This is very tempting. Spa, Minneapolis then back in time for Le Mans. Just need to work out the cost, and hope to take a couple of passengers

Oh, FFS!

BTW, don't bother travelling over on Thursday 1st. It's a public holiday across Europe. Europe will be closed!
Looks like I'll be heading up 1st thing Sat a.m. from Lux, as I did last year, and with added Ben.

Candle lit dinner of frites avec sauce Andeluce, washed down by a flagon of Jupiler on Saturday night.

Supermarket shop on Sunday before the ferry home.

Not seeing any problems there, Neil!

No no! I think you have been misled. I am only going so as to indulge in my love of sports car racing. During times of no track action I intend to spend my time learning about the history and admiring the natural beauty of The Ardennes. There will be no time for shenanigans and partying.

I've been searching there too, also with no luck. I'm pretty sure 2013 tickets went on sale around Feb?

Last year the guys just pitched up under the trees on the parking down towards Eau Rouge. I think if you've a ticket/parking pass, which were only €25 last year (combined), then you can camp where you like - unlike Le Mans.

As I'd booked tickets online last year, I received an email yesterday advising that they're now available to buy for 2014.
Price has increased to €28, but still much cheaper than many other motorsport events.  ;D

Lot better than the £40 on the gate or £35 in advance Silverstone charged for last weekend.

The route that avoids Brussels is surely the better bet, especially on a Friday.

Wishy,

From Dunkirk, head to Lille, Mons, Charleroi, direction Namur (E42) then stay on the E42 to Liége and Spa from there.
The Brussels Ring is crap at any time of the day, although the E42 from Mons>Charleroi has ~22km of roadworks, so speed's down to 90km/h, but it's still OK during the week - having driven to/from the UK in the last week.

Bonne route - look forward to seeing you guys on the Saturday!

Russell

My satnav has live traffic updates so will always take the fastest route. Last twice it has taken me round Brussells with no problems.

If the Brussels ringroad is anything like the Antwerp ring on a Friday (and I can't think it isn't) there is only one course of action: AVOID!

The advantage of taking the route via Namur (which is lovely by the way) is that you're closer to the Grimbergen factory...  >:D

After our foray to Zolder last August for the 24 hours......it would be best for one of our members not to visit "Grimbergen",as his metabolisim suffers when partaking in the ale!!!

Marius. I think we should have a kitty to cover the food for the weekend. I reckon about 10- 15 euros each should cover it, plus we need to contribute some cash to Bob for making the curry as it's only fair, as 20 portions or so of curry don't come cheap?.......especially with transport costs ;D

P.S....I think we need a roll call?

Actually enjoyed it ... walking around the track with a few friends, have a few beers, no stress, watch a race instead of looking through a lens all the time ... fun afternoon !
