Hi Fax,
Who really knows what is marketing hype and what is true science. I suspect they are all much like my stories: Loosely based on the facts  Grin
I only run the SeaFoam in the bike where it seems to keep the carbs happy.  The minivan has to make do with regular pump fuel.

Hi Elanman,
A few of us went to that Porsche thing last year. I think it was a once off event. Interesting bit of history.

Is that you wobbling round on the bike in the opposite direction just after the Dunlop bridge Phil?  Huh  Tongue

Hi Smokie,
Not me. I did not learn to ride a bike until a few years later  Grin Grin
They've also culled a large number of trees on the inside of the track as you go from Mulsanne to Indi (past the golf course). So the lingering moisture 'through the forest' there is probably history.
I love my tree too, and it certainly adds to the atmosphere both literally and virtually.
(I wonder if that's why Spa is so great).
I was watching Derek Bells' Porsche 956 DVD recently which I think dates about 1984/5 and couldn't help notice the lack of trees, so they must have grown since, but whether they will be left to grow is another matter.

Hi Aricus,
Try this from 1955 at about 1 :30 the stretch from mulsanne to Arnage has very few tress in 1955 compared to now.

I run a bottle of Lucas fuel injector cleaner through the cars and bike once every three or four fill-ups.  Great stuff, and reasonably priced.

Fax

Hi Fax,
More snake oil. But at least the profits get re invested in a lot of dirt track and off road racing sponsorship so not a bad thing Smiley
I use SeaFoam which seems to work so we all have our own favourite  Grin

Hi Dottore,& Pilgrim,
A loooong walk from the museum in fact difficult to get to without a car.
The Rotunda was a much better location for "Joe Public". has been there for a couple of years now.

Hi Chris,
This one on West 25th Street is very nice. Only one I have been to more than once  Smiley
http://www.unionjackspeedway.com/

The traffic clears remarkably fast after the race. I remember waiting for a friend who had to file his story and 40 minutes after the race there were less than 12 cars left in the lot and the road was empty. You will need to plan though as ALL roads are made One Way out and away from the Speedway.

Hi Ian,
Just my opinion ofcourse but : Part of the secret.....
I suspect this is Canadian Snake Oil loosely based on science and a dose of solvent chemicals.
If the machine circulates the " magic liquid' through your cars fuel rail it removes the inevitable build up of crud and then they show you a glass jar  of all the dirt removed from your engine  Grin
which was not doing any harm clinging to the pipes.
Any of the Fuel injector cleaners sold will do some degree of the same thing.
Run her down the motorway in 3rd gear for 10 minutes, that will blow out more carbon  Grin

I am not a mechanic either  angel

Those videos are helpful - despite misgivings it actually looks as though it might improve things - we'll see once we know how much of it will actually be accessible....

MG Mark

Hi Mark,
I live in hope that they will make it as accessible as possible. I suppose a free bleacher style grandstand on what is now the new road would be too much to hope for. I will have to make my way there to see.

Phew, plenty of time, what was all of the panic about!
Indeed!  But I didn't get to spend a day shopping in Peterborough.  I'm sure I could have found something useful like insulated beer car holders or push and bend tent pegs.

£1000 of front brake parts should be delivered today - the whimp of a mechanic wouldn't even do a road test of my car at the service 'cos he said there were no brakes left.  I don't understand as I'm not known for braking at all  Evil

Now what else is there..... Oh the MOT.

Aricus

Brakes just slow you down  Grin Grin
