Title: DfH / CA meeting no.II; 24/25 November in Rotterdam
Post by: Paddy_NL on July 03, 2007, 10:18:37 pm
Hi all,

At Le Mans this year I had quite a few requests to repeat the "November Meeting" of 2006. To be honest, I didn't think of it at all before Le Mans, so I was kinda surprised to get a few reactions about this. Pursuasion wasn't really nescesarry - after all, we all had a brilliant time last year (see this topic (click) (http://www.clubarnage.com/forum/index.php?topic=5943.0), reactions on that weekend start at the bottom of page 17) ;)

JPChenet came up with the simplicity of 2007:
• Week 12: Sebring 12 hr
• Week 24: Le Mans 24 hr
• Week 36: Silverstone LMS
• Week 48: Rotterdam Meeting
It sounds ever so logic, we might even make a shirt for the event ;D

So here we go again. Here's the invite for a weekend of fun 'n booze, November 24 to 25 as stated. We're pretty early this year, and that's got a purpose: last year quite a few of you came by airplane, and the early announcement leaves plenty of time for the Brits (and Kiwi?) to book cheap tickets. Also ferry- and chunnel crossings should be pretty cheap if booked way up ahead.

Concept stays -after consulting with fellow DfH'ers- completely the same. The majority of DfH opts for an afternoon of go-karts, an evening of ribs & steaks at a funny restaurant (yes, they DID ask us to come back!) and a night of boozing at my office, only to crash out when tired 'n drunk on the office floor with brought sleeping gear. We can probaly help a little with the latter for those who fly in, let us know what you need...

Costs

• The journey is all up to you. As said before, most flew in last year. But you can also easily use the travel as a booze cruise for Christmas, like JPC did last year. At least the time is right for it!
If you do book a flight, please try to aim for Rotterdam Airport. If you go to Schiphol Airport, catching a train is inevitable and will cost extra money (unless you'd like to do a day of Amsterdam on the Sunday, like the Zarses did last year). It could be that flying to Schiphol would be a lot cheaper, it that case you might as well aim for that. There is a train from the airport to Rotterdam roughly every half hour, and costs about €10,- for a single journey. Try and book your flight aiming for arrival in Rotterdam by Saturday noon at the latest, that way you can join in for the whole day.

As the program will be the same as last year, the prediction is really easy.
• Go karts is best driven in two heats. The first heat is more to discover the track and get used to it all again, the second one is for faster times and more intense driving. Go-karts are about €13,50 per heat, so for two heats with a few drinks you're looking at about €35,- each. We're thinking of going here (click) (http://www.attractiecentrum.nl/karten_1.html) this time.
• After this we briefly go to my office. Ideal for those who were late to set up sleeping gear and have a little drink before going out for a meal.
• Dinner at the stake house (click) (http://www.beren.nl/content.php?resolution=2&cat=l9). Despite what everybody thought, we were told our return this year was most welcome, and we would have a much better place in the restaurant. My guess is these people are used to a lot worse, and -even though we weren't exactly silent- we did behave enough in the end.
Last year the average bill per person was somewhere €25,- each.
• Booze-up at the office. Like last year, we get back and open the draught machines and bottles. Hopefully we will have some new DVDs by then for those interested, alternatively you can stick to music 'n booze and chat to friends ;D
It is quite common for a few people to get hungry again after a few hours, so this year we'll make sure again we'll have some food to fry for the night.
• In the morning we'll have some type of breakfast, probably some buns with something on it. And strong coffee or a coke for the thirsty people ;)

For the booze and brekkie in the office we would like to ask €12,50, which should bring the total expenses for 24 hrs of CA/DfH on €75,- each, which works out £50.00.
Please note we would like to request people not to take too many 'Special Beers', as a lot was left behind last year - unopened. Seems a shame, really. If you do plan to take beer, please contact either Knetter, Dirk3D, LangTall or myself. This way we can keep track of it, and not get too much for only one night.

