Anyone else regret the passing of that great stand of shady trees along the inside of the track between the Esses & Tertre Rouge?

I know the new bund in theory gives a better view, but I didn't see many people risking a good flaying to appreciate it.

Couldn't agree more nopanic, full marks for the new loos/showers, glass & concrete is fine for the big corporates, but a bit more space for the "lower end" of the retail market may add a touch more character. That Hermes shop had some bloody expensive dipstick cloths  :o!!

..... I just hope they're not going to Formula-1-erize the place in search of more revenue ..... how long before the €10 beer starts to appear ???

Anyone else get locked in on Monday morng ???

Hi all,

I'm about to finish the campsite chapter. Dan has provided a great start for this and I have added my own experience as well as a lot of snippets from this forum from various campsite-threads.
However, I feel it needs some improvements, there is only little about places like e.g. "Interieur Musee" and "Chapelle" and not much even about "Maison Blanche", I've never stayed there my self.
So, please have a look at it and add information or impressions about the sites where you have stayed at in the last years. The curent draft can be read at http://www.lemanszone.de/caguide2006/18-campsites.pdf

Cheers

Werner

Werner - Mr Toad's most excellent site (http://www.beermountain.com) has a useful section on sites including user reviews, which may be of assistance........

jpc - we also investigated the PA after several hours of "wooo wooo, 'awaiian tropic geerls wooo wooo" from the muppet with the mike.

.... it seems to be a standard 2-screw electrical cable connector, but you'd need an amp of meaty proportions - couldn't quite make out the impedance of the speakers [perched up a fence overhanging the razor wire :-\], so maybe a step ladder (and/or larger wire cutters) may also be in order......

The easiest way into Chapelle - (the best bit is between the Dunlop Bridge and the Esses, under the large trees) is to turn left immediately past  the Karting Nord entrance, but then turn immediately right towards the village, paralleling the main road. Follow this road round thro' the gate, to the left, then right (near the entrance to the pit lane & the hospitality), then right, under the underpass, right again and follow the road past the ACO building and the ferris wheel......simple eh!!!

Only took five attempts this year, (we know the way, but the (bar)stewards on the gates don't seem to......we almost got waved in front of the pit lane once!!) although we did take the usual precaution of dropping off an infantry team at the Bugatti entrance to secure the pitches before the armoured division arrived.

An alternative may be through the main gates by the Rotunda, under the underpass, right at the Shampoo Bar and up thro' the village, although we've never managed this route....(a challenge for next year maybe...... ;)

It wasn't just the fair that was scaled down though - did anyone else think that the village had "shrunk" somewhat over the last year ???

We're on Interior Musee I'm afraid (I think.......I just sit in the front and drink beer - my driver does the logistics - and the cooking - and the navigation - and the booking...... its a tough life!!!), but there must be someone here that could oblige....................

It depends where you're staying......standing room only in many places by then, unless you can get some good samaritans to save you a spot....?
