Nickliv,

Same ferry as you, travelling down on the 10th from Chester via Cambridge to pick up the rest of the gear and also 1 other motor. Teaming up with the 3rd car in our group at the Travel Inn at Dover Docks Tuesday night.

Any other CA's on the early Wednesday Speedferry?

in 9 weeks in a couple of hours i will be chugging out of wokingham in the Humber heading for dover through bracknell around the bottom of the M25 for the friday night traffic for my 21:30 speedferries on the 13th.

No convoy for me, just the 2 of us in the old girl spearing through the night for day break on bleu on the morning of the race. I shall then nod off whilst watching hotel porn on sunday 15th in the small hours in the Hotel Alba in Roeun after a night of debauchery in the town.

And then i am on the 23.30 or something boat back to blighty on the monday night after cruising the beaches and cheap booze emporiums of northern france finished with a lovely supper in Bologne.

Not long now  8)

Getting worried, if the frigging weather doesn't get better, the Sixfire may not make it this year.

It may have to be the 740.

Jem, and why did you not post back in January when we had the first NW meet. Chester races have gone a bit Chavy for my taste, but it is only a 10 min walk home from the course ;D, Which date then? Also trying out Bangor on dee races this year. Any one elsoe for another NW meet? Pre LM?

Back on track, which route are you on?

Are you proceeding directly to Dover from turnipland, or are you partaking in the barely adequate rest facilities provided courtesy of one of Dovers less than salubrious hotels?

We'll be overnighting at Dick's place - between Sandwich and Dover.  Then up at sparrow fart and 10 minutes to Dover.

I thought most of Dover's hotels now housed 'asylum seekers'.  ::)

Yes but Kev, you're a young man, your joints are supple, your eyes are bright, and you can probably hold an erection all day (whereas our arms get tired). Us more mature campaigners, need a rest, the feel of a good counterpane at night and a miniscule morning glass of powdered orange juice followed by three tinned grapefruit segments before we take on a channel crossing.

We all meet up in Dover and enjoy a few pints at the Premier Inn's bar and some food before enjoying a last sleep in a proper bed ;D

Nicliv - which establishment will you be sleeping in?

We're in the aspirationally titled Dover Premier Travel inn, hoping for a sea view room, rather than an armenian shouting at his broken lorry on the A2 room. In '06 we wandered into Dover itself, drawn by the elusive scent of a curry we never did find, followed by a dissapointing wetherspoons experience.

I think we may look harder for a curry this time.

Pig Pen Racing plans are a little worrying....
Saturday 7th June... Brethren drop off kit for the van meeting at Russ's pad in Kent, huge lash up followed by massive Chinese.
Wake up Sunday 8th, feel awful, drive 130 miles back to home and collect whatever transport is heading down to LM, Pack it, try and remember all important stuff and then drive to Portsmouth that evening for the overnighter.

The luxury of a Premier Travel Inn......

Sure I read that there are some other CA crew on the same ferry?
