Hi everyone.  Long time no see.  I've been busy not going to Le Mans for the last 5 years. 

Anyway - here are some photos from the GT's first test session.  Local for me, and I wish I could have seen it, but didn't.  Looks like the same car from the racing version's unveiling.

But I thought foreign drivers were what the Idiotgrandson^TM had to save us from.  What with that, the street races, engine leases and disconnect from the dirt-tracking USAC heritage, you'd think what exists now was the exact thing he railed against in 1994-95.    The whole sham should be plowed under.

TV ratings were around 1/3 of the last real 500 in 1995 and their TV contract is a joke.  Demand for seats is nil.  The family under the Idiotgrandson's guidance blew through $600M in the last 17 years.  The races where they make people pay for indycar tickets in order to purchase nascar tickets are empty, meaning that those people don't bother to show up for something they already paid for, and can't even give them away.  The whole operation is now apparently hemorrhaging money so badly that they're fining people $10,000 for crossing the white line at pit out.

OW racing in the U.S. is effectively dead and there's one person to blame.

I've done a bit of a search here, but does anyone have any info on getting to Le Mans from the airport in Paris? I believe there is a station at the airport, is it direct or is there a connection? Also. what kind of restrictions does the train have on luggage size and quantity?

I did it in 2010 and it's easy as pie.  The TGV station in Le Mans is about 75 feet away from the tram station which will take you right to the track.  Not where you want to BE at the track, but at the track none the less.  Have someone pick you up there and they won't have to drive into town.  Tram ride to Antares(?) was about 15m, IIRC.  I did it with a 70L backpack if that gives you an idea of luggage size.  No issues.

Be careful with the return trip.  I missed the TGV to CDG and had to take the one to Montparnasse, then a bus to CDG.  Pain in the arse and cost me $100.  Add to that rain and a brain crushing hangover and it made for one of the worst days of my life.

I love the way that they quote him with the American spelling of Litre. It always annoys me to see it as "Liter" which to me reads as lighter.

Road America's bratwurst is legendary.

Road America gets my vote.  Each stall is operated by a different local charity/church or service club and each has a different menu.  Roasted sweet corn, schnitzelburgers or breakfast sandwiches at the Lion's Club, grilled pork sandwiches at the Optimist Club, plate lunch or Brats at St. John the Baptist.  All excellent, reasonably priced and all the monies toward a good cause.  They got it right, I think.
