It was very cold today(and yesterday) but round 1 of the GT Championship was worth waiting for. The handicapper seems to have got the mix right,- 1 sec between the front 3 430's with a 997 1 sec further back in 4th. Pity the race was cut in time because of the accidents. Those coming on Monday bring warm clothing.

General Discussion / Re: Brittany Ferries, now flying the Jolly Roger.

The cost has gone up by £42 ( up fom £577 to £619) compared with last year for the Tue night out- return mon night  . Thats with 4x4, caravan, and 4 of us and 1 cabin ew.  Now it over £150 a head it is too dear. There must be a cheaper way.  Is LM now  confirmed for the 14 / 15 June?

I did not think that the boats on these servces this year were as full as previous years. I asumed that it was because of the the price hike this year compared with last. If the price increase puts more of us off this route the boats will be even less full. I suspect this now the result of the the demise of the the P& O withdrawal from the route to Le harve giving Brittany a monopoly (except for LD lines but they ony operate once a day at somwhat inconvenient  times for us who travel from up north on the return journey)

The Times today speculates that Ron Dennis  will  "quit as head of Maclaren and take on the Richards F1  project using the chassis and engines from his old team" (what ever that means) . Would not have thought that this would raise the £330 plus  millionsthat Mr Richards needs .

"del's man " (!!!) joining in.  Further thoughts - will the new paddock area restrict access to the stairs to t34? and will the there be a replacement for the  club area next to the track by the pit exit road once the pit extension and village is complete? I sure that one of the earlier plans  published for the new village showed a replacement cub area and indeed a tower
As I said to Del "off air" there seems to be less access for grandstand ticket holders than 2-3 years ago

one other thought -are the pit lounges the hospitality caravans/marqueesat the back of the pits?
