Title: Nonmotorsport Festivals
Post by: aricus654 on August 01, 2015, 06:43:42 pm

Apparently there are festivals which have no Motorsport connection. Indeed I have found myself at one this weekend, Camp Bestival, and despite the lack of motor racing, it has turned out remarkably enjoyable.

I looked for Club Arnage flags, hats or t-shirts but have seen none so far.

Is anyone else straying off the purity of Motorsport related festivals this summer, or is it just me?

Lots of them ! Biggest festivals I went to in the past 2 months were Graspop Metal Meeting, Rock Werchter (thanks Dave Grohl for leaving me out for the third time in a row), Tomorrowland, Lokerse Feesten ... and several smaller festivals around here.  During the summermonths, you've got too much choice of festivals over here in Belgium.  Every weekend there are a few with pretty strong line-ups.

Also got tickets for South West Four in London (Faithless), but can't make it due to WEC at the Nürburgring.  If anyone's interested, I've got 1 spare ticket for Saturday.

I've just had a very pleasant (Adnams fuelled) long weekend at the Cambridge Folk Festival.  A whole load of different music, diddlee dee folk, arse stomping blues and everything in between.

Ahh Adnams - I do love it. It always seems to taste better in Southwold though.

My trip to Camp Bestive was fuelled by Goddards BestivAle, and it wasn't bad at all.

A few of the DfH guys go to Zwarte Cross every year. It is a motor cross, with a lot of different podia around it. Goes from blues, folk, rock, reggea to dance.

Blues festival for me this weekend, it used to be at Bentworth in Hampshire but is now in Worcestershire. Very small event, no more than about 300 people and I met Mr Toad from beermountain there a couple of years running some years back...

This one might be controversial:-

http://www.blenheimhorse.co.uk/

This weekend, Woodstock.

A few beers at lunch time, watch the F1-Kart qualifying, then across the road, over the wall and in.
Watch the posh-totty.

Anyone going??

A mate is good friends with the organiser of Blenheim and for many years he's been roped in to driving the buggies they use for moving competitors and general public around. Very posh totty from what I hear... also plenty of hooray henries. He says it a fun weekend though.

Not quite a festival - but... I will be appearing, with my band (www.blackmarketband.co.uk) for the evening at The Bier Keller in Bracknell on the 3rd October.

As you can imagine, with a name like the Bier Keller, they have a wide variety of...beer....

if some of you could come along to dilute the extraordinary number of drunken hen party fuelled girls, that would be appreciated very much..... :)

England V Australia Rugby scheduled on first from 8pm, about time we had a proper CA Le Man's debrief, they appear to have some offers on rooms or there is the Travel lodge a short walk down the road.

Update on the Rugby, it will definitely be on in one section of the Keller, more if there are enough people wanting to watch it, the band is due to start when the Rugby finishes.
