We were in there on friday night when there was an emotional speech from the landlady saying that this was her last Le Mans working there. If I recall correctly (which to be fair is pretty unlikely given the amount of alcohol consumed during the day) I'm sure she said she would be back next year as a customer. Take that with a pinch of salt though!!!

The speech was then followed by an farewell Karaoke session from some of the customers who really should have known better than to try and sing in public........

Wasn't that on the Saturday after the football?  We had a table reserved for the England game and witnessed some numpty knock her hat off and then slap her when she asked him to leave.  Suffice to say his night didn't end well.

No definitely the friday - there is much I don't recall from the weekend but friday is our traditional "Stella and Frites" night at the bar so at least I recall the day. Sounds like there was a few days of farewells!!

Well we had a great time again and I think our four virgins did too. It was great to meet up with old friends and to make some new ones, can't wait for next year!
Can someone explain something to me... why is there never anything in the English press about Le Mans?

There was an article in the Saturday Daily Telegraph Motoring section (26/06) - admittedly it wasn't a lot but at least it was something!! You would think it would deserve a great deal more attention.

Whilst I agree that there is likely to be little custom during the week it is near the new football ground so I guess it might pull in a few drinkers from time to time.

After far too long lurking I am getting off my backside and joining in!!

I'm John, part of "team Robbo" and have met many of you over the last few years either at Le Mans or the Wokingham meets. Can't wait until next June!!!

I'll make this brief as I couldn't possibly thank everyone for the amazing hospitality shown to myself and the rest of our group.  JPC - the best.  Robbo and gang - ditto.  Thanks for putting up with us.  Cheers to everyone I met for the first time and to those I already know.  A great experience - again.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune, Bob.  Hope everything turns out as well as it can.

Rob, an absolute pleasure mate. Great to meet you guys from the States. All in all a great Le Mans yet again. Maybe catch up at Sebring at some point in the future!!
