Title: Drinking For Holland
Post by: Ballast on June 21, 2005, 07:42:46 pm
I would just like to say a huge thank you to all the guys at DFH who made all at Team JPC so very welcome. Your hospitality and company were outstanding. I can happily say that I now have a good many new friends in Holland  ;D ;D

I would like to give a special thanks to Paddy who worked like to trooper to create signs for our beer fridges, gazeebos and not forgetting the sign writing for "The Beast" All for the price of a couple of beers and the joy of Le Mans!

I hope to see you all next year.

Many, Many Thanks.

P.S. Has Roy recovered from the Tropicoma yet? ;)
P.P.S How the hell do you learn to speak dutch ;)

An honour to meet you guys too! 8)

Looking back it's all been worth it. About a year ago I thought I could do something with Le Mans, make it a bigger party. It's been a lot of work, but I'm glad it all worked out.

A big thank you to the JPC-guys for all the priveledge we got. You've all been supurb. The drinks were great, the food was great, the atmosphere was great.

It's been said before, but this is what Le Mans is about as far as I'm concerned. Yippyahee, party on dude! 8)

Roll on to 2006, I've already reserved spaces :D

See you guys at Silverstone :)

Thanks. :) I also would like to thank you for your hospitality on your site, that Tropicoma does kick ass. :)

And those ideas of joining forces, we should shurely look into that, that would be a genuine thrill!

Hello all  ;)

Just checked some of the photo's on my phone.. I think it was Wednesday night I told someone of the Dutch I'd keep an eye one him... According to the owner of the thing which suddenly appeared in my hand now I was really keeping an eye on him;

(http://www.simracing.nl/uploads/images/2005_06_22_19-53-29_medium.jpg) (http://www.simracing.nl/uploads/images/2005_06_22_19-53-29_large.jpg)

 ;D

As well, luckily my girlfriend couldn't remember that one of the JPC guys kept asking her over the phone if she was naked  ;D All in all I had a terrific week, and the definitive highlight of the week was, for me at least, the band. Awesome!

See you all next year in our pool.

That wasn't the worst part though Stu. The facxt that once you took it out you still drank the rest of the drink was!!  :-X

Oh, that and asking Steve if you could have a close up look into the recess where the eye should have been!!  :-\

It was still in the glass when I had a drink. Thought it was some fancy eye-ce cube (Groan).

Well where did I go wrong then? I visited the DFH boys and had a good chat, but was told not to bother coming over for a drink, as they had a deal where any undrunk beer was going to be returned for a refund. I made my stubby last about half an hour then had to leg it back to our camp for a top up!

Title: Re:Drinking For Holland
Post by: LangTall on June 23, 2005, 02:08:31 pm
Well than I wonder who told you so, cause we absolutely planned to drink all our beer! The only reason we had that arrangement was to prevent from getting stuck with some barrels, and we also managed to take the barrels with us without paying a 30 euro's deposit per barrel. ;D

Very odd indeed. We'll fill you up double next year if that's ok  8)

By the way, I downloaded The Cult - Singles collection something but still haven't found the tune which Radio Le Mans was playing every hour. Anyone know the title?

Svend you should know by now I'm a big Cult-fan, that was the only music I had on me this year ;D.
That song was She Sells Sanctuary, from the Love album.

BigH>> don't understand where that story comes from. As far as I'm aware every visitor got free beer offered.
Sorry mate :(

Paddy is of course right, it was She sells sanctuary. Great great track, and keep the Love album in my car at all times. But the over exposure began to get on my wick by the end.

Incidentally Paddy, neither I nor any of the other Zarses drank any of your beer either (with the possible exception of the Gimp?), though we seemed to have plenty of our own to go at. There must have been some very thirsty Dutch guys around!  :D

Strange,... Apart from Sunday night when we finished our last barrel we gave away beer to everyone. Where you guys inside the campsite? We didnt threw beer at everybody who was walking along offcourse,...
At least as far as I can remember everybody on the scafholder had our beer, even the ones I didnt know.

Oh yes... now I got it... it's the Cult. But which album ? Sven, we have the same problem.

The Flying Bagguetes really were my highlight..

Hope next year you will play again on our scaffholding. Maybe we should do some flyer promoting so it will be a big concert, you'll be bigger than the stones in a while lol.. (in fact your drummer looks like charlie watts)..

Can some from the band post the setlist please ? Or even better: the bootleg   ;)

As the Flying Baguettes official manager, I have no idea what the setlist was!

However I will get it and post it in due course.

Thanks for the kind remarks, it was very nice to have you guys around, it is save to say we all had a great time. That tropicoma did go down a little bit to well, puts you to sleep for ever, but I recovered from it after a couple of days.

Next year we will have to surpass this year, a difficult task, but I think we are up for the challenge since more people are going to be involved in organising the whole trip. Should be good fun. Thanks to the flying baquettes, it was one of the highlights of the week. Same time, same place next year.

Thanks to Paddy and all the drinking for holland guys for the cold draught beer and hospitality on friday afternoon. Your site was very impressive.
Shame we missed the flying baguettes but too much beer was consumed at our site on bsj and we had no chance of getting back to see you ;D.
Paddy and beerman, i hope Rhino's sloe gin didn't affect you too much ::).
We tried 4 bottles of his home made wine friday evening, this is why we never made it back to see you ;D.
