Club Arnage

According to various sources the Houx Campsite has an electrical hook up to every pitch as part of the booking fee. I've stayed there three or four times and have never seen this marvel of modern science.
Does anyone have any recent experience of this service and will I need any special type of connection / adaptor?

I believe that the definition of 'every pitch' omitted the following "providing you have a 100m + extension lead, a 64 way splitter plug and roll of gaffer tape"

We've been on Houx the past few years.  There are 'towers of power' near to the numbered pitches, each with around a dozen outlets.
But you're advised to bring a decent extension cable and the camping type adapter plugs to hook up.

Depends what you're plugging in, but whilst we use the moisture resistant blue plugs for caravans etc, the French use a normal French plug, so most of us have to carry one of these.

There is the risk that the ACO may have used the blue plugs in Houx, if they were feeling truly "International"

We carry one of adapters with a 2 pin plug , but on non LM campsites haven't had to use one for years, most camp sites you just plug in the 3 pin blue plugs.

I took a photo of a block 2 years ago. I will attempt to locate this photo and post here in the next few days.

I might add the cold water tap is in the same "tower" and there were several power splitters connected to several splitters on the electric side
 all with assorted euro plugs.

Sounds reminiscent of the spaghetti tree behind the bogs on the old Maison Blanche where we used to camp. I think there were two panels there but millions of people connecting to them. Amazing it didn't blow up...

We bring along 10-12 'Dutchies' to sort this basic issue... you have to have the right staff...

DO NOT take offense you lovely 'Dutchies' and no, I will not be on BBQ cleaning duties all week... But, looking forward to seeing you all again.

Those were the days!

The Danes had bought a big plasma and dish to get Sky (few years back then) so put a cable over the road to hook into a caravan that pugged into the post off a double adapter.  We then hooked a Dutch campervan into the Danes, then hooked in Len's camper and then my caravan, which then fed 4 tents, another caravan and another campervan.  Loads of cold beer that year, we never smelt burning, and it only tripped the once.

ELECTRIC HOUX   Sounds like a 70's band  ;D Are they playing Saturday night?

Electric for general purpose.

Because of refrigerated trailer and compressor Tab we even run a 4,5 kv gerny as well.

Post with electric are first come first serve, and indeed 50 meter as a minimum.

This was even before the pitches were numberd , and Sunday night at the gates for first come first serve tho get the best spot.
