A CA patch would look nice on my latest headwear acquisition. If it's good enough for Sir JYS, good enough for my humble noggin. Fax
Hi Fax, In case you did not know that is the Stewart Hunting Tartan. Which part of your Scottish ancestry entitles you to wear that Tartan? Phil

Thanks for the advice guys. You guys got me convinced at the mention of tents and beer. Decathlon sell tents from €19.99 upwards. Buy it, use it, lose it. Will definitely check that out. Look at flights through Chicago Atlanta New York etc even Toronto for the hop across the pond. Paris is the obvious destination but remember the European rail system is fantastic and Fast if cheap enough Amsterdam and Brussels and others have good connections. Just add the rail costs to get to the best deal. London has the Eurostar through the Channel Tunnel. The internet will provide all the answers with a little effort. Phil

Got to save up for it. Hi Tony, If you decide to take Landman's advice and come this year. Look in the buy/sell section for a site on Houx or over on that side ( see map) to use the tram from city /station and be within walking distance of food stores etc. Expo side has bus service but limited stores within walking distance. Other than airfare not hugely expensive. Go until VISA says No...then get home on the Master Card. Has worked for me for years Phil

Agreed, I think its great news as well. It hearkens back to a time when the top GP drivers regularly competed at Indy. Jimmy Clark skipped the 1965 Monaco GP to race in the Indianapolis 500, and won! Fax
Hi Fax, I did not know Jim Clark had skipped Monaco to WIN at one time or for a short time the Indy500 was part of the World Championship. Phil

Thanks for the offer Phil, but my OCD would not allow a crate motor to go in. I have seen some pretty ropey workmanship in crate motors over the years. I may take you up on part supply though if I may. [/quote]
Hi Si, Sure happy to. If I can help let me know. Phil

Yea Steve, I'm building it LHD. The original 289 FIAs were all left hookers (HEM6 was RHD I think but not a factory car??) and besides, it will spend quite a bit of its life overseas (plus I uses that retirement to the Dolomites gets ever closer) @Phil, I don't suppose you have any Windsors kicking around at the end of the garden? Hi Lazy B'stard, No but there are numerous engine builders that offer crate motors. Would you like me to find some names? Might be better $$ exchange than US. Phil

Hi Lazy B'stard, Nice. That should keep you busy for a while Do you know why your engine is called a Windsor? Because it was first produced by Ford in their Windsor Ontario engine plant. Keep posting pictures of your progress. Canada Phil

Looks like Team LeMansZone will hit the show early this year. An advance party is planning to arrive on sunday evening on BN, so watching the 2nd part of scrutineering on monday in the city centre is the plan . Which will probably be followed by a decent pub crawl in the town. Hi Werner, Are you part of this advance party? Is BN actually open on Sunday night? Might need a plan "B"of where to stay just in case. Tom & I did scrutineering a few years ago. It is a rather slow process. More of a procession than a parade. It is an excellent opportunity to see the drivers and cars close up. Closer to the time there is a schedule of which teams are being 'displayed". I would suggest you pick what time/s you want to attend. Tom and I had a lovely lunch and a wander in town between the cars we wanted to see and fortunately met up with Smokie and Debbie too so yes it is an excellent social occasion. Phil
