It was a few year ago, but after 2 pallets of beer, the following pyramid was built. We never got it to a peak unfortuantely but at 5 deep and the bottom row being about 22 - 24 bottles, it was certainly one of the largest...

Well by the time next year comes around, I'll have a nipper, so any advice you may have Mark on how to get away with leaving the wife with the screaming baby for a few days would be greatly appreciated!!

Not easy matey, I was allowed one trip and chose the Classic in July. Now I wish I was there!!

Last year we went for a holiday and buzzed to LM Saturday night, got there midnight and stayed to Monday am. I had 2 hours sleep and gave Le Mans my best shot......

Basically, arrange a family holiday in France with another family, you and the other dad can wizz over to Le mans for the weekend.... It's not easy though...

Have a good weeekend,
Marky Mark

 Embarrassed

I'm left behind as I have two nippers under two at home and my wife drew the line at Classic Le Mans only.

I am gutted, this is the first time in 12 years and wanted to see the Group C's too.

Gutted,

Marky Mark.

Mark - try the Accor hotels website - you can book online

http://www.accor.com/gb/index.asp

and save Gilles the effort!

It won't save me the effort, it gonna make me lose a part of of job !!!  Angry

Hi Giles,

I certainly wouldn't want to do you out of a job......
Coul dyou suggest typical rates and availability for hotels in or near LM?? Or another alternative might be a private hire for the week in a house/gite??

Coul dyou email me off line - mark@acrsolutions.co.uk

Gilles,

I have just had a quote from a travel company for the Classic Event, it is pretty steep.

What sort of deals are available for Friday/Saturday and Sunday night staying in a Hotel (Formule 1 type) for the Classic event???

Can you find out and let me know - mark@acrsolutions.co.uk

Cheers,
Mark

9  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:Bentley Thanks on: September 18, 2003, 01:16:50 pm
Speedwell are you still with the team or have you finished there??

Drop me a line off list if you have left, I too was involved (from a distance) with the team but more so with the design and so on with RTN......

You right about attitudes, it's amazing how many people thought the car was all German, the project was managed out of Crewe, designed and built in England but the finances came from Germany.......

The fact that the Bentley absolutely trounced the record books on most accounts seems to have been forgotten....

I'll definately be there for the Classic 2004, 2002 was absolutely fantastic.

About bringing a camera, go buy a digital one, you will be taking pictures constantly as the cars and sites are fantastic.

Even the classic car field was briming with exotica, I don't think i have ever seen that many classics and exotics anywhere else.

Last time I stayed in a hotel which was great and made a pleasant change to Houx Annexe, next year, I'm not sure, Le Mans kind of has to be camping, who knows!

Memories from the Classic 2002, The D Types, Aston DBR's, Bentleys and lolas they were all great and being driven bloody fast. By all accounts Win Percy had the D Type sideways on the Mulsanne at over 160mph trying to avoid someone driving the wrong way round the circuit. Apparently they had spun and got all confused, what with no other lights around, they headed off the wrong way............. Huh

Bring on 2004 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

When diesels are allowed to race at LM, I am sure that VAG will enter a car using this fuel.
But under what brand?
Seat or Skoda badged cars being entered might not be very far from becoming reality, although a possibility is a VW badged entrant.

Rumours are that it'll be a VW using the V10 Diesel, oooohhh how it growls.

Not sure where it will be designed and built though...........

Definately want to see the Bentley back at Le Mans, fantastic car and we should all be proud of it. Being designed, built and run by a BRITISH team, who cares where the funding came from?

Second would be the TVR's, hopefully giving the Porsches a rattling.

Bring on anything British, the Lister would be great to see up there too.

How about putting the "who's going in what" forum back ...?

2003 Lemons Gang

With Historic this september, ELMS in november, PQ, the 24h and the Classic, the real question is "who is going when ?"  Wink

Is the Le Mans Classic on again this year, or are you talking about 2004?? Sorry if I am being dim, but I thought the Classis was running again until 2004??

Chars,
Mark

Chris, when you look at it in that light, I totally agree, but I am addicted to Le Mans and that cost £30 for a weeks motorsport and a full day in April/May at the qualifying.... what I get ticked off about is the cost of motorsport in the Uk........... Having said that i am gutted I can't make the revival this year as I am off on a weekend's stag do...

If you have got a 1994 programme I would be really grateful.....

Cheers,
Mark

Rhino - I agree, that could be good value. Sorry to say I still am not a huge fan and the door price for Sunday was £50!!!!!!! Now that is a rip off, even £32 advanced is too much for the event. All IMHO I must add.
