I for one plan on setting up a chair with a few beers on my local bridge over the M6 to watch the convoy go past and hanging a scottish flag and a Subaru banner (If my local dealer will lend me one for the day) to salute those taking part.

As one of the organisers of the McRae event, I just had to register to say Sir, you are a gentleman. Yes, we're Googling and amazed at the support we're seeing for our little (or not so little!) tribute event from right across the globe.

I'll be running a stickered-up black 07 WRX up towards the front of the convoy - if I see a guy in a chair with a beer and a Scotland flag I'll be sure to give you a wave
