I have always known the vessels at Portsmouth to come in and be turned around. (back out on the same route) So no waiting around.
We always have the 10.45pm out on either the Friday or the Sunday, they usually board around 10 to 10.30pm and it generally gets away at 11.15pm once the belly has been filled with Le Mans traffic!
Beware - the bar usually closed before 1am.

Lorry - that reminds me of the many times my mate Mark and I set off from Maison Blanche to visit the museum in the days before the action. Every time we went to do it there was always some distraction (often the Liverpool Boys, but there were others) that conspired to prevent our mission. We never made it, despite trying.
Haha 26 years, I have been trying to get to that bleeding Museum!

Is Canada Dry Covid free? Has anyone warned Phil about Monkeypox?
I've just noticed Bob U's comment
"There is a corner of a foreign field that will be forever England ------ Houx Annexe. And the bastards have built on it."
Maison Blanche is now lost - lets face it, they've built on everything!
Before long, the campsites will be SO FAR out, we might be better off staying in the municipale in Spay!

They do seem to be more helpful and knowledgeable this year. Although they could not help me when I wanted to buy GS tickets only - because we already had GE tickets. I mean, what an utterly ridiculous policy where you can only buy GS tickets if combined with a GE!! I wonder how long this restriction is going to last once the event week is happening?

I always wondered whey they didn't do it NEARER to the main event? (Like the weekend AFTER the 24h).
Appreciate that logistically this would be a nightmare for teams, but all the fans would already be there and many would stay for BOTH events (#captiveaudience). This would minimise impact on the number of road closure periods needed and on disruption to the town.
Would be great if in 2023 they did like this to celebrate the 100 years! 2 to 3 week festival Le Mans

Finally a PCR test would have to be taken 72 hours before return and only negative results would be allowed to enter the UK. This test had to be done in a French lab as UK immigration wont accept our own NHS tests.
For Double-Vaccinated people with a UK Passport, only Antigen test was required. (Lateral Flow) We had ours done on Sunday after the race at a nurse friend of ours (Friend of a friend), for £25.00 per test, instant result and she registered it for us there and then. All in all - I agree, it was a lot easier to travel than expected, particularely if all your ducks were in a row in advance. (UK Passenger Locator form was the most tricky bit)
