31  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Steve McQueen 30 Years on: November 05, 2010, 04:56:51 pm
This Sunday, November 7th, marks the thirtieth anniversary of the death of Steve McQueen.
A true Legend and Icon and one of my all time heroes.

RIP Steve..

Racing is life, anything that happens before or after it is just waiting

I saw one on the peage heading towards Rouen.
Two police on a flyover with what appeared to be binoculars and a handheld gun and two bikes waiting just off the road at the next slip.
As people have said, there is a simple way not to get caught...
Stick the cruise control at the limit and relax.

This is true...
Soft top it is then...

And Perdu, if you find that strength slipping away, there's a spare seat in the Midget Grin Grin Grin

Got one, but as I found out last yaer on the way up to Santa Pod...
.....It's great while you're moving... :-)

Still, driving down the N138 in an open top British sports car (Albeit a rubber bumper model) does have it's attractions...

Hmmmm...
rain,
Now there's an interesting thought...
Do i leave the Ashley hardtop on the Midget, Put the soft top back on, or go all hardcore and leave both off for that full 'Drowned rat in a roadster' look Grin

38  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Is this fate or am I just making up a reason to go on: February 16, 2010, 11:30:52 am
In December I announced at work that, for the first time since 1999 I wouldn't be going to the race because  I didn't have the near £200 that Just Tickets wanted for their overpriced booking.

Since then I haven't been near this site, because I didn't want to get involved in everyone's buildup etc.
So...
This morning I decide to have a quick look, just to see what is going on...
Then I see the entry list.......  And the first part of the defences fall.
Then, about two minutes later I get a great offer through the E-Mail on Dover-Calais crossings...  Second part of the ramparts down
Then I look at the ACO site and see that BSJ tickets are still for sale and cheap...

DAMN, DAMN AND TREBLE DANM......

No excuses and no defensive walls left..

The countdown starts now.... Grin Grin

Ooh the Moose is loose in the hoose! Excellent!

Hope to meet up then Phil. We've moved sites this year and will be just inside Tertre Rouge from about 6am Thursday :O) Conveniently located for the Stella Bar :O)

Rick,
Was it you that I spent some time talking Welling United with at the Poo bar several years ago?
If it wasn't then ignore my ramblings.
If it was, drop by for a beer on TR, just look fo the TTTD flag..

The fun would be in upping the bid by 1p every 9mins 58secs and then the auction would never end....  :-)

44  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Don't you hate it when this happens on: December 10, 2008, 10:19:11 am
Sitting at the 2008 event on the Sunday night with eveyone saying what a great week it was and how they would all be back next year.
People asked me to arrange tickets as usual.
Booked them through JT and paid the deposit.
Then, when I told people what their share of the 'basic cost' would be, four of them said "That's too much, I won't be going".
Cheez, if you think that £150 is too much for a week away you really need to rethink your financial situation.

Managed to cancel most of the tickets, but it still looks like I'll be stuck with an extra Grandstand one...

Sorry for the Friday morning rant...   Smiley
45  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Return Of The Vulcan on: September 08, 2008, 01:21:51 pm
The Vulcan made two passes over Santa Pod this weekend.
They weren't 'displaying' just flying on somewhere.
Mighty impressive she was too.
