1  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: New position for Radio Le Mans on: May 31, 2012, 01:02:26 pm
There seems to be an assumption that the view from the old commentary boxes was a good one.....it wasn't. It was necessary to go out on the balcony, or very awkwardly lean across the desks in the booths in order to see anything that may be remotely useful to a commentator. Provided the new booths are built up above the concrete perimeter wall, the commentary team will now have an uninterrupted view over pit entry and the Ford Chicane - yes, they will actually be able to see the cars!  Shocked

2  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Ticket Ordering for 2011 on: October 12, 2010, 10:30:16 am
Not sure if this will help anyone, but anyway..........

I did manage to speak to one of the ladies in the ticket office this morning. They have some serious software problems (I think that became very apparent yesterday) and it would appear that what's shown on the online booking system is not necessarily what's available (for example, Parking Blanc is available, but they have been unable to load it on their system for online bookings). Unfortunately, even if you do get through by telephone, they are unable to take any bookings due to these technical problems. I was advised to send a fax or email with my request, but as they are inundated with faxes and emails and were not prepared for the 'old style' method of booking direct with the ACO, she was unable to tell me if or when they would get round to dealing with my request.

So, that's another fine mess they've got themselves (and their loyal customers) into. What a complete shambles!

LDLines will know in the next couple of weeks whether or not the Norman Arrow will return to the Portsmouth-Le Havre route next Summer. No decision has yet been made.

£80! Shocked

Current fare for a standard size car and 2 passengers on those crossings is £28 (plus a card charge of £0-£4).

........the wristband queue, which you have to join to gain access to the rest of it, as well as the facilities inside the ACO stand - even if you have tickets which I did.  Bonkers. Angry
Didn't collect my wristband until the Thursday, but had no trouble using the trib 18 facilities on the Wednesday, and at no point was I asked to show it (in trib 18) for the remainder of the week. Do the ACO have a vendetta against you?  Wink

Nice set up with some decent facilities, but a bit out of the way.
BUT no bogs.......
Really? Nature didn't call while I was there, but that's a major oversight.

It used to be located in the old museum, but last year the ACO sited a number of prefab buildings on what was previously La Chapelle campsite. If you were to walk over the Dunlop Bridge to the infield, it's immediately on your left. Nice set up with some decent facilities, but a bit out of the way.

The Van has just pulled up out side.

Gotta go.   Grin Grin Grin Grin
In which case, we live an hour and a half apart by UPS van (unless he stopped at the pub on the way for a pint and a ploughmans). Unfortunately, there was nobody chez Tubs at 14:30 yesterday. Sad

Tickets left Abingdon again at 04:13 this morning............

Hmm... Mine seem to be doing a world tour.

Le Mans -> Paris -> Cologne -> Castle Donnington -> Abingdon

And they are on the move again.  Roll Eyes

t.

Guess mine are on the same van as yours, same route and have been 'in transit' from Abingdon since 7:07 this morning.

Mmmm, something's not quite right!  Undecided

Just used the link to get a like for like quote on a Brittany Ferries crossing over the Le Mans period. It's £44.24 more expensive using the link than it is going direct to Brittany Ferries!!!!

I haven't checked if this is the case with others (LD/Sea France/P&O etc.), but..................

11  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Brittany Ferries, now flying the Jolly Roger. on: October 05, 2007, 05:21:10 pm
So much for the saving with LD Lines! I've decided to go Portsmouth-St.Malo with Brittany Ferries. Well worth the extra £15 over the equivalent dates with LD on the Portsmouth-Le Havre route.

Thanks for the heads-up, Chris. I've snapped up the Nicholas Watts 'Le Mans 1990'. Absolute bargain!  Grin

I advised a colleague who wants to apply for 2008 tickets to download the 2007 booking form from the ACO website, fill it in and send it off. He's just called me to say that he can't find it on their website. I've now looked myself and nor can I.......... Huh

Could someone pleeeeeeeeeze help me out!  Cry
Ok, I've found it.......... Smiley

Like you said, I suspect this will be a three year old car.
Fax
Nope, it's a brand spanking new one. It'll be built at Weissach this coming Autumn with several of the team's technicians present to assist in the build and familiarise themselves with their new toy.
