General Discussion / Re:Whats the top speed?

Ah well - a post that I thought would be interesting with some funny stories has turned into a slaging match - What I didn't ask is was " what is the most dangerous bit of driving anybody has done" or " how many people did you kill last year"!

Doing 30 on a bike in a traffic jam is far more lethal - to the rider at least, than flat out (whatever speed) on an empty, long (twisty occasionally) road with the only other thing around - your 2 mates on a 600 Duke and Blade somewhere behind you. With other traffic - it's very hard to resist when the passenger in a 996 has her tits out waving you on past 150!

Nlash - please don't rant to people they're all stupid! But welcome to CA - I hope you get the jist of why you've logged in!

We are all here because we love speed - why else go to France, watch exotic cars, at 200mph, for 24hrs!

Hope you all have a safe and happy Le Mans - I know I will, I'll speed, get very drunk, abuse some foreigners, watch some amazing action, have a smile on my face for months and stories for my kids for years.

top speed reached on the channel tunnel train carraige when loading, 46mph in Vectra GSi

Another fantastic twist! Last year we hit over 40mph loading the train - we were the first on the train in the high bays in a chipped discovery, fully loaded 4 up - christ we laughed!!! ;D Even the woman loading us at the other end laughed! ;D
Bit scary though as going through the tiolets is tight! :-[

Now I'm not a man to disbelieve somebody just off the cuff, but, I would be interested in how the T.W.A.T.S 300ZX is tunned, for a car that weight we're looking at 500+ horses for 190mph (well tunned Skyline GTR V spec spring to mind!), not imposible just expensive! also the M3, Brabus+Schnitzer top 168 so again not impossible but interesting.

One thing not to forget is that if you stick a set of 20 inchers on a car the speedo needs to be re-calabrated! :-\

I am a firm believer that in France treat plod with respect and you'll be respected - they aren't as anal as our plod about speed, a group of 4 of us on bikes, touching 80 through Arnage were waved on by the police, all smilling!

Ahh, having just read that again - of course - they were probably on drugs!

If you've got all the peper work there is less to nick you for!

;D What is the top speed that anybody has reached on the way two or back from LM - lets all be honest here, indicated speed - no bull. Cars and bikes.

I'll start the ball rolling at 175mph, for 15 miles back to Cearn - ZZR1100 (should do 185 but i'm bit of a bloater!)

Help / Re:Beausejour Campsite - is it any good?
« on: April 21, 2004, 03:47:08 pm »
Our crowd like Beausejour, last year we had a nice large area to ourselves, managed to walk the track - right through the pits on the friday night, and nobody has made a mention of the bus that runs from the village to the site, had to wait nearly 7 minutes one night! And why not make it a brit camp - the ACO seem to want that! PARTY ON!!!!!

Help / Where's 'general reception'?
« on: April 19, 2004, 10:02:23 pm »
Just got our camping tickets on line today and you have to pick them up at the general reception - we'll be arriving friday afternoon!

Any maps etc or directions to the place would be of great help - preferably showing how to avoid the traffic!!!!

Cheers
