Apart from lemans there is the small matter of the football euros at the same time so I imagine the politicos will either quash the revolution, or more likely just buckle rather than deal with the embarrassment of the country grinding to a halt during a major international event.
Hold on a minute, workers not working when the footy is on, have they all got tickets for the match lol ;D

just the fact that apart from the race fans, and this will be my 13th  straight year at lemans there will be hundreds of thousands of pigs bladder kicker fans travelling around the country.......................or not if tgehre is no transport.
I mean they wont want hordes of bored frustrated footy fans just loitering about around the local bars because they cant get to the match, what could possibly go wrong lol

With rumours over the last couple of years about beer bottles being banned, and now this, you'll be telling me they are banning tents next as the guy ropes are a trip hazard!

Although they could ban any loud music recorded post 1975 with no real complaint from me  ;D

Isnt it going to reflect a certain energy drink? I think Mr Webber is still on the pay roll?

Haven't been on in a while but please accept my depest thoughts.
I am sure that our paths may have crossed on Maison Blanche / Blue Nord over the past 8 years I have been at LM.
Only problem is I was probably too drunk to remember!
Like others have said, remember the good times, they are always with you.

I thought there was generally more 'corporate' stuff there this year, especially at the rear of T34 and around the village. You do get the impression that the ACO are trying to edge out the real race fan. Big mistake in my book. I wouldn't like to calculate the additional income the race generates for the region, and indeed along the routes there and back.

MB had space taken this year by the fairground and the support pitts. And there seemed to be less showers and toilets as well.

This is a great event and well worth coming down to if you want a top day out.

I think we all knew that it would be Audi domination this year as soon as Peugeot pulled out. And in truth we have been spoiled by some fantastic races over the past few years, lets be honest as 13 second gap between 1st and 2nd last year was awesome.

You also have to respect the technology and engineering in all the cars, and so what if they can be quickly repaired on the circuit / in the pits. I would rather have more cars running and racing than loads of closed garage shutters. Ultimately racing is both a marketing ploy and an engineering development test bed which will filter through to the cars that we all drive.

It would be great to see more manufacturers enter the event, Mazda are supplying diesel engines to LMP2 next year, is this a toe in the water to a full factory team? Honda are already heavily involved with HPD and may have a full factory team in the near future.

With the whole point about Le mans being endurance, economy and efficiency, and with every manufacturer going 'green' then hopefully they will see the benefit and join the party.

As for the Deltawing, loved it. Didn't think it would work but seeing it lap at a decent pace was great and it was a real shame when they had to retire through no fault of their own. The only real problem with it is there are no direct comparables to benchmark against. Why not have more than 1 'Garage 56' so designers and engineers can let their creativity flourish with no constraints from the regulations and we can compare small engine light weight and great aeros v hydrogen power etc etc.

Finally, Le Mans is not just about the racing, it is about the people, meeting old friends who you may only see once a year at Le mans and making new ones.

Bonnet de douche!

This all seems rather worrying! However, with true British inventiveness and never say die attitude I am sure there is a way around it.

So who ever has started digging the tunnel under the MB wall in Great Escape style, can they please share its location  ;D

Big load up of the transit tomorrow after I have left work early ready for the convoy down on Wednesday.

Tomorrow is going to be a long slow morning with guaranteed last minute work issues. Must remember to stick out of office on early!

Bad luck! All the best with the recovery.

At least you will in the dry, with cold beer and coverage via Eurosport / Audi TV whilst we are in the mud bath on the campsites!
