Title: ACO Lounge Access
Post by: Rick101 on March 22, 2018, 06:30:16 am
Hi,

Guessing there are a few ACO members on here.
I've recently joined, 2018 will be my first year with ACO access.
I understand there is a members area at the Dunlop Bridge, inside track and also access to the lounge at the ACO grandstand.

You can take non member guests in with you for a cost of around 15 euros.
Do the guests have to remain with you at all times or do they get a wristband or some sort of pass which allows them access for the weekend without me being present?

Thanks

Rick

It's been a while since I had additional guests but I think they will get a wristband, access is controlled to people wearing a wristband, no other checks are done so I doubt you need to be with them.

Once you've a wristband, as an ACO member or as a guest, you can come and go from the enclosure as you / they wish

You just need to be with your guests for the initial sign in and issue of their wristband.  As said, once they have a wristband they can come and go as they like.

Where do we get wristbands from?

Front desk at the ACO enclosure.

Much obliged, is that the one in the village or the ACO grandstand?

Couple of questions have come to mind.

I have a spare grandstand ticket for T18 for the CLASSIC.
Is there a secondary check for ACO card on entry to the stand or is having the correct ticket enough?
Would the prospective buyer need to meet me for a wristband?

Secondly, not really relevant to me as a long way off but I did see mention of a lounge which you could only access after 6 consecutive years of membership.
I think it was up the North end of the circuit but can't find the web page now. Anyone know it or been in? What's it like?

Found it....
The Chinetti lounge is reserved for the longest standing Club members (those with at least seven years uninterrupted ACO membership)

Usually you need either a membership card or a wristband to get into the building, then they only check the grandstand ticket for access to the stand itself.

I wasn't aware of the Chinetti Lounge, where did you get the info?  do you have a link for it?

The Chinetti lounge is a new one on me too. As a 'long standing member' I've never been advised by the ACO of it's existence. A quick Google does not reveal much except an old reference to it on the Club website back in 2016 see here - https://www.lemans.org/en/news/24-hours-of-le-mans-vip-treatment-for-club-members/41185.

Perhaps it's existence was so poorly publicised that it wasn't used and now it is no more? More info please Rick101?

ACO - confused & out of date website - never!

If they fix that it just won't be the same.

Usually a quick call to Hélène sorts things out.

The link you have above is the only reference I have to it.

It is relatively recent so amazed it hasn't been published more. Maybe they only advise you once you become eligible.

There were a couple of places last year that I recall: a truck-like shop outside the ACO stand, or at the ACO lounge over the Dunlop Bridge (inside the track)

Well, we more than qualify for eligibilty status (23 years) but have never heard anything about it from our friends at the ACO. As per Landy_Jon's comment I'll give them a call and report back here...

There was another ACO enclosure inside the track just by the Ford chicane.
Not sure if it's still there.
Used it the first year it opened ( 4/5 years ago? ) and it was good, however the 2nd year Landman reported it was rammed.

Yeah the ford chicane one had a nice little viewing area outside too but disappeared as quickly as it appeared seemed to be replaced by porsche taking over a lot of that area if i remember correctly.
