This may have been raised before, but does anyone know the dates for next years race ?
Thanks
Jem

Speaking from experience, not even the ACO themselves will know untill somewhere end of this year or even as late as early next year. Traditionally it's the 12th weekend for Sebring, 24th weekend Le Mans, 36th weekend Silverstone LMS and 48th weekend the Rotterdam meeting. Info on the latter to follow soon! ;D
-
Le Mans hotels online are showing no availability for the weeks running up to Saturday 1th and Saturday 19th.
Sitting on the fence.
My money would be on w/e 12th/13th, which is week 24.
-
48th weekend the Rotterdam meeting. Info on the latter to follow soon! ;D
Oh yeeessss 8)
-
I've already booked the 13th/14th off. Chances are I'll have lost my job then anyway but thought I'd play safe!
-
and 48th weekend the Rotterdam meeting. Info on the latter to follow soon! ;D
Hoooooray!
-
I'm guessing 13/14th myself but need to firm up on other things .
Thanks for responses.

Surely only an idiot would do it on the same weekend as England v New Zealand at Twickenham on 21st November and I've met Paddy, he's no idiot ;D
-
Well, I'll be at my mum's birthday in France on the 7th, so there's only one weekend left ;)
-
Hmmmmm 14th seems to fall conveniently close to my birthday - which means I can claim it as my birthday present from the missus...Hurrraaahhhh! >:D

Mine too.... oh dear! >:D

Livingstone bratlet #3 due in mid november, so, maybe not this year either. :(
-
Just checked the diary, weekend that is best guess for LM 2010 is actually 12/13th June.
-
I tend to agree with you Barry. However, Lets not count any chickens yet. :-)

Any more recent insight into this? I'm flying on miles and would like to get it sorted ASAP. Coach award seats are already gone on my preferred flight for the possible 12/13 dates. ::)
-
No news on any of the sources I use.
Did find return ferry crossing yesterday.
Norfolk Line Dover to Dunkirk £41 return :: Out Weds 9th June & Back Mon 14th June.
Very tempted to book it.
-
Landman
I think that the Dover Dunkirk route is unlikely to go up much if at all, I paid less than £30 one way this year booked in Feb (or there abouts), return wasnt much more. Even just weeks before the price hadnt increased.
Good route though if a bit further up the autoroute.

Well, I booked my airfare anticipating the 12th-13th race date. This ought to ensure that it's the following weekend, so I recommend making your bookings based on that. ;D
-
Isn't also time already to look into flights to Orlando next year march? ;) And what are the appropriate dates for that?
-
I've been checking on those fares for a while now. ;D
The Sebring race date is March 20th. Tickets are already on sale at http://www.sebringraceway.com/12hr_tickets.lasso
Prices are up AGAIN this year. $100 for the 4-day and $25 per car for parking/camping.
-
I said it last year, and I will say it again this year. The best time to book flights to Orlando for Sebring is in November when BA and Virgin have their sales. It has been like this for the last four years.
Normally sub £300 from Gatwick.
Pay attention at the back...

I checked today, and now it would be 460. So I'll wait till november.
-
Stu has a contact at BA so if anyone has specific dates they'd like to check now, he can usually get the best available. BA are selling flights rediculously cheap so I don't know what the likelyhood is of them falling further. I guess it wont hurt to hold out 'til November. We're flying out to Orlando in September for 2 weeks for £235 each!
-
Will we have any Melans going to Sebring?
-
I wont be there next year, not sure about the other Melans. We shall see. I have a lot of home improvements to spend money on over the next 6-12 months extending Maison Melans... It's only the fact that our US trip in September is working out at less than a trip to Spain that we're venturing to the US at all... One day we'll make Sebring! Stuart really wants to go as well.
-
Vic, going out on 13th, coming back on 27th is what I'm looking at at the moment. Would cost 460 quid right now. from Schiphol it would be 480 euro's though, which is cheaper.
-
There are a few hospitality firms selling places for the 12/13th Weekend.
None of the dover calais companies of Portsmouth routes are selling their spaces yet.

Where have you booked to fly to??

Mark, and the Melans, are you going wednesday to monday and via the same crossings as normal?

CDG. Planning on doing the TGV to Le Mans unless a spectacular car hire deal shows up.
I'd prefer doing a longer LHR or AMS trip, but my company got bought out recently and the word on the street is that I'll be losing 2 weeks of vacation next year. :P

I ended up using Brittany to Caen this year because I got a good deal at the last minute and it was a much nicer boat and a much shorter drive so may consider that again, but if they are doing their normal Pirate pricing for advanced bookings then we'll be doing LD again.
-
Still Wed to Mon though?

Hi Chop I did that this year. it works very well. If on Houx camp site even easy to take the tram to the track.

Indeed. What are you up to next year. Big group again?
-
Not sure yet. I quite fancy the idea of just driving down in a car with a tent on board instead of taking the van packed to the rafters with ebay goodies.

How does 400 euro's roundtrip from Amsterdam sound? ;)

I just had a call from one of the well known ticket agencies confirming their pricing for next year, they were obviously hit hard with the swing in the £/Euro rate as there is a significant increase in price
Camping permit Masion Blanche - £110 up from £96.
General admission tickets - £70 up from £68
Grandstand seat Sommer £180 up from £162.
As I had booked and paid for the tickets for this year back in October 08, price were even cheaper.
They have already sold their MB allocation based on the previous years customer list, and have a waiting list for anybody wanting to camp in MB. However they have indicated that a number of the regular customers will not pay the price for MB, so the waiting list is taking up the released permits.
Looking at the ACO price list of 65 Euro against todays rate, the £ price is £60.
Time to decide what to do ::)
-
Nothing confirmed as far as I'm aware, but I'm also starting to wonder about the dates... Anyone know? QV

The ash tray looked remarkabley clean when it wizzed passed me last week on the way out of chester and the pilot was looking very unpikey like in a shirt and tie. Funny thou Kev did not acknowledge the 2 beers please wave ::)
-
Anybody going through TL next year? They sorted it out this year for us on Bleu Nord.

Much like arrival of the Chavalier in 08.... I wonder what happened to the legendary beast after her £60 ebay sale?
Smashed to bits on a banger track is my hope. I loved that heap.... :'(

I wouldn't mind another CA-BN-Compound this year, it was nice last year

I certainly enjoyed Camp Carnage last year.
And where we were was very conveniant for the stands and village, certainly closer than some of the outer reaches of MB.

LD Lines have now some some prices up online.
Currently quoting me £103 return Pompey/Le Havre, leaving Pompey 23:00 Weds night, arriving LH 08:00 Thurs.
If I want a cabin it's £65, so a total of £168.
Return leaves LH at 17:00 Monday and arrives Pompey at 21:30.
Both journeys are on the Cote D'Albatre NOT the Norman Arrow [which is the big fast cat].
No bookings yet available for Norman Arrow.
