Great evening - thanks for driving over guys and Fran.  Had an excellent time. It's great to have a proper chat sometimes away from the race when I have other things to occupy my time!

Mike, I had never heard the expression : "So tight he only ever breathes in" but I won't forget it in a hurry!

Yes, I know that there used to be a lot more of this sort of stuff but I usually missed it.  Nothing quite like the sight of 60 odd race-ready sports cars driving through a small Belgian town whilst you sup on your glass of Bordeaux blanc now is there?

Actually... Monaco is a principality. Monte Carlo is the city.

Pedant mode off.

This Chap obviously did not for fill his potential at geography:

Get it together DM. Monaco is a city in the south of France. It has an annual Grand Prix .... through the streets. Le Mans is a race circuit, near Paris, which has an annual 24 hour race. Steve made '24 hours of Le Mans'. Monaco and Le Mans are NOT the same thing.

 ;D
I believe that was Jules's point, n'est-ce pas?  Jeez, you can tell that the average DM journalist/reader concentrated really hard during geography lessons.

There are some classic DM readers views at the bottom of the DM page ;D and a couple of petrolhead comments as well

;D  I couldn't resist either.

Typical Daily Fail.
I promise you, I never read the thing - picked up from another forum.  I would hate anybody to think such an apalling  thing of me. :)

Yes, I know that as motor racing movies go Le Mans was better than most - and that doesn't say much - but ffs it's just a watch!

And is Tor Graves really British (I thought he was Thai?)

Nice entry though - apart from the sad lack of Porkers in GT - and it still looks thin after the 60+ who turned up in Belgium at the weekend.  Once again, P2 looks to be where all the action is.

Sorry about that, it was some race - bar the rather dull outcome and the Spa rain!  My chair has a support for my leg (it doesn't bend much either) which makes it a great deal comfier.

Help / Re: Out of season hotels..
« on: July 31, 2012, 06:36:37 pm »
If the Commerce is full, try the Corail in the same location - great grub to boot.  If totally stuck my local hotel is great but a bit far.

I will never forget my Dad driving me down the Mulsanne when I was 6 (we were on our way to Sion in the Vendee also as it happens).  Keep up the good work - you might have a motor racing companion for years to come, just as he did!
