Title: 2010 bookings
Post by: Radar on April 27, 2009, 05:31:14 pm
As usual, I sent the ACO my order for camping tickets more than a year in advance. I was particularly keen to get the 2010 order in very early because I'm fed up being fobbed off with tickets for BSJ and then told "other people got their orders in before you", as happened this year (again).

This time, the ACO has written back saying they can't currently accept my order and to try again in the Autumn. When I queried this (pointing out that an order placed in Autumn usually comes back with an eff off we're sold out message) they said the booking system was being changed for next year. Anyone else know anything about this?

Werner asked this question and was told that 2010 bookings are being accepted from 8th June.

Interesting definition of Autumn then...maybe a French microclimate?

Although to be honest it makes little difference when you actually book.  I've booked on the first day that bookings are taken and still been allocated BSJ!

E-mailed my request to them last night.

Whether they do anything with it, I don't know.

Well if I told you that then everyone would know.......

Just use this years and amend it to say 2010. Pass it on.

We attempted to do this this morning and were told by the boss lady in the Rotunda: "Management have told us not to take any 2010 bookings as the system is going to change."  She had no info as to how it will change, or when bookings will be taken.  Make of that what you will.

Maybe people will get what they ask for!  assuming they book soon enough.

2010 already ordered from those nice people at Just Tickets.  When something is as important as your camping tickets you've gotta take the risk out of it. I know you pay more, but you dont end up at some godforsaken campsite miles from anywhere.

That said waiting to see what the ACO sends must be a bit like xmas !!!

The latest version is that there will be no bookings taken by post/fax/in person etc.  Booking will begin in September (date unspecified) by internet only.  We shall see.  But I guess at least we'll know what we've got from minute one.

in that case only I think only BSJ will be available! They will probably have sold the rest to the agencies by then.

BSJ is a no-go for me.

It's either BN or Expo.

I organised through Team Languistine this year for the CA-BN Party Centre and I'm not going.

Is it worth booking with TL for next year as this year there will be 100+ CA'ers there?

Andy at TL has already said he will give us first option on a mass booking for next year  :)
