Title: Simple question - to the experienced LM'ers
Post by: skorpio on February 26, 2004, 09:58:29 pm
This is probably a very simple question to answer from you expeienced LM'ers but I'm a 1st timer ;)   have got camping tickets for Beausejour, which has access under the circuit I believe, so when we arrive do we go direct to the site  -ie under/through this access tunnel - or do we have to enter through the main entrance ???

Also when we want to go into town (we're arriving monday) do we have to get a pass out ticket or what  ???

as I said probably dead simple to you lot, but not to us ;)
cheers in advance and looking forward to meeting all you lot in person ;D :D

When you collect your camping ticket and have stuck it to the windscreen. You can go in and out of the camping . car park anytime you wish.

My advise is that if you are having tickets sent to your home, go direct to Beausejour, find a spot , set up , then go exploring .

I was in BSR last year and the coming and going was no problem except on the Sunday after the race. The roads were a little full.

** Just realised you are arriving on Monday **  Take your time, No hurry.

You may even want to try the ACO offices to try and change your tickets, could be a good time to try .

Route to BSR.  - When you get into Le Mans from any of your chosen routes, follow the signs to BLUE camping . When you get to the circuit follow the road along past the standds , and the Blue / White Parking areas. Keep on that road until a roundabout , wherer you turn left , go under the track ( perminant road bridge ) and BSR is on your right.

Enjoy.

Hi Skorpio,

The camping ticket will (if they are like previous years) have a 4-colour patch on it - approaching LM follow the signs for the colour that hasn't been crossed out.

The campsites are (in the main) on public roads (although the gendarmerie usually put up road blocks in random places!) so you only need the camping ticket to get to BSR campsite.

If you haven't pre-ordered them, your race ticket can be bought from any entrance into the track areas themselves. There's numerous entrances (all of which a fair way from BSR unfortunately - I'm on the same campsite!).

You need to pick up a 'contramarque' (pass-out ticket) whenever leaving a trackside area. You then hand this in again when you go back to the action.

I've been loads of times bit never noticed that!

If your arriving Monday the gate staff will want some extra money from you, not sure how much and the loos may not be set up & working.

you might just find this link very useful (if it works)
its under porche curve ( arrow pointing to tunnel).

by the way no roundabout, it's the first crossroads after the stands and bleu and maison blanc campsites.

Although Iv'e stayed in Houxe Annex Ive never ventured by car along the back roads.  Is it possible to drive from BJ direct to HA?

I think that camping in Beausejour is covered by the ticket from Monday.  It used to be that way for all campsites.   But last year they changed it so you pay extra for Monday and Tuesday night.  But I'm sure I heard from some guy that they stayed in  Beausejour on the Mon,Tue without paying the supplement.

...and a huge concrete fence along the side of the road had appeared as well...it seemed to go beyond MB boundaries, so maybe someone is trying to annex some land...

No hope of an MB extension.

It's just to reserve some field and having no wild campsite