Please let us know if you would like to come (again), with how many people, when you'd plan to arrive, means of transport and required sleeping gear.

Even though my office is pretty large, I do believe we should stick with a maximum of about 40 people sleeping there, maybe 45 at the very most. Last year about 20 DfH'ers stayed overnight, so I guess there should be space for a maximum of 25 CA'ers.

That's it. See you at Spa, Silverstone or Rotterdam ;D

List of contenders are:
Rick Cutler
Werner
Nopanic
PigPen + better half
JDS_UK + better half
the Brethren x4
Nobby Diesel
Bob U
Termietermite
Steve Brown
hgb
Vicky & Rowena & Vicky's sister
Fran
Team Zarse x3
JPChenet
Doris
Robspot
Wishy
So far 27 persons definite from abroad.

"Maybe"-list:
Smokie
KeithK and Piglet
1 x Team Zarse
That's another potential 4 persons.

Cancelled:
Andy

This will bring the total number to 27 or 31 (including the maybies). The DfH list is currently 25 strong, which brings the total up to 56 if all do come over.

I'm afraid we're gonna have to put a halt to people wanting to come over, sorry! :-\
Tell me if you'd be interested anyway - there's always a chance people drop out, or we might find other ways to accomodate. Will keep you posted on this. .

<edit by Paddy: Both the Go-Kart centre as well as the restaurant have said they can accomodate up to 50 people easily, we will have to work on local transport though>

<modified to link to CA Calendar - Steve Brown>

Could not make it last year, as it was my birthday over that weekend. But the pics looked good. So this year I have been given a pass out.

So can you book me down for a place and one T shirt – XL.

Will be aiming to drive over, via ferry – Hull/Newcastle area. Any advice would be helpful

Cheers.

I'd go for P&O Ferries, overnight from Hull to Rotterdam Europoort. Decent ferry (althought old), nice bar, proper sleep before you arrive.

Just had a look at P&O, and funnily enough the price of a foot passanger is equal to one person with one vehicle ???
Expensive though, somewhere £200.00 :-\

Will the DfH T shirts be exclusive to those attending (won't be allowed out I'm afraid- Mrs Sconefinger still giving me grief about Le Mans and Silverstone!) Would love to add a DfH T-shirt to the collection, especialy in time for Silverstone.

The white shirts are still available. I think the venue shirts (if they do go ahead), wil only be available from halfway November. More to do with cashflow and invoice dates :-\

Stena are still doing the Rail / Sail fare for £58 return from London to any Dutch station.
However, unlike last year, the fast Catamaran has been replaced by a couple of normal ferries - 6 hours crossing time http://www.dutchflyer.co.uk/home.asp (http://www.dutchflyer.co.uk/home.asp)

Alternatively Transavia fly Stansted / Rotterdam from about £60 (currently) return inclusive http://www.transavia.com/en (http://www.transavia.com/en)

I'll sticky this topic also.

By the way, what was the CA-list from last year? As far as I can remember it was Robspot, BobU, Andy, Steve Brown, Doris, Steve Zarse, Chris Zarse, Andy Zarse, JPChenet, HGB and Werner. Do I forget anybody? :-\

Been with Stena Line recently (clay shooting in Yorkshire), and I wouldn't recomend them. Even though this price is good, the day crossing is f*cking boring and at night you are obligated to take a berth (which will make it more expensive) >:(

It looks like this is going to be one large party! ;D

Wht I'm trying to do now, is to see what the possibilities are as for such a large group.
I've contacted the go-kart centre, they can easily have a group like us. There's a maximum of 12 carts in a heat. In theory we can have two heats per group, so 8 heats all together (with 48 people).
Restaurant is closed now, I will try later in the afternoon. Update to follow.

The only problem we might have is how to drive everybody around :-\

Transportation shouldn't be a problem. We could either rent a couple of vans, driven by the sober ones or just get some taxis. We're not talking major distances here and with everybody chipping in, it's very affordable.

