Dear all on Tertre Rouge this year,

our Friday night Tarquin the Tax Man collection this year was in aid of the Royal British Legion 90th Anniversary Poppy Party  appeal, registered charity 219279 www.britishlegion.org.uk

Two people each put in £20 notes, two more €20 notes, nine €10 and fifteen €5 notes. Special mention to these generous souls along with the scroat who put in the FFr 2.5 which I will keep to start the collecting box rattling next year.

It's that time of year when the focus of life turns to the family & Cristmas.....bleurgh bah humbug.

I know I have to suffer it all & even be polite to the outlaws so that I don't get too may comments regarding the annual pilgrimage. What is the most outrageous thing you lot have to do to earn a weekend ( well OK maybe a week long) pass?

If you are looking for a cheap crossing (and that's my second favourite price) try TML ferry Newhaven/Dieppe.

Only cost me £40 for the bike last year compared to £140 for Brittany Portsmouth/Caen.

One word of warning it is cheap & a little nasty. Watch out for the carrots in the baked beans at breakfast. Bizarre, but then that's what Le Mans is all about.
