Cheers for the replies! I rang Origin, and they confirmed that the French police would 'frown' upon the B2  , so it stays at home!!

Help / Legality of using B2 GPS detector in France

Hi all,

Quick question. I know that radar/laser detectors are illegal to even have in the car in France, but what about GPS based systems? The unit I use is an Origin B2.

Are they legal to use if you disconnect and remove the 'active' laser detection part? Just asking, as the GPS speedo is useful to have! A little more accurate than the standard dials.

Hi all,

Just thought I'd introduce myself!! My names Dave, and after going to Le Mans in 2000, I've been desperate to return - and this year is the year!! (as long as I can get some camping tickets for Maison Blanche!!)

Going down to Le Mans this year in my Impreza, in convoy with a mate in his Scoob! So should be a right larf!

Look forward to meeting people at the circuit! Or on the way there!
