Title: 2018 Concert
Post by: Rick101 on April 17, 2018, 06:47:19 pm
Am I right in thinking that the ACO have saved a few quid on the Concert? :(

I had hoped there would be something on the Saturday night even if not as high profile as the arrogant one but the latest email shot suggests otherwise.

THE MAIN CONCERT
AT THE 24 HEURES DU MANS
Friday 15th June 2018

I think thats the paid concert on the Friday isn't it?

Was hoping for a free concert up at Dunlop on the Saturday.
Friday night I'll be up the toon.

I see the MM Arena holds 25,000 for football matches. 40,000 for concerts. Will they fill it? I'm for the Guiness bar.

Concerts at the track have been announced this afternoon:

Wednesday 13 June 2018
21:00 ARCADIAN

Thursday 14 June 2018
21:00 Dr Feelgood

Saturday16 June 2018
21:20 YAROL & BLACK MINOU
22:40 TEXAS
00:15 DJ LORAN (RTL2)

Finally a decent band with Texas on Saturday evening.  Think I might pass by the Dunlop bridge instead of shooting cars then.

I just can't believe that there are two bands I've heard of.  I think I'll still ignore them.

I think this info completes the programme for the weekend

Love a bit of the good doctor - shame there's none of the original band left but the songs are still the same.

Jamiroquai concert now moved into the circuit instead of MMArena and free.
Tickets for the MMArena show will be refunded.

The Automobile Club de l’Ouest and its partner, Le Mans Stadium, organisers of the special concert initially scheduled for the MMArena, have decided to move the show to the very heart of the circuit and the stage near the Dunlop bridge on Friday 15 June. A real bonus for fans at the 24 Hours of Le Mans!

Thanks to Le Mans Stadium’s support, Jamiroquai is to top the bill in what is now a real festival of music at the circuit for 24 Hours fans with a Race Week General Enclosure pass.

The ACO already gave passholders an extra treat last year by offering racegoers free access to the 24 Hours Museum. That was a huge success and will be repeated this year.
The concerts are one of the highlights of this year’s Race Week with FOUR musical soirées at the circuit including Arcadian, revealed in Season 5 of the French version of The Voice on Wednesday, iconic British group Dr Feelgood on Thursday, Scottish rock band Texas on Saturday, and now the big Jamiroquai gig on Friday!

Lucky holders of a Race Week General Enclosure pass score a very special concert at no extra cost!

Meanwhile, anyone who has purchased a ticket for the Jamiroquai concert at MMArena can ask for a refund or can use the ticket to attend the concert (standing only) in the 24 Hours circuit enclosure. If they go for the second option, they will also be able to enjoy the world’s greatest endurance race and see all the other concerts at the circuit!

The ACO won't admit it, but apparently they hardly sold any tickets for this concert.

That is exactly what I thought when I first saw that the concert moved from MMArena  into the circuit  ;D

No suprise. How they thought they could shift 40,000 tickets is beyond me.

Get you ACO.
Sounds a bit posh for us Brits!  ;D

Going back some years, when we camped on MB, JK was performing at LM and the great man came for a wander round MB and sat and shared some beers with near-neighbours.

We only heard about it after the event, and I am not particularly knowledgeable about him or his music (except Virtual Insanity)

Just looked up - that'd be 2003 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwcR7_nEgrs
