31  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Le Mans 2017 Preparation on: December 12, 2016, 10:55:09 pm
I have started cleaning the grass and mud out of the car from this years Le Mans just now.

Getting closer

Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

What used to be a pride and joy has not been cleaned since prior to LM16 - absolutely disgusting I know, but, I found a new love veg gardening something which kept me really busy over the summer and autumn. Ok I had a few holidays away and an extra 20 days holiday from work as I gave them a years notice but life is busy at work as well. And now... I have bought a little fishing boat so the last four weekends I have been working on it to get it ship shape - finally on Sunday I launched the 'Sea Horse' with my 9.8hp four stroke motor, what a flyer, and I caught a fish on my first trip, well not quite because it came off the hook but it was a good size.

So old chap just cleaning under the arches in seven months is a little lazy get a grip and find yourself a real excuse to not do the polish on polish off technique...

34  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Test weekend information on: August 14, 2016, 10:39:48 am
Hi Guys
I am thinking of going to the test weekend prior to LM week next year and could do with a bit of info.

Is next year's two weeks prior to the race?
Are tickets needed and if so what is the cost?
Where can you camp?
Is there more access to the pits etc.

Any other info available would be good.

Thanks

Take everything you need in the car regardless (so all weather clothing) and dont forget to take a tent like I did so 1 lad slept in his car and the other shared a 1 man tent lol.

Lesson learnt roll on 2017 cant wait now.

I thought you were going to go back for the tent?

>Martini...LB
they wouldn't let me

I think if I had been sleeping in a car, other than an Audi, or had to share a one man tent I would have given your old BMV a push start - single handedly… Smiley

Yes Jason, I've not started it or even unpacked it properly since coming back from Le Mans

You lazy blighter, it is not as if there is a lot of storage space to tidy up.

To be honest I think there is a lot of disrespect for you car which is quite terrible, I think you should ship it over to ma as I am a a caring person…

39  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Question: Bringing drinks to the track? on: June 22, 2016, 05:55:22 pm
I got searched three times, each time I had bottles of wine or spirit but they were not obvious, the third time there were three large boxes of stubby beer and a large number of wine boxes. The chap said this was ok and I told him they were not being drunk there but taken home, either way he was not fussed. Maybe because I do not necessarily look like a lager lout, more of a wine slurper... Grin

There were more Richard the Thirds than a Leicester carpark  Grin

Nice to note this place retains its penchant for genius metaphor.

I will have to add one of those to my gadget list...

12 volt to mains inverter, on my list. Plug in a light if you have to set up in the dark or use to charge mobile, laptops etc.

I will do some chair testing if you are short of volunteers, I am known across the globe as more than capable of sleeping in a chair...

Not sure if you actually sold the idea Andy  Grin  Though you did say the wine would be chilled...
