1  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Who is not attending this year, Congrats to Robspots, and anything else thread on: February 02, 2009, 06:53:06 pm
Looks like I may not be going, for the first time since 2003. Absolutely not through choice, but I photograph racing for a living, and the company I work for has too many clashing races that weekend...

If we weren't in a recession I'd just take it as holiday, but it's not fair to my boss to have to pay someone to do my job... and I will do it better!

Will be at the Spa 24 though, also working. I think I will just have a "proper" holiday this year instead - not in a field!

Cheers. Obviously having a media pass helps, but it's what I do for a living, so it should be semi-good!

Brilliant pics Mike! I liked the trick shot from the Aston, you know which one I mean.

Er...no.

Right, finally got my a*se into gear and posted a gallery. Would have done it sooner, but I had to endure a very hot and sunny weekend in Monza. Shame that...

How about this one? I like that it is in front of the works Pescarolo!

I'll try and get a "best of" of about 30 pics or so up later. Trying to pack (again!), as I'm off to Monza at 2am!

I'm going into work today - but that's mainly to print stuff off about the trip and pick up all my camera gear. Although I do need to tidy the office and wash all the mugs, nothing heavy duty. Did that yesterday, going to Wales.

Then tomorrow is lounge around the house most of the day while clothes wash, the off Monday!

It's a bit rubbish isn't - surely most of us will be there or well on our way by the time it becomes available (disregarding the questionable quality of it...)

I was bored and considering writing to them about it, but the photo agency I work for does a lot of work for Autosport, so I decided that might be a bad idea...
10  Club Arnage / So You Think You Know About Le Mans / Re: What happened to ... Team Jota? on: June 06, 2007, 02:39:43 pm
I think the car itself went to Japan. I shot a test at Snetterton, where a Zytek was present, and some Japanese people were there evaluating it. Although the car was in the white and blue livery.
11  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Spa 24 Hours - useful stuff and w.w.w.w. on: June 06, 2007, 01:19:22 am
The Spa 24 Hours is an excellent race, very different from Le Mans though, despite similar cars being involved.

It's not as extravagant as Le Mans can get in terms of the drinking and partying etc. but we still manage to have a good time!

I would reccomend the Eau Rouge campsite myself, particularly if you are going for a few days, which I also reccomend! It has decent facilities, showers which are a godsend, and very friendly. In contrast, the Les Combes one has nothing like that and is fairly inhospitable. We stayed there in 2005, luckily only for one night. I wouldn't want to spend a week there!

In 2006 we moved there on the Saturday morning, as we weren't planning to sleep much, so didn't want to pay for another night. We never went back there until about 6pm on the Sunday, when it was very bleak and empty, and chucking it down with rain. Not ideal for trying to take down a tent!

This year I think I'll be in a hotel though...

I would reccomend the bar behind the pit buildings (if it's still there!) on Saturday night as well. Also, visit it on every other night, morning and afternoon. You know it makes sense!

How young is young? I'm 25... I always like to think I'm quite young.

Same, here, well Friday morning for me. But then I'm working, so I'll have a nice warm media centre...
