Yes!
I'm at Le Mans so can only hand over in person.

Calling my mobile probably the best option.

It was much better today - I think all the locals that normally come along during lunch, or take a day off to view, must have decided to go on Sunday.
Still didn't stop people barging me out of the way, and in one case pushing me hard down on the shoulder because I was in the way of his photo - whilst composing mine...
(I'm about 5'3" - must have really blocked his view!) Hurt like hell )  Angry  - you'd think my walking stick would give them a clue that you may be in some pain wouldn't you...?

Saw you there Termie, but obviously couldn't say "hi"...

The crowds in the reducedspaceof Jacobins were horrendous. I missed seeing many cars just because it was impossible to get near.

If it's the same today then we're giving up and going to do something else instead - can't believe I typed that, but I don't fancy getting crushed or trampled.  Sad

21  Club Arnage / 2010 / For Sale - 1x Maison Blanche Camping - £66 on: June 01, 2010, 03:16:32 pm
I have one camping pass for sale again this year as we've again been lucky enough to get in to a gite Grin.

The pass is for Rang K place 82 at Maison Blanche.

Usual terms of the board apply. Face value - and as we are ACO Members that's pretty cheap!   (79 Euros)

So that's £66 - email me and we'll arrange to meet.

22  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Licence to Le Mans - on Dave TV on: September 06, 2009, 11:19:56 am
It was 12 parts if I recall from last time it was shown.
May be 13 this go as I saw Tiff filming a sequence for it at the Drayson pit during Friday's open pit.  Grin

It doesn't seem to be on this week, but Digiguide shows it as being on every Sunday going forward.
Times vary but next weeks is at 6PM, with a second chance on Dave Ja Vu at7PM

On the 20th it's at 4 adn 5 PM...

I got one from the Sanf people
http://www.sanef.com/fr/ecommerce/particulier/decouvre.jsp

I only pay a monthly charge for the actual months it gets used.
Had it 3 or 4 years now. I think it well worth it for not worrying about scraping the alloys on the kerbs, let alone jumping the queues!

I do recall a 20 Euro(?) deposit, which you get back when you return it - I can't see that happening anytime soon!
24  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Luc Alphand injures spine in rally on: June 29, 2009, 05:20:27 pm
Autosport's report sounds optimistic:

Alphand injured in motorbike crash

By Matt Beer Monday, June 29th 2009, 13:56 GMT

Sportscar owner-driver, Dakar frontrunner, and former skiing star Luc Alphand has suffered severe back injuries in a motorcycle accident.

Alphand, whose Luc Alphand Aventures squad runs Chevrolets in the FIA GT Championship, the Le Mans Series and in the Le Mans 24 Hours, crashed during the Rand'Auvergne motorbike rally yesterday.

The 43-year-old's manager Philippe Poincioux said the recovery process would be slow but that there should not be permanent damage.

"From what I understand Luc did not lose consciousness," Poincioux told the AFP news agency.

"There is no danger of brain damage. We think that he fractured his spine.

"Mentally it's a big blow for him knowing that he will be unable to move for some time. He is really down even though he knows he has been lucky it was not worse. He is in great physical shape and that will help recovery."

Alphand switched to motorsport after the end of his skiing career. In addition to contesting full sportscar seasons with his own team, he is also part of Mitsubishi's Dakar Rally programme, and won the famous event outright in 2006.

I hope it all works out ok for him too.
25  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Lizards store request. - Long shot I know. on: June 26, 2009, 01:01:40 pm
Searched the village for the Lizards shop and couldn't find it.
Did they have a shop at LM this year?

No they didn't. I asked the guys when they were giving out the posters on Friday at the Pit. They said the shop was too expensive this year. Shame as I have a couple of the t-shirts and might well have bought another.
As an aside the car was missing at the time too! All the others were in bits as usual.  It arived later on a Depanage lorry so I don't know where it had been off to...?

Rats. Was hoping things might have improved.
28  Club Arnage / General Discussion / "German Friday" at Arnage - anyone go? on: June 17, 2009, 05:38:02 pm
(I'm sure there was a thread about this before the race - can't find it now... perhaps it was in another topic...anyway...)

I was wondering if anyone went to the German Teams event at Arnage on the Friday?
The Audi and Porsche cars and drivers were supposed to be there, but I don't know any details.
We were even told about it by one of the ACO helpers during scrutineering - who asked if we were going to it. Sadly we decided to stay away due to previous experience of the hooligan aspects at Arnage in the last few years (whatever happened to having a nice drink whilst watching the nice cars drive by? Now it seems to be the spectators get blind drunk and try to trash the cars...)

Maybe the event was put on to try and calm the hooligan element down? Did it work? Was the event any good?
29  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: long service!! on: June 17, 2009, 11:24:37 am
1991 and then took a break until 1995 and been every year since so I make that 16 visits to Le Mans.

Exactly the same here.
The other half (Claire) has been every year since 98.
30  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Thank you Sky... "Please insert new viewing card" msg wrecks recordings on: June 16, 2009, 03:12:59 pm
Well thanks a lot Sky, we have come back home to find that the Tivo has recorded all the race - (Eurosport kept pretty much to schedule, no failed recordings... )  BUT, half of the recordings have Sky's stupid banner obscuring the screen telling me to "Insert your new Viewing card - press backup"   ...Of course, the card did not arrive until we had left.

Anyone else? Or just us?  Sad
