: Pastis_JPC on June 18, 2009, 06:50:06 pm The JLOC car did not turn many laps at Le Mans so this is quite a rare shot.... I hate to tell you this, but that in fact is the latest thing in stealth aircraft from Italy! Look at it and you will see that with all extrusins retracted, you can't tell which way it's facing. And - it can travel just as fast backwards as forwards!! :D Title: Re: Rare shot of JLOC Lambo at Le Mans Post by: 6 Euros - JD on June 18, 2009, 11:32:54 pm The JLOC car did not turn many laps at Le Mans so this is quite a rare shot.... And - it can travel just as fast backwards as forwards!! :D BUT - you have to give them credit for a wonderfully sounding engine. When they were working on the electronic (ECU) problem that had them so pitifully down on power, they at one time revved the engine to max in the garage ... and KEPT it there for 10 seconds or more - several times. (and we were sitting almost directly above their pit) However, already before the race the team owner decided to only parade around the first lap and call it a day, as the engine management problems made them dangerously slower than the fastest cars. Tortoise or not - personally I will hope they get the car going (as it actually has done fairly successfully in 4 hour races at Suzuka) - I love the sound and shape of that car. /Djet Title: Re: Rare shot of JLOC Lambo at Le Mans Post by: Robbo SPS on June 23, 2009, 06:07:25 am Radio Le Mans said they were ripping bits from a road car hours before the race, which doesnt boad too well.
Has the JLOC entry ever got anywhere at le amsn ? With teh Jap LMS series, they would have to keep some form of Japenesse entry. Title: Re: Rare shot of JLOC Lambo at Le Mans Post by: Chris24 on June 24, 2009, 12:44:17 am Anyone else manage to catch it on what I believe to be its only lap in qualifying. I got it ! :)

Title: Re: Rare shot of JLOC Lambo at Le Mans Post by: Grand_Fromage on June 24, 2009, 03:26:59 pm Lambo don't have a great record at Le Mans, and... they don't have much of a history of success in any kind of motorsport.