Spend money on travel or spend it on booze? - umm big decision.

Have been up and down to the UK by all means of transport possible. I think the most comfortable way to travel by car is via the Chunnel. Just looked at their site, and they are doing a £59.00 for a return in November. Speedferries will probably have an even better deal. Defenitely the cheaper and most comfy way to travel if you can share seats.

Easyjet Gatwick to Amsterdam out Saturday 10.10am - returning either sun evening or mon morning (if a night stop R&R in the Dam is required  :o) is curently £49.98.

BA is £66.40 but don't forget you get a leather seat, a hot coffeee and a cold breakfast, and a little bag of pretzels and as much free booze as you can drink. Oh and the outside chance of being treated like a passenger rather than another easyjet "veal". Which might, just, be worth the extra £8 each way.

If everyone flew, I think BA would need one of these, with the big tanker filled with beer.

I did Jerry, that's why I swore I'd use BA next time. The Easyjet bacon and tomato roll had been microwaved until it was the temperature of the sun. Apart from spoiling the food, I was pissed off when a smoking hot tomato skin fell out and scalded my chin.  :( >:(

Hi all

Probably too late to get on the list but the cost would be pretty prohibitive, Boat to St Malo £175, petrol and overnighter with food £175, makes it a bit out of the way especially when I am not too fond of lager!....

Hope you all have a good time, might have been an idea to link it to Spa, hopefully see a few of you guys there...

I, will unusually be on the popular peoples campsite (not as LM where I am happy to be on HA)

Go on then, put me down. Still plenty of time to get permission from the wife

Probably going to overnight in Amsterdam on the friday with Team Zarse and arrive in time for the karting and fun on saturday.

For those interested flights from Bournemouth and Soton are quite cheap at the moment.

Bournemouth - Amsterdam with Thomson Fly
Out Fri 07.30 back Sun 16.30 is £86

Southampton - Amsterdam with Flybe
Out Fri 07.25 or 14.10 back Sun 17.25 is £70

And Martini.......

There's loads of options from Guernsey if you try. Fly to Southampton, Bournemouth or Gatwick and then on to Amsterdam. Total cost about £150 with Flybe or Easyjet.

It is a nice bar. For some strange reason I never go there though. Never seem to get to it, or too busy in the weekends :-\
If we skip dinner in a restaurant this time, I might make it with a few after finishing off at the office. Taking a taxi back there will be easy too.

We stayed in the Prinz Heidrich last year, perfectly adequate rooms and just over the road from the Central station which is handy for catching the train next morning. Not sure what we're doing this time, the Gimp was looking into some more "specialist" boutique hotels  :o

Dirk3D has arranged a little special something for our return to the office after the restaurant:

Vinnies Vice will give a gig on Saturday night the 24th of November at my office!!
(for those who don't know, this is the band that performed on our Friday party at Le Mans this year)

It's getting better every day ;D

Unfortunately, Andy cannot make it. :( Something to do with a very busy scedule around that time. He did let me pass on these few messages though:

I will miss Sab's face on the saturdaya after drinking for England.
I will very much miss you all, have a few for me. Message for Roy, Defrost the chicken first before attempting BBQ, OR see if he can hire a prpane gun and go one better this year.

Bob, Rick, Look after Doris. It will be like driving Miss Daisy opps Doris!!!

