Help / Arriving midnight/1am Friday night - any issues?
« on: June 11, 2003, 02:46:24 pm »
The earliest Ferry we can catch is 5.45pm on Friday from Dover unfortunately.
This means we'll be getting there pretty late. That's not good for a first-timer.
I have a camping ticket (Houx Annexe) but no admission ticket.
1. Will I be able to get into the campsite with no admission ticket?
1a. If I need a ticket will I be able to get one at that time of night?
2. Will I be able to find a space in the campsite?
3. Any other snags?

Thanks guys

Two Paul B's in the same thread! Might get a bit confusing, Bruce.
Anyway - thanks to one of your great suggestions I managed to get a camping ticket for Houx Annexe from ebay. I paid a premium but I figured I can't be choosy. Anyway I believe it's a good site.
Thanks all.

Thanks for all the helpful advice, guys.
Werner, thanks very much for your offer. I am interested - it seems as if that would be the best solution, and the "expanding campsite" as a last resort. I'll email you.

Help / Le camping - le sold out -what now?

First time to Le Mans. Last minute booking. Got the ferry booked, but it looks like all the campsites are booked. (Apart from £389 for the VIP pitch).
What are the alternatives? Is the off-site camping any good, and is it a pain to get in/out of the circuit.
Can you catch a few hours kip in the car park for race night, or (someone mentioned to me) at the back of the grandstand?
2 blokes, on a budget, arriving by car midnight Friday
Thanks,
Paul
