Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Showers

All we did, was to purchase one of those Whale submersible pumps from the local camping/caravaning shop and put it down the neck of a black water container. Connect to your car battery via crocodile clips and with the aid of a length of hosepipe and watering can hose, you have a great shower. It throws the water out at 11 litres per minute. We now attach it to an old collapsible stand and hey-presto.

Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: 2009 - Not sure if I will bother

I felt the same as you Big_H a couple of years ago, however I kept on going and started to enjoy it all over again. Unfortunately, I had everything booked for this year but with about 5 days to go I ended up in hospital for a week. All my mates went and I had to stay at home which in itself sent me crazy. I’m already booking for 2009 and after missing just one year, one thing is for sure, I will not be missing another.

Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Le Mans golden Era well and truly over???

Well well well, I'm just so glad it isn't only me. I've been to Le Mans for the last 25 years on the trot, total of 26, and this is the first time I'm thinking of not going next year. The village, although having improved facilities, has lost pretty much all of its character. I could not believe after just past the first hour, with a bit of rain, the safety car came out and stayed for over an hour. Yes it was heavy to begin with but it was short, sharp, showers. After a while it had stopped but the safty cars stayed out. This is Europe! it rains and you race. I agree with the previous comments that it has become very much geared towards corporate facilities and also seen a number of first time "Numpties" which I feel have let the usual crowd down.

I have to say, my mind was fairly well made up on the most likely dates after I couldn't get my first choice of either ferry crossing for the weekend of the 16/17th and that was 2 weeks ago.
Damned ferry companies!!!!

Thanks for that termietermite. Not heard of the 24th week of the year before. I guess I'm a bit slow on the uptake, as this was only my 26th year there!!! Doh!!
Don't worry, I didn't fall in either, just picked this up from somebody else this year. Clever what?
Very! My application has gone in to Hallmark cards - print division. I'll know even earlier then.