Kind wishes
Andy

We were working on something that should have been some sort of a surprise, but bad luck seems on our side as for this small plan:
Quote
2007/08 A1GP World Cup of Motorsport Schedule

1) A1GP Zandvoort, The Netherlands 30 September 2007
2) A1GP Brno, Czech Republic 14 October 2007
3) A1GP Asia – venue to be confirmed 4 November 2007
4) A1GP Sepang, Malaysia 25 November 2007
5) A1GP Zhuhai, China 16 December 2007
6) A1GP Taupo, New Zealand 20 January 2008
7) A1GP Sydney, Australia 3 February 2008
8 ) A1GP Durban, South Africa 24 February 2008
9) A1GP Mexico City, Mexico 16 March 2008
10) A1GP Shanghai, China 6 April 2008
11) A1GP Brands Hatch, Great Britain 4 May 2008

Too bad for the 24th of November. I have had some contact with Jeroen Bleekemolen, and he was willing to learn us all some karting tricks at the go-kart centre on that Saturday as well as race some of us. Better luck next time, me thinks :-\

We have 2 options for a track, but don't want to go to the same track as last year. There are several nicer tracks near Rotterdam.

Originally we have planned this one: http://www.attractiecentrum.nl/karten_1.html
But if one of the Bleekemolen guys is willing to help us, they might ask us to go to Delft (as they own that go-kart centre), like Pieter says.

No, not the O'Shea's. To be honest I don't know the name of the pub (I don't go out often enough)

Name of the street is Rode Zand, which runs paralell with the Coolsingel, the main street of Rotterdam. Coolsingel has tube stations, the station you want is "Beurs" (Dutch for Trade).

On this map the red dot is the pub, and the arrow is where the picture above is taken from. That small little M at the bottom left is the tube station (metro).

Dear all,

Got an email this morning about the go-kart event. Michael Bleekemolen will be our instructor for the afternoon. Michael is the father of Jeroen Bleekemolen, you all know Jeroen as the Spyker and Racing for Holland driver over the last few years at Le Mans and LMS.
Michael himself is an ex-Formula 1 driver (drove a few races in the late Seventies), so he will know enough to learn us some thing about go-karts we don't know yet. Nowadays he is still active on the race tracks racing driving Porsche Super Cup and Renault Clio Cup. More about Michael can be found here (click) (http://www.forix.com/8w/bleekemolen.html).

Hope this will be to your satisfaction ;)

It is an indoor track with tight cornering, so they do not need to be very high power, but according to their website they are.

Track itself is built in some large, square buidling and goes from floor to floor.
It doesn't look too bad on the photo, I have never been on the track there.

Right. Time for a few questions and remarks from my side.

Arrivals:
I have been ploughing through this topic and had a look at who's coming in when and where. As far as I can see I could make the following list, please correct if I got it wrong:
• FRI - Amsterdam arrival: Pig Pen & Lady PP. Team Brethren. Vicky, Rowena & Hayley.
• FRI - Rotterdam arrival: Rick Cutler, BobU, Doris, Steve Brown, Fran, Robspot, Nopanic & Wishy.
• FRI - Rotterdam by car: Termietermite (afternoon)
• SAT - Rotterdam by car: hgb, Werner (morning)
• Unknown: JDS & partner, Nobby Diesel, Team Zarse and JPChenet. Please let me know what your means of transport and ETA is.
* For the people who arrive and stay the night in Amsterdam: be at our office at 12.00 at the latest (so that's a 11.30 arrival at Rotterdam Central Station, we will probably be able to arrange for someone to come and pick you up). Or alternatively try to arrive at Delft train station for 13.30 at the latest, you can grab a taxi for about €15.00, it's about a 10 minute drive from the station to the go-kart centre.

Friday night:
As discussed before, meet up in the Irish bar in Rotterdam, probably from ten-ish. Go back to my place with taxis after last rounds. This should get people in the right place at a reasonable time.

Go-karting:
We have been arranging the go-kart centre and the restaurant this week, and -due to the size of the group- we will have to be slightly more strict with time this time. It is important that everybody aims to arrive by 12.00 at the latest on Saturday (except for those who stay in Amsterdam). That way we can leave on time for the go-kart centre, and the rest of the day will be easy peezy as for time.
If you don't want to come along to the go-karts (like Team Zarse did last year), please let me know. I have booked for the whole group, and so hope everybody will join in. Transportation to and from the go-kart centre will be arranged by DfH'ers, we will gather as many cars as possible and should be okay with that. done by coach. The coach we have hired for the evening will also be available for the afternoon, and this is the easiest way out. Seats 54, which will be enough, especially during the day (Beerman and Buurman will only arrive after the go-karts).

