Help / Re: Bleu Nord layout
« on: May 21, 2009, 09:37:46 pm »
We had a block of 10 pitches in two rows.  At the gate, they sent us to the wrong end

Then the chap who almost knew what he was doing put us where Wishy & NoPanic were

Then another one turned up with a map, and someone finally agreed with me (I had the map) that we should be in the next two rows.

Then someone else appeared, and tried to move us another couple of rows, but by then we had all developed the phu cough

Then the chap with the map came back and asked us to move down one, as we were on the track parallel to the airport fence, and we'd worked that out by then.

Then somebody else came along and suggested we might like to move, and he was soon persuaded that he ought to move instead.

I wondered what you were doing while we were stuck in the Buffalo grill trying to get mikes cobra started.

Plan A was to stuff all the gear into a Vectra estate and haul the bike down on a trailer. Had to  revert to plan B of riding the bike down all the way as the tow car is now history.

BMW R45 1981  One owner 146000 miles.  Should be in BN Mon p.m.

Talking of two wheels, thats the awning on the front of my caravan, I thought it all looked familar.

And the R45 looks better than when it came out of the factory.  You must get out more - put some more miles on it.

Hi Lorry I hope you'll have lots of booze capacity in your 'van. I think ill be a bit limited for space on the supermaket run.

After all i'm only taking my little ped  >:D

Cool! I always fancied an R65 when i was a schoolboy. Is the R45 as guttless as it's reputation would have you believe?

In a word, yes.  But it will cruise all day at 80 and the staggering lack of power translates to 20,000 miles on each rear tyre

So not all bad then. I guess then it's a bit like a bigger Honda 250N Superdream?  ;)

Yes but much more comfortable and relaxed.         Update added by Skid Lid using White Barons sign on.

General Discussion / Re: Pit Lane
« on: May 18, 2009, 11:09:24 pm »
We cycled down the track from HA to MB last year on the Monday night. No one stopped us and most of the pits were open with mechanics fiddling with things. Worth a try as there were no officials anywhere to be seen.

PP

Every year for the last 10, walk into the circuit monday/tuesday into maison blanche go through the open circuit gate and stroll across ford chicane and down the pitlane. Best pictures of the week as its so empty.

Hi all,

Steve from the Kanterbrau owners club kent here (T-shirts available shortly)

I think what is needed to help me get into the LM spirit is a thread with all the transport and anything else you fancy sharing a picture of, that will be gracing this years Le Mans 24.

If you are particulary pround of anything you are bringing or just want to show off your motor post a pic here. It does have to making this years trip though!

so this is my bike that will be travelling to Le Sarthe for the first time.

obviously i am aware that this thread may get hijacked but lets try and get as many pictures as possible and not deviate too far.

Steve

ps see you in BN i'll be there from monday pm

We've just got our allocation, and we've not got MB again, so Blue Nord here we come.

After last years little problems, does anyone know where we can get telegraph poles from?

For that real Steve McQueen security fence

Better get a bloody big steak to secure my generator this time.

In fact - better get it working  ::)

err.... good luck with that, it wasn't sounding too great the day before it was "borrowed"

We're hoping for good tv coverage  ;D

Has anyone any idea who has the TV coverage this year?  I'm getting lazy/too drunk to walk, so a bit of TV for the practice and the middle of the night would be handy

I will be there, can anyone one help out the team  ( as above)

General Discussion / Re: Driving licence expiry
« on: November 19, 2008, 01:43:04 pm »

The Driving Standards Agency is allowing L-test candidates with out-of-date photo card licences to sit their driving tests as long as they provide a valid passport.

What have these guys been doing for the last 10 years ^^^^^^^^   endless turns in the road ::)?

On a plus side if you can pass another category, the update is free, this recently occurred with my full bike test

i still need to collect:

C1 vehicles 3500kg > 7500kg
C1 + E as above but with trailer
C   HGV
C + E  Bigger HGV
D Buses
D1 minibuses

luckily i do seem to have a tractor license ;D

Careful now. It almost sounds like you're accusing the FIA of cheating in the favour of Ferrari. Obviously you're not as everyone will agree there's absolutely no evidence to support that accusation  ;D

I didn't mention the f- word  :P

this is where Toyota is getting it wrong - too much white in the livery, they should use the old gt1 scheme - nice and red.

World champions within 2 years in that colour otherwise no chance ;D

in the same way if force india don't adapt from the current scheme they will soon see mysterious driving penalties (more so than being punted out at monaco) :)
