Title: TWR
Post by: BigH on January 21, 2004, 08:26:45 pm
Hi y'all,
For those who are interested in this sort of stuff, the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust have just released a book, "TWR Jaguar Prototype Racers", which according to this snippet:
"includes complete car histories and the results of each race contested by every car, both in Europe and IMSA"
It can be ordered from JDHT on 02476 202141 (no price mentioned), and appears to have a lovely purple cover.

Now, I don't have any vested interest in this, it's just that sometimes these low volume little gems pass by unnoticed.

It just so happens that I can also offer a complete history of my bowel movements during the TWR years! Now that's something I do have an interest in.
Although I'd love to say they were also low volume and passed by unnoticed, I'm afraid to say the truth is somewhat more grisly...
H

Leaving aside the grisly subject of thunder down under, I saw said book at the Autosport International show a week or so ago (I think on the Chaters Books stand) and had an idle flick through - looked v good and comprehensive.  ;D  Sadly, I can't remember the exact price,  ???but I do remember thinking that it was not exorbitant. :)

A quick Google search brings up a US bookshop with it at $89.95 - that's the Jag book, not the log of H's logs!!

 ;D

Yeah, all we need now is Jack Davenport for the Mastercard voiceover (with apologies for you non-UK TV people on the forum!!):

Comprehensive book about the awesome Jags in recent years - £50

Bottle of something jolly fine & fruity to drink from Sainsbury's wine store while reading - £10

Midnight Oil required to burn because you couldn't put it down once you got home - £5

Mental images of many year's of H's movements - PRICELESS!!

 ;D

What about a DVD of Big Hs bowel movements with music by Jean Michel Jarre.Something for everyone in that combination. And maybe we could have a souvenir xray of the operational intestine and swabs of the colon in a small presentation pack.

If names of bands were anything to go by, maybe the soundtrack should be by The Darkness. And no doubt H's muffled screams might resemble the vocals too.