Restaurant:
• Transport to and from the restaurant was a bit of a struggle, so we have arranged a full size coach for them two trips. It seats 50 people, so nearly everybody can jump on board and not care about drinking and driving. Unfortunately this will bring some extra costs, but we are trying to keep the money as low as €3,50 on top of the €12,50 we already asked for beer 'n breakfast.
• As for the restaurant itself, unfortunately our group is too large to eat à la carte like we did last year. Spoke to a bloke yesterday, and I will receive an email soon with the choices. They will probably be the obvious choices like a rack of ribs, sirloin steak or entrecote (or something simular), so probably most will get away with it. Bugger is I have to pass the order list a few days before the weekend, which will be hard to do. I will post the choices as soon as I have them.

Breakfast the next morning:
Ideally I would like to charter someone who'd be coming from the UK by car, to be able to bring English bacon and sausages in a coolbox. Alternatively we can ask the Friday-Rotterdam bunch to bring this by plane, but that will be more hassle and uncooled. So anybody turning this trip into a booze cruise, please step forward ;D

So instead of the €12,50 for beer and brekkies we'll ask for €16,- for beer, brekkies and transportation.

I hope all this is -a sort of- clear to you :)

[edit] have arranged coach later so adjusted this reply.

I'm flying into HamsterJam on friday, not sure of the time yet. Original plan was to spend friday night there with Team Zarse but they don't know what they're doing yet.

Might still stay in Amsterdam if other people are there but also may head over to Rotterdam for the all day sesh followed by Irish Pub. Is accommodation readily available for friday night in Rotterdam?

Also, am definitely coming for the karting. Track looks awesome.

Absolutely. My guess is there will be sleeping up to 20 people at my place on the Friday night. On Saturday night there should be around 45 people staying.
A little crowded ;D

Sorry for repeating my post on the previous page, just don't want anybody to miss it ;)

Arrivals:
I have been ploughing through this topic and had a look at who's coming in when and where. As far as I can see I could make the following list, please correct if I got it wrong:
• Friday - Amsterdam arrival: Pig Pen & Lady PP, Team Brethren, Robspot, Vicky, Rowena & Hayley.
• Friday - Rotterdam arrival: Rick Cutler, BobU, Doris, Steve Brown, Fran, Nopanic & Wishy.
• Friday - Rotterdam by car: Termietermite (afternoon)
• Saturday - Rotterdam by car: hgb, Werner (morning)
• Unknown: JDS & partner, Nobby Diesel, Team Zarse and JPChenet. Please let me know what your means of transport and ETA is.

* For the people who arrive and stay the night in Amsterdam on the Friday night: be at our office at 12.00 at the latest (so that's a 11.30 arrival at Rotterdam Central Station, we will probably be able to arrange for someone to come and pick you up). Or alternatively try to arrive at Delft train station for 13.30 at the latest, you can grab a taxi for about €15.00, it's about a 10 minute drive from the station to the go-kart centre. Ask the driver to go to Bleekemolen's Race Planet (address is Kleveringweg 18 in Delft - but you probably don't need that)

BTW. 16 Euro is far too cheap for the hospitality that DfH are providing

Nah, that way you'd get too many stickies on the main page, I think there are too many already :-\

Besides, this should have been the final change. We have hired a full size coach (seats 54 people) to take us from the office to the kart track, from the kart track via the office (in case anybody want to put his/her matrass down) to the restaurant, and after dinner we'll be picked up again and brought back to get some ear pounding by Vinnies Vice.

I think it's properly arranged like this - nobody has to count glasses of alcohol all day long, as the only steering wheel they'll be holding will be the one from the go-kart :)

However I fly in from Egypt in the early hours of the Saturday, so I don't think this is do-able.

