Sad news indeed. I had the pleasure of spending a weekend at Sebring in 2019 with him and his wife when we camped next to each other in Green Park. You will be missed!

Hi all,

I'm currently updating my (german language) website with informations for LM visitors. In the past it has always been possible to order tickets at the Tourist Office Le Mans. Does anyone know from own experience if this is still possible? I didn't find anything on the tourist office website when I last checked it.

Thanks a lot in advance

If someone still needs a ticket: As I write this there are loads of Full Race Week tickets at the ACO Resale website available.

Just out of curiosity: Does anyone know if the LMP2 class at Le Mans will use the same position displays as Hapercar or LMGT3 use in the WEC? Or will they stick to the Leader lights system?

Last year there was no pedestrian access to Houx.
Camping pass holders only.

Hmm, may be this depends on who is on duty. I stayed last year on Houx and used both entrances many times and as a pedestrian I never had to show my camping pass, only my race ticket.

Hi all, the date and location for this is now set, it'll be Friday, 13th June, start 8:00 pm at Camping Houx.

We've chosen Friday since there is no track action and Camping Houx because a whole bunch of CAers are staying there anyway (Neil, Julian, Dirk, Max, myself and some others).

How to find us: Using the car entry of Camping Houx just follow the tarmac road and you will find us after about 200 metres on the right side – look out for a big red tent and probably some CA flags. Coming from the track it'll be on the left side then. Camping Houx is technically inside the track so you will need your entry ticket to access it.

This date will be a very special one for me (OTD 40 years ago in 1985 I set my foot for the first time on this track) so there will be some beers available.

Hope to see a few of you

Seems to be the usual software release 1.0 hick-up! I have downloaded the app but can only see one ticket. 2 GEs and a Parking Arnage are missing.

Update: The Parking Arnage ticket is visible in the app now, 2 GE still missing. Seems to be some step-by-step data migration.

I'll hold off downloading it for a week or so, hopefully all the bugs will have been splatted by then and it may work .....

Next update: All my tickets are visible now in the app. Next adventure: Transferring some of them to another person. Has someone already tried that?

Didn't think I said I was!
A ability to walk more than 20 yards might change my mind, not there yet.

I hope very much you'll make it!

Team LeMansZone will be there with a group of 9 people. This will be my 7th Classic, I'm looking forward to it.

General Discussion / CA Gathering 2025 ?
December 15, 2024, 11:05:57 AM
The oldtimers among us probably remember the Club Arnage meetings in the village or trackside in the late 1990ies, early 2000. At that time we didn't know each other yet in person, only from the CA forum, so these meetings helped to put faces to names. After some years we stopped this because we all knew each other and met anyway, e.g. for many years on the CA compound on the Blue Nord campsite. But since the demise of Bleu Nord this doesn't happen any more, because we are spread around various campsites. This year I missed meeting a lot of people, like Karl and Doris and many others.

So what about a revival of the CA gathering next year? Your thoughts and comments, please!

General Discussion / Re: 2024 Experience

My 38th visit there – but I'm not sure if many more will follow. Camping at Houx was great this year, nice company with DfH, Julian and his group and Tom and Peaky were also close by. However, the crowd was immense. In the past we took off 2 hours before the start to reach our usual viewing spot at Chapelle, but this year you had problems to find space already at noon. Everything was extremely crowded, passing through the various pedestrian tunnel was sometimes a nightmare and the village was so crowded that you could hardly move.

Enough complaints now, the race itself was great! The Hypercar and GT3 regs have made Le Mans amazing to watch with 9 cars still on the same lap at the end of the race. The racing has become much more attractive and this comes at a price – overcrowded spectator areas!

During practice I visited Barry and Rhys who camped at Arnage/Indianapolis, IMHO currently the best viewing spots. I might give this a try next year, camping there directly trackside reminded me a little on the old days at Maison Blanche or Karting Nord, when you could walk with your morning coffee from the tent to the track within minutes. Need to find out how to get Arnage campsite passes...
