I had another great year - my 38th.  Unfortunately my son and his partner weren't able to go this year so I only met up with one mate from our little group.  Only went over on the Monday so I missed scrutineering and Test Day.  As it happens, I've had some serious health problems over the last 15 months or so and I was really quite lucky to be there.  My eldest was working with the Valkyries that did the track parade on Friday and I was able to meet up with him on Saturday evening.

Was in the pitlane Friday and the Valkyries were loud as they went past. Noisier than the Hypercars.

After losing Terte Rouge campsite we moved to the inside of Terte Rouge to Team Langoustine.  Great campsite and food provided.

we were with Team Langoustine at Tetre Rouge too after many years on Houx Annexe and Blue Nord. We all really enjoyed it and will be back next year. The food was great especially the Nepalese curry. It was nice to have decent bogs and showers with no queues. Highly recommend staying with the shrimp guys.

Definitely. Really good experience.

Liked the Porsche curves spectator areas. Now have 2 big wheels, not that I went on them.
The vastly improved toilets everywhere were great.
Terte Rouge fan zone was mostly empty. Rumour had it that the area of the zone means they can sell more tickets.
Overcrowded? Watch the start from Mulsanne then head to Arnarge, which looks like it could do with more food and beer stalls judging by the queue of people.
I really enjoyed it.

Already over 20,000 tickets sold for ELMS, so WEC will be big. As long as it's not in April.

Team Booze'n'Tabs are in two campsites this year after Terte Rouge going.
Two of us in Team Langoustines site on the inside of Terte Rouge and six in Eppinettes.
Three out Monday. Four Wednesday and the final one Thursday.

Getting it made at Dallara. Bit of a shame.

LMDh is the lower cost option of course

I still struggle to see why anyone would go LMH route when you factor in the costs and delivery time rather than LMDh.
Ferrari sold 20 trackday versions of theirs, and pretty sure Aston Martin will do the same. Project pays for itself.

I wonder if it will be ticket only. Didn't it get a bit hairy there last year with the amount of people going

Happy Christmas and a great new year.

2 more days then the none ACO members get to tackle the incompetency. I mean people logged in ready to go that where ACO members and some people where in 2 hours before due to an error!

Do you think they have any tickets left!

You never know they might have improved by 2026 and do tickets better. To me it is still good value compared to GP. Saddened that the campsite and ticket sales are such a shitshow. Having been on Terte Rouge and uncertainty about tickets, our group have split campsites, two of us have signed up for Team Langoustine, and the others are waiting for what the ticket agency have offered, find out mid December.
Since we have been going we have lost many campsites. Started camping on the Mulsanne behind the cafe. Official one closed without warning. Fortunately the farmer behind opened up. After a few years that closed. Another field was found, but we did not want to take the risk of that one closing so next year we had tickets for BSJ when you could camp in the field next to Porche curves. That went private campsite. Onwards to Technopark, 2 years and that closed. Then Maison Blanche and finally Terte Rouge.

We have booked through an agency for years now. Fortunately we are top of the list so Terte Rouge it is.
The campsite was fine, toilets and showers were clean. The rubbish did pile up. What is the point of having separate bins for cans, bottles etc if they aren't emptied. Security good. Even getting in and out on our  bikes for daily provisions was easy.
I did have a good wander all the way up to Porche curves during the night and was glad to see they have made more area's to view from.
Things have improved from my first trip in 1983 but I do wonder about there announcement about having even more spectators. Talking of over 400,000! When I first came there were hardly any toilets and the circuit was probably a bio hazard by the time the race finished. Over the years the toilets have got better and more numerous but this year there were more queues. Where are the extra 100,000 people going to watch from? Talk of opening up the interior of the circuit to have a viewing area at 1st chicane are fine but people will always head for the pit straight. Had a friend who said as he was heading past Ford chicane to Terte Rouge where there is a pinch point a van was trying to get up through the crowd and it was such a crush he feared for peoples lives, he is not going again.
Think the ACO have to have a think about extra people. And we talk every year of Terte Rouge, it is prime ground for hospitality. If it goes we would probably swap to Spa 24hr or classic.

Last year was dry for me. Watched start at Mulsanne. Rained elsewhere. When we got to Arnarge there were puddles.

It always rains at Le Mans.
15  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Did anyone stay on the Clos Fleuri campsite this year? on: May 12, 2024, 07:35:39 am
Do they run a noddy train to the entrance, that looks a long walk.