More importantly, Aberdeen finishes in two weeks for me - what a result, at last..back to normal browsing habits hopefully!!  :)

If I drive, what is the best ferry crossing (I'm located in the South East of England) Dover, Folkstone & tunnel are all convenient. How long is the drive, once across the water?

We will probably use Speedferries to cross (el cheapo!), Dover to Boulogne. According to Multimap it's about 3.5 hours from Boulogne to Rotterdam without comfort stops.

Take a good 4 hours with the comfort stops included.

I think the crossing preference is a personal thing. I have been traveling frequently since 1993 and have done just about all possible departures between Calais and Hook of Holland. There has been a time (still in the tax free era) when I was driving an artic 3 times a week from Holland to Liverpool and back, so was on the ferry six times a week for months on end. What a revelation it was when I went by Channel Tunnel in July '94. I hated the one-day-tourists on the ferries the most, always jumping queues and loading up liquor like it's going out of style.
Since then I try to avoid ferries. Rather pay that little extra and have the comfort of my own car seat and the quietness of the train. It's also a lot faster - done Rotterdam to Bournemouth in 7 hours flat once, you can forget all about that when going by ferry.

As for Rotterdam - Calais, my record is 2hr 25mins, but that was at full throttle nearly all the way (86mph av.) on a brand new 1200cc motorbike - not recomendable! As said above, count on somewhere 3½ - 4 hours including stops and the Ring road of Antwerp on a Friday :-\

I've got a brilliant idea. Why not wait for ages to book your flight so the price goes up from £90 to £246.

COCK!!!!!!!!!!!

I am now seeking alternative travel arrangements and the most likely option is driving via the Tunnel for the princely sum of £124. Much more flexible, don't have to get up at 5am and I don't pay for petrol.

The delay in flight booking was due to an administrative problem in obtaining the correct pass for the weekend. In fact the pass was completely revoked after the Rugby quarter final when I came home 7 hours late but I knew she'd cave.....  :-\

7 hours late

Only seven hours late ? You amateur !!!

I learnt very quickly after my first marital outing the art of getting a pass is not even bothering to ask, just fecking go. If you ask, the answer is invariably "NO" so I don't bother anymore, I just tell her I'm going and that I'll be back sometime.

Wishy and me are flying with VLM, good rate and looking forward to flying in and out of city airport - very steep approach into airport.

Try flying with VLM, flights from city airport to rotterdam, still showing £30 each way - plus tax's and other bit - total - £123.00 - still cheaper than £246.

Worth a look.

VLM has a habit to charge extra costs if you are not careful/ read the small texts

my experience is that transavia is the cheapest to fly with if you book early enough (1 week in advance)

It's just a question of logistics for Neil and I........... as we are staying in a hotel 5mins walk from the bar.

We will be arriving at about lunchtime if all goes well.

My plan is to clear the office on the Friday between noon and six-ish. Between seven and nine fetch something to eat somewhere - maybe just some chips n stuff, some people are due to arrive late. Leave the office half past nine at the latest to be at the pub somewhere 10-ish.

The only slight worry I have is if that English guy called Corbyn is right. Some people might get stuck in Holland if we do get 120 mph storms :-\

If anyone is up for it... lets get a crew together and show em how its done. I have lots of mates out there who can help out so it wont be a big deal getting sorted for tickets etc.

Can I call on one please, as it will make my travel bag lighter, adn I forgot about a pillow!

Thanks

So, after finishing work late, managing a couple of beers on the way home, my thoughts turns to Rotterdam.

Was it not for the need to earn a crust, I would have been with you boys and girls this weekend.

I trust everyone arrived safely and as planned. I'm sure you are having a great night!

Best wishes to you all.

Please hoist a glass or 2 for me.

Update from Rotterdam. For Club Arnage, now call it CAarnage. Don't ask about the drunken mayhem in the bar. It's best not to mention the waterfall running down Paddy's stairs. And who knows who the streaker was that Fran had to cover up. God I feel awful

Everybody thanks a lot for coming over to Holland to make this another legendary weekend. Really appreciated your presense, you're a great bunch of people! 8)

Weekend in brief:
*Friday early arrivals got very drunk in the Irish pub. Dunno what they put in the beer, but I had the worst hangover since Sebring.
*Saturday morning gathering went well. Untill the coach was supposed to arrive that was. Something went wrong in the planning office, and we had to wait for nearly two hours for the coach to arrive. Sadly this meant we missed out on Michael Bleekemolen, who had another appointment.
*Go karts meant lots of bruises for many people, Fran did a low flyer with one of the karts and Rowena got done for drinking and driving. I surprised myself with the laptimes, was fourth overall in the end.
*The restaurant was great. Food was served very fast, and the service was pretty good. JPC got another mascotte for next year's tour of circuits.
*Back at the workshop Vinnies Vice made the building shake. This was an excellent gig, especially the drummer seemed to have a real good time. I was one of the last ones to go to bed, after six this morning apparently.
*This morning all got up eventually and gradually made our way home.

Thanks to everybody for helping where you could, it made life easier for all of us. Special thanks to JPC for the groceries, 'her indoors' really apreciated your efforts!

Home again safely!!

Big thanks to everyone involved in making it such a fab weekend both the organisers and the company - I managed to pace my drinking very nicely and avoided both embarrassment and hangovers which is a bit of a result :).

Karting was excellent even tho I was last in each of my heats (mind you... I did show a 10 sec per lap improvement on the second heat when I didnt lose time running over Rick Cutler's hand!).

I have a fair few good pics, but no idea how to post em yet.

Unfortunately, I also have a mental picture burned into my retinas that may require extended therapy to cure - traumatic doesnt even start to describe it.....

Hope everyone else gets home safely too.

F

5 days at Le Mans doesn't leave me with as much grease as I've just had to wash off me! Must be something to do with the karting (fascist hill installing bastards!!!!!!!) and the glue all over Paddy's floor.

An absolutely superb weekend once again. Many many thanks to all the Dutch guys, you really know how to throw a party.

Had the coach arrived on time I think the karting could have been a different affair. Mine and JPC's lap times were definitely affected by rum consumption. Although then I probably wouldn't have seen my first disqualification for DUI.

And that brings us onto Rowena  :o

Just waiting patiently for Rowena DOES Rotterdam to appear on www.ClubCarnage.com, the newly devised "after hours" adult site  ;D

All you guys who missed out should book it in early for next year although I believe there'll be a long waiting list........

Just got in the door.

A huge thanks to Paddy, Marius and all the guys for putting on a fabulous weekend, it was a total blast. Vinnie's Vice were the nuts and that was the longest vesion of Mustang Sally I have ever heard, well done JPC. All the guys had a fabulous time. A top road trip.

I'm absolutely shattered, aching all over, bruising from the go-karts and jaw ache, I haven't laughed so much in ages. I'm suprised my head is OK considering the amount of alcohol consumed until 3 on the Friday and 5 on Saturday. Hard core stuff. Top marks to Rowenna for being the most pissed person of the weekend.

I know Pig Pen and Elvis have a ton of photos and video clips so hopefully we'll get some of the more embarrassing ones posted very soon.

We finished it all off with a fine meal in Brugge and a bit of brownie point shopping.

Rusty

That comment dosn't even begin to describe how good they were. I have paid a lot of money in the past to see bands that are not worthy of tuning Vinnies's Vices's instuments. These guys should be making millions. F***ing brilliant.

Cheers DFH. What a weekend!!
Thanks for everything you guys and gals did for us over the last few days.
Claire and I had a superb time, as did the rest of the Brethren.
I still hurt from Karting but apart from that.... no drink related injuries to speak of, which us unusual as consumption was very heavy!
Loved Rotterdam (Lady PP shopped, The Brethren Boozed), the Karting, the restaurant and the party. Awesome time had by all.

Will come again next year if invited!

Special thanks go to 'Weena for the endless cabaret of drunkeness. That girl knows how to party.... as the pics will show!
I will upload later... been a long day after a long weekend and its dinner time.

Oh... and 'Weena... I wont disclose any of your secrets that you told me on Saturday ;) ;D :police:

Thanks again to all in DFH. Top Weekend with great friends. ;D

Well thanks to my son, who has downloaded the following on his youtube account, so Mark blame him.

Clip from a small camera, so best of what was available.

This was filmed at the weekend, not sure what time, but quite late, but the party is still in full drunkard mode.

And Vinnies Vice were great, what a great band, did the dutch proud!

A big THANKS to all for the great weekend that already seems too much like a distant memory.

A few special thanks though......
To all of you who decided to go to the Irish Bar on Friday night leaving Max and I to polish off the Bundy between us.  It was tough but we managed.   ::) ::) ::)
To Rowena who has deflected attention away from my escapades last year.
To Vinnie's Vice who have ensured that my eardrums will never be the same again.   ;D
To Chris for helping me drink the Cidre Brut thus ensuring I wasn't suffering too much when I woke up yesterday morning.   ;)

and last but by no means least to Paddy for providing me with some great cheques to present to this years chosen charities.   :-* :-* :-*
(Enjoy the rum.  You deserve it!)

All I can say is roll on next year.....it is a deffo to add to the LM calendar of event.

Being a lightweight on the beer front on Saturday night was great as I was able to watch those of .....you and you know who you are....... behaving in some very strange and funny ways.

As for karting, it will probably get worse for me as I entered some stupid competition a few months ago, thinking I'd probably never hear from it again. Got a phone call yesterday to say I'm invited to go to Coronel's track next Sunday. Hope the current bruises will be less by then... :-\

Fantastic, even though I missed a lot of the best bits... I crashed out at about 3:30 in the car - surprisingly warm and comfortable - and woke up at 7:30 then made my way to the hotel in time for breakfast. Sorry if you heard the car alarm at 7:30, seems there is an internal movement sensor, and that was when I had my first internal movement!!

With no plans for a November holiday next year, I'll be putting this event in my diary as soon as the 2008 dates are announced...

Thanks Paddy etc!!

Finally had some time to throw a few pics of me online.

After a two hour wait the coach finally arrived. This is our departure, hence the 2005-truck in the background 8)

Finally at the bar of the go-kart track.

After karting we went for dinner. In the UK there are pints. Here in Holland we drink them slightly larger. Here's Swans having his first beer of the day.

Martijn was thirsty too!

Swans finished his drink in the mean time...

...while Martijn sneakily took a small one too!

Yep, this is the stuff! ;D
(http://www.drinkingforholland.com/Paddy/Meeting7.jpg)

Wishy looked like he drank something completely different.

Rowena drank the same, but she was full of denial.

The gang in front of the restaurant.

And finally the band. Man, were they loud! (but very cool though)

Roll on 2008! It's definitely worth the effort! ;)

These are about the only semi useable pics we got - beer and someone else's camera don't really go together ... Not too sure the karting center believed that some us had 'only had one or two' and were primed and at the peek of the game ...

Thanks for the many and kind warm words! ;)

As for karting, it will probably get worse for me as I entered some stupid competition a few months ago, thinking I'd probably never hear from it again. Got a phone call yesterday to say I'm invit my firs heat ed to go to Coronel's track next Sunday. Hope the current bruises will be less by then... :-\
My neck still hurts.... all associated with the massive shunt I had half way round my first heat after being well oiled and drifting like a teenger. The kart snapped strait and I buried it into the armco so hard it remained there for the whole meeting. Stuck by the front end plastic. Ha Ha!

Lady PP was far quicker than me but then she is 4 stone lighter and had not been on the pssi all day.

Raceplanet rocks!
